Where to Drink in the Isles of Scilly
The Turks Head

Ange, Simon and the team are the best, the most delicious food looking over the most gorgeous backdrop (arguably the best pub garden in the UK). So worth every penny. The fish pie is the best we’ve tasted and the sticky toffee pudding is something else!

Always a pleasure to visit this pub. Great beer and pasty for lunch. Only negative comment and must have been a reason for it but does seem to be H&S gone mad is the new grey metal fence along the sea front wall. The photo taken in 2023 won't be quite the same!

Only pub on the island and probably the most Southerly pub in UK. Nice nautical interior and several outdoor areas with tables. Surprisingly large selection of beers on handpump. Very expensive.

Highlight of the island, after visiting all the other main islands I did find St Agnes a bit boring but the Turks head was a welcome treat at the end.

Cool traditional pub that serves good local seafood and cider.

Great pub on the island of St Agnes. Situated right by the jetty, making it an excellent place to take a drink whilst waiting for your boat, or on a night when there's live music. The food is good too. Don't miss out, have a great time just as we did.

Such a perfect and peaceful spot to have lunch or just a drink. I have the crab roll (gf bread roll option) with a great view. The staff were all friendly and quick service.

Yelp
Well I personally couldn't believe the distasteful review that was given to this lovely small and personal pub. The food I have had there has always been lovely, along with the views. The staff are very cheerful and often have a bit of banter between themselves which not only myself, but many others, find very amusing. After asking, I found out that the kitchen is quite small, so, after being inundated with locals, campers and the supperboat, then one can surely, with a bit of common sense, understand that there will be a wait for food. Why not have another drink and wait until the rush is over? The ales are always good in any case. I found the review to be unreasonable, a little bit too mainland stressed, and for goodness sakes, if you are on holiday, then adjust your mindset to that fact. I will definately be returning to this lovely picturesque pub, with my friends, as they feel the same way as I do, come rain or shine!

Yelp
I'm quite upset that our experience of this place has been a damaging one. In the daytime, it was lovely. Luckily that day was quite sunny so there was quite a lot of room outside to sit. Food was quite nice. Unfortunately, we went over to the island on the supper boat, the place was full up so, desperate to eat, we sat outside. It was raining but we were under a large umbrella, and as we were on holiday, we didn't mind a bit of roughing it! We ordered, telling them that we were sat outside, it was pretty obvious it was raining so was hoping we'd be served relatively quickly. No chance. After two prompts, we were eventually served our relatively easy order 1 hr 20 mins later. Not so funny when you are outside with the rain pouring round you. Other people who'd also decided to rough it in the rain had been for a walk round the island, come back and ordered food and still got served before us. And there was no apology or explanation. Did get a free round of drinks but they didn't want to give us them. The place doesn't even hold many people, and it wasn't running at full capacity because if it was sunnier, the inside and outside would have been full, not just inside. Basically can be rounded up by saying, they don't care if you have to wait too long for your food. Not one of the four people over that period apologised. Very disappointing, considering its part of one of my favourite locations.

Yelp
Can't believe the following reviews - But I suppose I wouldn't go on the supperboat when the weather is poor knowing the Pub caters more for the outside trade. This Pub is one of my favourites. The food and Ales have always been great. The owners are always so accommodating and I believe if you had spoken with them the experience wouldn't have been so bad. The views are to die for - on a good evening overlooking the bay with a freshly cooked Crab and a pint of Turks Head, you couldnt wish for more...........but being stuck under an umbrella, cold, miserable & wet wouldn't be great!

Yelp
This is a good pub with a lovely view. To be fair, it's the view that brings you here. We found the food to be good & the service very polite & friendly. It helped that it was a beautiful sunny day though! It gets very busy so you may have to wait a while, but soak up the view whilst you do. They had a great selection of beers to chose from, so chose I did, more than once!

Yelp
I also had a very similar experience. Almost identical in fact. Food was ok when it did arrive but nothing special.

Yelp
We are on the Scillonian, rounding the southern tip of St Marys and coming up The Sound. We catch our first glimpse of the Turks Head in 9 months. It briefly disappears from view as we dock at St Marys, then, it's on the Spirit and off to St Agnes. Familiar faces greet us and it's up the slipway, around the corner and into the Turks. A lovely welcome from Nicki and a welcome pint of Turks Ale. It's sunny, so we sit outside. Nothing has changed, same view, same excellent beer, same excellent, good value food. In the evening if you want to eat, it makes sense to get there before the supper boat arrives or eat after it's gone. Either way it's no problem. This is a really special place, go there and love it! Can't wait for next time!
