Bishop Arts District

This areas is a must see if you are in the Dallas area! The food is delicious, there are tons of shops, restaurants and delicious desserts! At night, there are chill bars and speakeasy vibes! I will definitely go again!

Very festive district with a lot of cool shops and restaurants. Parking is a little challenging here. There's a range of shops with different price range and has a variety of selections. Service here is welcoming.

This area was recommended to me by everyone I talked to for recommendations when I said I was visiting Dallas. After spending a day here, I can definitely understand why. You can spend hours walking around and looing at everything the Bishop Arts District has to offer. Lots of different kinds of shops and things to see. I really enjoyed my time here with all the small businesses. While not all of them were great, it was still nice to see all the different things being offered. I would definitely come back here if I was ever in town again. I think it is the perfect place to find gifts for your friends and family.

Such a fun place with great vibes. Everyone we encountered was in such a happy mood ! We went to paradiso for dinner and atlas for drinks . Great service at both , good quality for what we paid. Recommend !!

I was researching the JFK assassination. I learned Lee Harvey Oswald lived in the area. I walked around the Bishop Arts District. I saw a lot of murals that I enjoyed. I walked a tiny shopping street for the pedestrians. It reminds me of Yokocho in Japan. Yokocho is alleyways off to the side of the main street. It was an early morning, but if I could walk at night, I could see a lot of people. I went to Texas Theater on Jefferson street where Oswald was arrested. I saw many Hispanic stores. Everything has changed since 1963. I really loved this area. Please stop by some coffee shop, then enjoy your zen moment!

This is my first time in Dallas, and I really enjoyed this area. Lots of cute shops, restaurants, cafés, and murals to check out.

It's interesting to watch a place that was a big part of your childhood, re-emerge like a phoenix from the ashes of economic obsolescence. Although I've chosen not to live here, I'm happy to see the energy and newness developing here. Over the past twenty years, its gone from don't go there after dark, to a travel magazine destination. Ironically today I had traced my side of the family to a great grandfather Xs 10 in France. His descendant was my great grandfather who lived in a house I can see from this street corner!!! Wednesday night was pretty busy and I came and went before 7. I can only imagine what it's like on weekends. However, don't let that scare you off. There are valet parkers everywhere and if you don't mind walking, street spots are to be had. Come, eat, shop, walk, drink, and enjoy watching a resurgence.

If you are ever in need of a good cider/setter this is the place to go. I love stopping by for either a flight or just a single pour. The staff is always so helpful with letting you sample and getting the perfect drink. I suggest going here always. The vibe is chill and you could bring some games to play and it is a great time. Make sure y'all check this place out and get a flight to sample all the ciders on tap. You won't regret it!

My friend and I stumbled into the Bishop Art District because we had a reservation for a foot massage at Yaya Foot Massage. We arrived to the area a bit early and had a bit of time to explore the area. Luckily enough this area was one of the areas my friend wanted to visit based on her research of Trip Advisor's recommendation. They have over 60 boutiques as well as local restaurants, coffee shops, theaters, antique shops and art galleries. The streets themselves are even a work of art with murals painted to the side of most buildings, really revealing the artistic culture and passion of the city. I really appreciate the signs regarding wearing face masks and social distancing put up by the Bishop Art District to remind everyone to be responsible to stop the spread of the pandemic. My friend and I didn't really find anything to buy but it was just fun to walk around and explore their artistic streets and boutiques. It was a fun way to get some exercise in after a large meal and before a relaxing foot massage. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the Dallas, TX area and you want to explore the art and culture of the city.

Thank you for filling up the Dallas streets with unique mom and pop businesses, delicious coffee, and home-style brunches. Thank you for pie, and pizza, and pop up shops. Thank you for creating safe spaces to visit during this chaotic time. And thank you for always making me feel welcome. We love Bishop Arts.

This place is a real gem to visit especially if you're into small shops and businesses. Each small stores are so unique in their own way and does their own thing. I remember walking into this store where the owner does custom furnitures and we learned about the myth of the jackalope as well. We also bought some clothes from Bella and Brawns. Got some pies at emporium pies and we are eying the Paradiso restaurant to eat at when the weather is beautiful! Overall, this place will need more than just a day to be explored!

