I recently visited Unnie a couple of weeks ago with one of my girlfriends. They recently opened and serve classic Korean dishes, noodles with a twist, and refreshing cocktails. The portion sizes are perfect for sharing, and the vibe is great. However, the service was a bit slow, but overall, it was a great girls’ night! We ordered their Korean beef pancake, sweet and spicy shrimp, hangover cure pasta and the bibimbap. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend the Korean Beef Pancake. Almost every table ordered it, and it was probably one of the best Korean pancakes I’ve ever had. The sweet and spicy shrimp was crispy and had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The Hangover Cure Pasta was so spicy that I had to stop eating after a couple of bites lol.

Had a casual night out with friends, and I was honestly shocked to find such quality food at this Korean bar-themed spot. Maybe I've been avoiding places like this because I've been sober for quite a while, but hey, I think I wouldn’t mind making this a regular spot. We didn’t stick to the usual Korean bar fare; instead, we ventured into some unique dishes like Beef Tendon and Shank Jeongol (a hearty, shareable stew), Beef Tendon Muchim (Seasoned Beef Tendon Salad), Golbaengi Somyeon (Sweet & Spicy Noodles with Whelk), and Muktae (Dried Pollack). Not much fusion going on with the menu, but I genuinely appreciated how everything was prepped and served. The soups were hearty, with just the right depth. The shank and tendon were tender and carefully prepared - amazing, really. Contrary to my friend’s concern about the texture of the Beef Tendon Muchim, it was a pleasant surprise how the distinct sauce brought a fresh twist to the same key ingredients. Everything was perfectly cooked, no overpowering flavors or excessive saltiness. I enjoyed every bit of it. Honestly, I wonder why this place labels itself as a pub when the dishes here seem worthy of being served under brighter lights, in a proper restaurant setting. Of course, I’ll be back to try other dishes I haven’t had a chance to explore yet!

Great food but terrible management. I have to say the food is so good. I’ve tried so many Korean restaurants and I never get tired. Unnie provides Korean fusion food so I’m impressed that they took some traditional Korean food to a very interesting level. However, the management need so be improved. The video shows the occupation level of the restaurant while we have been waiting for 40 mins. Those tables were reserved but they guests would not arrive in 1 hour. So, don’t do walk-ins if you haven’t made reservations.

The sign is easy to miss if I didn’t see this new Korean poncha spot Unnie. I love the dried pollack. Dipping it in the mayo was so tasty. We ordered the Yukjeon pan fried battered beef. Not bad but I still prefer my dried pollack. The egg was was ok, I find the sauce on the sweeter side. Overall it was just for a Tuesday night and tasty! I will need to bring more friends to try more items!

Everything about our time here was incredible, the food was delicious, drinks were awesome, I got the pineapple mojito and my partner got pineapple soju! Both were yummy! Now don’t even get my started on the food, everything was insane 🔥 Some things were a tad too spicy for my sensitive pallet but I did still devour everything because it was that good! Best experience and first time getting hot pot which was so flavourful and delicious, the broth was very good! Here’s everything we got: Garlic cream shrimp ( sweet, garlicy and saucy) Hangover cure pasta🌶️🌶️🌶️ Woo samgyeop pasta- cream& mushroom based spaghetti (Top 3 dishes) Yukhoe -Korean beef tartare (Top 3 dishes) Yak- Gochujang bibimpap (delicious mixed rice bowl) Shank suet jeongol- korean beef shank hot pot ( Top 3 dishes) We will defiantly be back to try all the other dishes as well as re-order or favs! 😍👌 Great new spot for sure! Also the Korean pancake and ice cream is must for dessert! 👌

Located across sheppard centre, easy public transit access. There’s a public parking spot just by Harlandale Ave. Love the vibe of the place! They open late, it’s a great place to unwind after late worknights. We ordered their egg roll, yukhoe and shank suet jeongol. Egg roll is delicious! Whatever sauce they put on top is sooo good. Yukhoe is very tasty, served with sides of sliced pear and egg on the top. The soup is huge, definitely for sharing and comes with side of rice. I find the portions are generous and definitely for sharing!

It's my best k-bar. I can't stop drinking soju....🤣 The servers are nice and the food is perfect, too. I will definitely visit again next week!! I recommend shank suet hot pot and sweet and spicy shrimp.

Yelp
If you want good food and good vibes, Unnie is a cute spot for a GNO or date night. The menu is pretty small, but each dish is a good sharable portion between 2 people. Every dish costs ~$20, which is kinda on the pricier end for k-pocha, but still a great spot for dinner. The garlic shrimp was incredible! It was perfectly crispy with a sauce that tasted like the honey walnut shrimp but not much garlic flavor. The hangover cure pasta comes in a stone bowl and is perfectly spicy with a decent amount of seafood. The tonkatsu was delicious, and the meat was still pretty juicy inside! We ended the night with some hwachae for dessert. It was mainly a blend of yellow waterman and peaches. The yellow watermelon was super sweet and refreshing. The peaches were definitely the kind soaked in syrup in a jar, lol
