This famous inn in Higashi Naruko Onsen promotes modern toji (hot spring therapy). It has eight baths with natural hot spring water that make use of two different spring qualities. Enjoy a variety of baths, including an open-air garden bath, a women-only bath, and an aromatic bath. There are various plans available, including the two-night, three-day toji plan "Asyl" and Fasting, where you can soothe your mind and body while enjoying meals made with seasonal ingredients.

One of the ryokan under Hitou (hidden onsen). My first with this association. The baths are spectacular and while they couldn't really speak English, we managed to communicate just fine! ( Google translate and my broken Japanese) Off to the main topic, the onsens here! There are 7 (one is female only) and one mixed onsen(dedicated time for female). All of them are amazing. Thr best is probably the outer onsen to which they have to drive you there, and you get 30 min in a secluded place to enjoy yourself! The mixed bath is a close second as it has an wonderful mural with an old bathhouse feel that has been renovated.

One of my best onsen experience in Japan!! I have been to many onsen ryokan in regional Japan and this one is definitely on my top 3. Traditional setting, great hospitality, delicious meals, and the best of all, their onsen! There are so many different onsen baths to enjoy and of course, my friend and I love the outdoor one most! We don’t speak Japanese but we felt very welcomed by the staff and owners. Thanks Ryokan Ohnuma for the wonderful experience!

Excellent place to stay. The private open air bath is excellent. The water is 100% natural hot spring without circulation. The water is slightly green water with wooden smell. The main large bath is also excellent. It has the same hot spring as the former one. Additionally there are 3 private bathrooms with browny clour hot spring. Hot floor room is also great. The food and sake are great. Hospitality is great.

The onsen (hot spring baths) are fantastic here, and alone are worth making the trip for. Whether you want just a day or two to decompress or place to stay for weeks as a base to really dig into Tohoku culture, Ryokan Onuma is a great choice. Recently refurbished, the rooms are great, some even with beds and washlet equipped western toilets. ||Great food too! Healthy and tasty traditional Japanese fare, the only thing you’ll need to bring is your own coffee. There’s even a great selection of craft beers on offer!||It’s the first onsen I’ve been to that still has a (only one of the seven) mixed (co-ed) bath, which could be nice for a family. ||The owner speaks English, and is a very gracious and affable host. Highly recommended.||

I'm a university student, and have visited many times since we got to know each other with the owner. He's always so kind to me.||This inn has both relaxing traditional atmosphere and helpful latest facilities. You can cook by yourself in the clean kitchen. You'll have enjoyable time while cooking and eating local food with your friends or partner. Also, there are very strong wi-fi, which can be connected by over 300 devices in one time. This inn is much more relaxing than a guesthouse, and much more convenient than an ordinary inn as well.||Of course the baths are all unique and comfortable. All bath are filled with 100% natural hot spring water. This water is very good for skin. And the aroma of the water is perfect. It smells just like wood. You will certainly feel as if you were in the forest.

There are several kinds of Onsen baths, exclusive use and public use. All of them are available for 24 hours. Quality of springs for each baths are different. You can enjoy all of them at one place. Staffs are so kind. If you want to stay long, you can cook by yourself. Kitchen is big and comfortable. There are speedy WIFI and desk, so it is also good to work at there. If you prefer typical Japanese style stay, Ryokan Onuma is one of the best.

I went there in early Jan. ||||The owner gave soon booked a nice timing for us to enjoy "private Onsen - 母里の湯", where we enjoyed the beautiful snow failing around the Onsen bath. With this amazing experience, we soon felt relaxed & joyful from bottom of our heart. ||||Besides this, the welcome tea from the owner's mother provided to us showed how they highly-valued each customers. ||||Last but not the least, the other Onsens within this Ryokan are also great, such as Onsen construction with over 100 years, provides Nostalgia feeling. The food and accommodation are also wonderful. Staff are helpful and trying to explain us in English. ||||All of these leaves us good impression and we would definitely like to revisit this place.
