My mate Bevan and I stayed here for a few nights. We had a great time. Super hospitable and welcoming place. Not a bad thing to say. Fantastic location for accessing things like mt Utsukushigahara highlands(great spot), golf course(amazing) etc. Which is what we needed. We loved it and highly recommend the place for travelers. Just easy....and felt at ease. Which is what you want when you are on holiday

Super nice ryokan ran by a family. The owner is amazing, super sweet and helpful. The rooms are really cool and the onsen is also amazing. It’s also very easy to reach with a bus from Matsumoto st.

This is a lovely family run ryokan which we stayed at in March this year. The welcome and stay was very warm and welcoming, we felt like family. We had booked a room with three futons for two people and had plenty of space and a lovely view overlooking the river and mountains. They were very helpful with all questions we had and we could use their bikes free of charge. The town centre is about 20 min by foot and an easy walk along the river. They also sell super tasty honey and have an large and amazing Japanese breakfast! We would always stay with them again.

Honestly my favourite place to stay in all of Japan. The owner was a lovely person and was extremely helpful with any questions we had about matsumoto. The rooms view of the river was magical with the fresh snow falling, well worth paying extra for. The Ryokan wasn’t very busy so my partner were about to the onsen privately which was really nice. The breakfast was exceptional. Not only is the owner a really nice person, shes also an amazing cook. Traditional Japanese breakfast to die for. No corners cut and reasonably priced. After check out we were able to leave our luggage there and use the bikes rent free to explore Matsumoto. Ryokan Seifuso really went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant. :)

We were visiting from Los Angeles. Amazing stay overall, they treat us like family. The family that run it are incredibly nice. 1 block away from a main bus stop that takes you everywhere. The son of the family is a bee keeper so they sell honey too which was really good! I got 2 jars. Showers and toilets are separate and not included in rooms, all very clean. I'd recommend staying here!!! Hope the mom and dad retire soon! 🙏🏾💕

Quiet and lovely place, you will hear cicadas and river flowing in season. I hope to go back next year. I liked walking down to the river, which is just outside. There is a small path all the way and benches spread about. You can enjoy at anytime as you keep the room key with you and there is no curfew. The local sake was also delicious.