I love doing photo shoots here just by walking around and stopping at an interesting wall or corner. It never disappoints. It's a nice place to park and stroll around and try different restaurants. It's the ambiance and experience of the Bishop Arts District that's the pull here. I haven't eaten at any groundbreaking eateries, but the mood is nice and people mind their own business. Very LGBT friendly, dog walking friendly and just out here doing me friendly area.

This place was really neat as I had never been here before. I was pleasantly surprised by the good mix of retail shops, eating places, and artwork. For my odd, rather eccentric, personality, the District had the two things I look for: a coffee shop and a Tobacconist. After walking around for quite some time, I took advantage of both, grabbing a cup of java to-go from Brazil and walking over to Cigar Art. Everyone was very welcoming and quickly included me in their conversation. In fact, another patron purchased a cigar for me to try: the Dissident. I was very pleased with the recommendation. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely spend some time walking around the very nostalgic ambiance of Bishop Arts District.

Pretty cool, eclectic and artsy for strolling, shopping, coffee or having lunch/dinner.

Nice part of the city to take great pictures and grab a tasty bite to eat. Plenty of cute overpriced shops if your in the mood to purchase artistic spin-offs. Only downside is that the area of interest in small (literally one street) while surrounding area is "urban" and undeveloped. Bonus Points: dog friendly

We had a wonderful visit at this district. We expected to see some cool arts and we were not disappointed. There are so many restaurants, bars and shops within the area that is worth to swing by. Parking maybe diffucult to find. Recommended to visit when in town.

Just have to say... every City has a Soul (a unique and memorable neighborhood) and if lucky enough... they have numerous Souls. The Bishop Arts District is a beautiful, vibrant and eclectic Soul that is one of the unique fibers that makes the City of Dallas Memorable.... Cool little area with a fair amount of restaurants, bars, and independent shops. Basically you come here to eat, drink, shop, or take a stroll. I didn't see a lot of murals...but then again I wasn't looking for them as this was a quick stop before my flight back home. All the shops I ventured into had overpriced goods so I was really just window shopping and taking pictures. There were 2 street performers playing their guitar and singing down the street from each other, which exuded some good vibes. I've noticed live music is a big thing here which I like! After walking up and down the street and not finding much else to do, I just got a quick drink at one of the restaurants where the live music was and made my way back home.

Came here on a Sunday and there were a good amount of people walking around. It's a small area with restaurants and boutiques. A great place to walk around if you're in the area. Every street corner had live music playing so it's a chill atmosphere! Downside - I couldn't find all the cool murals so I'm guessing not all of them are still there.

Mimosas Walk today had the potential of being gloomy. Rain chances were HIGH! I prepared with a poncho and water proof hair. ;) This was my first experience so I was very pleased. Bishop Arts District has the interesting shops. This was a great combination to sip and shop. I still don't think we got to all the shops because most were so engaging and inviting we stayed longer than expected. By 2pm the rain was only clouds and I had handful of goodies from old faves like Fetish and taking an extra sample from Dude Sweet Chocolate. Oak Cliff's gem is Bishop Arts District!

Love the Bishop Arts District! So many fun restaurants, shops, and murals to experience. We ate at Oddfellows and enjoyed a coffee and donut at The Salty Donut. When it's not so hot we will come back and walk around!

It's a nice couple of streets of shopping and eats. Really cool graffiti and a few vintage shops. It's worth a day of strolling around and taking pictures. Being outdoors mostly is way better than hitting a mall so support small business and give this district a try!

I hate that this neighborhood is so far from me!!! I would like to spend more time here but I never want to make the drive and get pass constructions! The area is aka Oak Cliff. The hipsters call it Bishop Arts District because Oak Cliff is associated with gang related activities. That is still around no matter what name you change it to but is safe as long as you don't venture out of the shops. Nothing was happening here when I was growing up in Dallas. Gone away for college and came back, it's now Bishop arts! I welcome you! You have good food and coffee shops so I welcome you, BA!

