We stopped into the Tsurugata in the incredibly charming and well-preserved Bikan district of Kurashiki for one night, and we are thrilled that we did. This 300 year old ryokan delivered on charm and on hospitality! We stayed in the luxury room, which was spacious, and had a private garden. Dinner was served in the room, on the floor, with eleven courses of tremendously delicious Japanese cuisine. Service was simply exquisite. Cannot believe the luxury for the value. Our next night was at the Yoshida Sanso ryokan in Kyoto, which is known as one of the most luxurious ryokans in Japan. Candidly, it was a bit of a let down after the superior experience we had at the Tsurugata! ||Highly recommend this place, and the Kurashiki old town! And be sure to walk the old town at night in the lovely Yukata they provide to you!!
