Historic soul of Athens.
Visited during my Athens bar crawl — Brettos is said to be the oldest bar-distillery in the city (since 1909), glowing with walls of colorful bottles and stacked wooden barrels. Tried a local white from rare Greek grape Kydonitsa — crisp and aromatic — and finished with a warm Rakomelo, a local mix of rakija, honey, and cinnamon. The staff knows their craft, and the whole atmosphere feels authentic and alive.
a local Kydonitsa wine and finished with a warm Rakomelo — both excellent local tastes.
Full of charm, good vibes and history - a must-stop in Plaka for anyone exploring authentic Athens bars.