So much fun exploring the shops and all the unique stores and restaurants so much art and really that since of boutique style but also hand made one of a kind stores. It's all walkable and just a fun filled area

It's a very small shopping area near downtown Dallas. The whole area is being gentrified and with near by homes being demolished to make way for businesses. Very liberal to say and business owners are not shy to show off their beliefs. Very good cafes and trinkets

Went there on a Sunday, almost all the shops were closed early. Google maps stated things are open till 10pm so when I got there at 6:30 I thought I'd have plenty of time to do some fun shopping. Only food shops were open. So I pretty much wasted an Uber ride.

Wonderful walkable area with charm and character. The small businesses offer unique shops, restaurants, and bars. Parking is easy on the street and lots. Worth a drive down to Oak Cliff (south Dallas) to spend time browsing the eclectic shops and a relaxing meal. Hand sanitizer kiosks along the sidewalks is a thoughtful safety measure.

The bishop Art district is a cool, trendy spot to hang out for the day. Visit the various bars, restaurants and stores in the area . Cool & easy day killer, you can find cool, unique crafts in the area.

Not much going on... a couple of shops with little to sell. Skip this ... at least on a Monday. Maybe the weekends are busier .

How have I never been here before?! This is such a cool little place. There are restaurants and shopping galore. Tonight we ventured to Bishop Arts to try Tillman's out for DFW Restaurant Week. Whoa. So good. If you haven't tried it, make sure to make reservations TODAY. We also tried the Ten Bells Tavern for a beer after eating dinner. Even though I was stuffed, I kept wanting to eat everything that came out of the kitchen. Good local beer on tap and a cool patio.. this is worth a look at. I love the Bishop Arts feel. The hubby and I will be back... OFTEN :)

No matter what you're looking for in Bishop Arts, there's a really good chance you're going to find it. Looking for good food? Check out Oddfellows or Lockhart's BBQ. Looking for a new outfit to wear this weekend? Check out one of the adorable boutiques along Bishop Ave. Craving some ethnic food? Try Zen Sushi or a sandwich from C Senor. Trying to find a present for a friend? I would suggest looking at Dirt or the Cigar Shop. There are parades, mimosa walks, happy hours, murals, and diversity everywhere you go within the three streets that encompass the Bishop Arts District.

Very fun, eclectic must see and do Dallas experience. Warning; bring lots of money because these are true boutiques and items are pricey. Favorite not so pricey finds were White Rock Soap Gallery, Home on Bishop and Fetesh! We had Excellent customer service too! Tons of breakfast and brunch spots too (they close at 3pm). If you are looking for a unique shopping experience then this is the place!

Bishop Arts is one of Dallas's fastest revitalizing/gentrifying (pick your term) neighborhoods. Walk around and you'll find bars, shops, restaurants. We visited this past weekend before the Christmas holiday. We stopped at a bookstore/coffee shop/bar (The Wild Detectives), a chocolate shop (Dude, Sweet Chocolate), a cider brewery (Bishop Cider Company), a comic book store, a pie shop (Emporium Pies), and more. It's pretty crowded and parking can be a problem (because there's an insane amount of construction going on) and the sidewalks are a mess (only a problem for us because my 87-year-old grandma was with us on this visit). Definitely worth checking out.

This was my favorite part of Dallas. If you're looking for local shops, unique finds, great food, and a nice place to grab a few drinks, well, you're in the right place. This one district has it all!

Dallas historical bluislings repurposed with charm and an upscale vibe. Unique shops, cafes eateries . Something for everyone. Except maybe parking...

Swung by for a girls night and we had a great time looking through local artisans and small boutiques. Parking is a little different, but not insanely difficult. I enjoyed this visit, and Bishop Arts is a great idea in a great area-but I want more! From start to finish (even with a stop at Emporium Pies), this whole walk through only took about 45 minutes to an hour.

I stopped by the Bishop Arts District on my way to DFW before my flight. Definitely a cool area to check out and stroll to pass time and support local businesses (albeit they're expensive). The shops are indeed unique- some funkier than others, and the murals are interesting as well, with a decent mix of restaurants and bars, although admittedly I expected more for an area that's well known. FYI: parking is a challenge.

