We had the privilege of staying at Ryokan Gojyuan last night, and I feel bad about finding this hidden gem so late. Everything here was absolutely amazing! The Japanese garden design is simply exquisite, providing a serene and picturesque atmosphere that immediately transports you to another world. The attention to detail and care put into every aspect of Ryokan Gojyuan is truly remarkable. The warm hospitality and genuine passion of the Owner Linda for Japanese culture shine through in every aspect of the experience. The ready availability of traditional Japanese sake and tea, along with the stocked fridge of cold beverages and Japanese snacks on the table, were a delightful touch. It's evident that Ryokan Gojyuan isn't just a business, but a labor of love aimed at sharing a deep appreciation for Japanese culture with everyone who visits. We are fortunate to have booked an entire night's stay rather than just a two-hour bath, as every moment was a pleasure, and we felt like one day and night were not nearly enough to fully immerse ourselves in this enchanting environment. I highly recommend everyone to experience this idyllic oasis and the impeccable care provided by the host. Ryokan Gojyuan is a truly extraordinary place, and I have no doubt that everyone who visits will give it the highest possible rating. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and looking to come back for an overnight stay! We had the Hinoki Bath package which left us very relaxed and calm. The host Linda was lovely and the Ryokan is filled wonderful decor sourced from Japan. They also provided handmade Japanese desserts (gluten free friendly) with a delicious tea. Amazing experience!

Ryokan Gojyuan transports you to Japan without leaving Sydney. Our host Linda was incredibly thoughtful and attentive during our overnight stay. Her passion for Japanese culture evident in the attention to detail given to each component of our stay, made us feel very welcomed. The Ryokan is immactulate and well maintained. Both gardens situated outside our room and the Hinoki Bath were beautifully landscaped. We were allowed two bath times, one on the day of check-in and another before check-out; such a tranquil and rejuvinating experience. Linda and Steve also prepared a lovely and authentic Japanese breakfast. The Ryokan is well situated; plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs within walkable distance. A quiet location with it's own quaint charm. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a place to unwind and escape for awhile, this is it.

We were blown away with the Hinoki bath package. It was a very authentic and relaxing experience, reminds me of the ryokan I visited in Japan. We will be booking again, thank you so much :)

We enjoyed a two night stay in this very quaint accommodation in a very interesting suburb of Sydney. Our welcome was warm, our accommodation unique and the hospitality excellent. Linda takes great pleasure in sharing her passion for Japan. I haven't visited Japan as yet but if this little Eden is anything to go by, I can't wait. Our breakfast was interesting and delicious, I love Linda's presentation and the beautiful utensils used to serve even a calming cup of tea. The bath is something on it's own. Especially looking out on the beautiful garden, sipping Sake and sampling Linda's treats while relaxing in the warmth of the water. Again, every comfort is catered for. My partner was working over the weekend so it was wonderful for him to come back to this paradise to relax. Would I recommend it? Definitely!!

I booked the Hinoki Bath and I'd like to give a 10/10 for this wonderful experience. I absolutely enjoyed the tea, the bath and my private time there. I've never been to Japan but Ryokan Gojyuan made me feel like I was in Japan not Sydney. Thank you Linda for your hospitality.

Stayed here in late January for one night with my boyfriend for our anniversary and it was awesome. Exceeded my expectations. Linda was a lovely host and the place is beautifully decorated and finished. Loved the gardens. The bath was a delight and Japanese breakfast in the morning was so good I wanted to eat it again! Will definitely be staying here again when it cools down so we can find more reasons to get in the bath. Highly recommended for something a little different and fun

A little slice of Japan heaven in the middle of Balmain. Took a while to book in but it was worth the wait. The attention to detail sets the place apart, from the golden koi in the pond to the homemade miso paste served with breakfast. The 'onsen' was of course a highlight. I felt so soothed by this beautiful place. Thank you for a memorable experience.
