Dante Aperitivo Bar

The positives: The atmosphere and vibe is really cute, although it is a bit cramped in there. The apps that we tried were all good: we got the radicchio/apple salad, fritto misto, and scallop crudo. The agnolotti was really delicious as well, as were the cocktails. The flourless chocolate cake was also divine. The negatives: We got the lobster bucatini and the steak, two of the most expensive dishes on the menu, which both left a lot to be desired. The lobster was fishy and it was extremely pricy at $85. They said it was a portion for 2 people but it was the same size as lobster pasta I've had elsewhere in the city that cost around $45. The steak tasted weird - hard to describe how exactly but it turned all 4 of us off. It was $48 and no one wanted to eat it. Quite disappointing because I love steak and lobster. In short, it's a very cute spot for drinks, apps, and dessert, but if you're looking to spend big bucks on fancy entrees, go elsewhere.

Fantastic addition to the Dante family. Top quality food alongside the usual amazing Dante cocktails. Even though it’s very new, the atmosphere has been wonderful both nights we’ve been. Busy but not crowded and loud without being noisy. If you’re coming just for drinks ask for the two window bar seats by the back door for some great people watching and a little bit of privacy.

gorgeous as always! love the caviar tart. More of a cozy, homey vibe than other Dante locations which is really lovely. Of course the drinks are always perfection, love the fall seasonal menu

A simply divine experience… I decided to celebrate my birthday here, and it was a great choice. The cocktails exceeded my expectations, and the selection of dishes was spectacular… not to mention the staff, who made me feel right at home. Thank you, Dante, for the wonderful experience.

Staff from Dante made an unsolicited phone call to see how our visit was. What started out as a pleasant interaction quickly became defensive and hysterical monologue from the staff. While the food was a bit salty, the follow up phone call was a complete reversal of Dante’s usual hospitality standard. She lectured us and insisted we tell the staff next time and attempted to convince us to recommend this location to friends. Unapologetically defensive and clearly not seeking feedback but left loyal customers feeling bad about the interaction. Completely detrimental to the reputation for service other Dante locations have earned.

Staff are attentive, cocktails are perfect, and the food even better. Feels intimate and chic from the decor to the ambiance - We spend all our special days at Dante’s!!

Drinks were excellent. Don’t come here for anything else - worst food I’ve had at any restaurant in my 15+ years living in New York. Undercooked fish, overcooked pasta, tasteless dishes. Massively overpriced - if prices were lower I’d have some sympathy. Too loud, too - needs more soft surfaces.