Such a fun area with so much to explore! We loved all the shops and restaurants. If you know Atlanta, it's kind of like a cross between downtown Decatur and Little Five Points. Fun! Don't miss if you're in Dallas.

Great area to enjoy fantastic food anytime of the year, summer time weekends are especially nice to enjoy the live entertainment in several places. A very cool very condensed area with limited parking on the weekends. Usually having the pay scooters or bikes. Super coo!

Another district I was oh so looking forward to but so disappointing. It's basically 2 block radius and shops close so early. By the time we arrived at 5pm there was 2 shops open out of maybe 15 or so.. there was an art co-op but closed, a vintage shop closed.. it's like ghost town here. value 3/5 atmosphere 3/5 service 2/5 quality 2/5 10/20

Very cute area of Dallas. Love the shops and restaurants- very unique gift shops. My Uber driver mentioned that this area used to be "rough" but now it is building up to a pretty posh neighborhood

I have been in love with the Bishop Arts District since my first visit in 2011 as a new transplant to Dallas. I've watched it grow and change, mostly for the better. The number of unique restaurants and boutiques in this area is fantastic and cater to a variety of tastes. I have to admit, calling it an "arts district" is a little bit of a stretch for those who are expecting a more concrete embodiment of the definition with museums, galleries and theaters on every corner, but calling it a "shop local district" just doesn't have the same ring. That said, fashion, floral arranging, gourmet foods, craft ciders and coffees, interior decor, antiques and indie music and film venues definitely fit into my broad definition of "art". There are also a few actual art galleries interspersed throughout the area, as well as studios to take art classes and create new work. The crowd varies between income levels, style and cultural backgrounds here, although there are a lot more sorority/fraternity type patrons to the area than before, now that word got out Oak Cliff isn't as scary as they thought it was before. Parking can be tricky, especially during festivals and special events, but it is free -- yes, FREE (at least for now). Park on the streets, park in the lot at 7th & Madison or even valet it, but do NOT park in the lot for a business you aren't patronizing -- you'll get towed! Better yet, Ride your bike over or take the free D-Link buses from downtown, then wander to your heart's delight and just take it all in...

After living in the Oak Cliff/Kessler Park area for more than 4 years, I feel it is perhaps a good enough time of experience to reflect on how everything is so cool and fun in the Bishop Arts District. It was amazing when I first arrived in 2013, but several years later, I feel like this sweet bond I have with this entertaining area South of Dallas just keeps getting better. In a million different ways for a million different reasons. For starters, I worked at one of the more popular restaurant for almost three years. It was physically demanding work that provided the income I needed while fighting health issues. Which I am always grateful for that opportunity. The food was and still is amazing. Walk down the main road, Bishop Avenue right off Davis Street. There are a dozen styles of cuisine available in all price points. These are individually owned and operated restaurants that work diligently to be creative, unique, and traditional in their own style and interpretation. You won't be disappointed. Seeing the gentrification of a racially diverse suburb has been interesting. I know everything old has its own life cycle, and will be reimagined, repurposed, and revitalized into something new and unique. It's one part sad, two parts modern reality. A cocktail of life in Dallas 2017. Things are BOOMING, with a capital B. Housing is in high demand. Several mixed used developments(M.U.D.), are currently under construction. With the classic retail street level store and housing lofts above will be added bonuses of a carless living, high density community. More Dallasites and visitors frequent this charming neighborhood. And we welcome them of course. There is a cultural eclectic mish mash of many aspects that create the vibe here: it was a previous artist colony when rent was very cheap and older, crumbling buildings were abandoned or eye sores. Several visionary entrepreneurs saved part of Dallas & Oak Cliff's history, and for that we all get to appreciate the remaining and preserved 20th century buildings and legacy. Since zoning has been behind the times, parking is crazy. Forgetaboutit. Seriously. Wear comfy shoes because there are bumpy lumpy well worn sidewalks and walkways or nothing at all. Especially with all the construction going on, paths are really inconsistent. So be careful. Ladies, y'all look marvelous in your super high heels, but one wrong step and ouchie momma, your ankle is going to twist or snap, and it won't feel great. Just saying. Now there are amazingly fun and family parades and annual events that take place in this cultural hot spot. Sign up for the Advocate Newletter, which is a paper magazine or online cornucopia of history and happenings of Oak Cliff. It never stops dazzling me on what the movers and shakers of past, present, and future have done or partaking of. There is one of a kind history and people with close ties to the area: Bonnie & Clyde. 7-11. Edie Brickell. Lee Harvey Oswald. Stevie Ray & Jimmie Vaughan. And many more. My most tender memory will always be my friend, Michael McGuire. He was a funny, fun loving taking life by the seat and the floor and the cocktail glass too, kinda guy. His short life dimmed at only 41. But he packed more joy, laughter, crazy hell raising days than perhaps a dozen people combined. He lived a FULL existence everyday. And fought his demons with grace and wit. I love and miss my friend. But he is still in the memories of Oak Cliff and the Bishop Arts District where it is never a dull time!!

