Tourist scam warning.
This store looks legitimate and has beautiful handcrafted items and friendly staff, but the friendliness is part of the sales tactic. Nothing has prices listed.
I was quoted 1,500 MXN, the item was wrapped, and when I went to pay they tried to charge 4,500 MXN. When I questioned it, they insisted I was wrong and tried to pressure me since the item was already wrapped. The person who quoted the original price conveniently disappeared.
After reading more reviews, I realized this is a pattern. They find out where you’re from and inflate prices.
Shops that treat customers honestly list their prices. This place does not. I wanted to love this place but I’d avoid it.