There's some cute artwork in this area and the shops are unique too. I got some cute pictures with my friends in this area. I would definitely come here if you want to find something different. The area is still under construction so there's a lot of fixing-up areas, but that shouldn't deter anyone from coming here to stop by and visit.

This place is a really great place to come and enjoy all that it has to offer. You can find some of Everything in Bishop Arts District.... You can start off with great coffee shops, to strolling into some awesome art galleries down the way. Great small businesses that offer so much character in their products that you will not find anywhere else. This place even have somewhere to go to get a foot massage.... Awesome Bars, Restaurants, Boutiques, Cigar shops, Bakery shops, you name it this hidden Urban treasure has it.... Right in the heart of Oak Cliff! If shopping is your thing you are sure to find something to walk away with like from furniture stores etc.... If you live in the South and don't want to venture out to the North with places like Uptown and Lower Greenville then this place is perfect!

Hipster headquarters! The area is several square blocks, easy enough to walk the whole thing in an afternoon while browsing the various clothing, restaurants, and art galleries. They're all unique, eclectic, and laid back. The area has a nice vibe and is a fun place to chill and people watch. I particularly loved the artsy aspect and the numerous murals.

This area of Dallas has such a lovely atmosphere. There are so many cool little shops up and down the strip. The only issue with this Metroplex right now they happen to be doing some major construction on the little side roads that can cause detours in your driving. I definitely recommend you to park at the library. So you want to be sure that your phone is charged or you bring a camera because you're going to want to take lots of pictures of the artwork! I knew I'd love it here. For months I heard whispers of a far away yet so close land with art galleries, vintage shops, soda shops, and yummy eateries. It took years for me to finally stumble upon it, but when I did I felt right at home. This area is unbelievably beautiful. Whether you are in need of a Dr. Pepper made in Dublin (Soda Shop Gallery), a gorgeous floor length, beautifully kept vintage coat (Zola's Everyday Vintage), the thinnest slice of pizza in town (Eno's) or a stroll through an art gallery (Decorazon and many more), the Bishop Arts has it all. This wonderland lives in the middle of a small neighborhood in Oak Cliff. Friendly neighbors can be seen having BBQ's in their backyards or hanging with friends on their porches. Park along the neighborhood streets or get lucky and find a parking space in front of your favorite shop. Don't miss the first Thursday of every month where shops and galleries stay open allowing for the fun to last into the night. Folks sit outside on chairs enjoying the night air and a little conversation. Stop by Soda Shop Gallery for a tasty old school pop or flip through your favorite comic book at Broomstick Comics located in the Soda Shop. Head down to Zola's where the owner invites talented (and pretty freakin' cool) jewelry makers to hold trunk shows. If you stop in on a Friday evening, be sure to take your appetite to Eno's for amazing pizza, tasty apps, home-brewed beer, and live music. I wish my lease was up so I could move here! (The neighborhood -- Not Eno's... unless they have an apartment on top!)
