I didnโ€™t really enjoy my experience at this wine bar, although Iโ€™ll say the staff were friendly. That said, they didnโ€™t come across as very professional. We ordered a glass of 2021 Riesling as listed on the menu, but they brought us a 2023 without any explanation or acknowledgment of the change. We didnโ€™t make a fuss at the time, but it left a bad impression. If the vintage isnโ€™t available, at the very least it should be communicated. It felt careless, especially for a place thatโ€™s supposed to be focused on wine. Overall, we didnโ€™t feel it was worth going back. Not recommended.

Fantastic gem in an otherwise noisy area. Here you can enjoy nice wines (and other drinks), alongside homemade snacks which are really tasty - and you can have a conversation without shouting. Bartenders are super nice too, always give great recommendations! Top bar!

We went to this wine bar but walked past it several times before we found it because it had a very low-key looking door in the wall. Once inside the decor was very stylish and elegant minimalist. We were impressed by the long list of some very lovely wines by the glass. The food was a different matter, however. The snacks were priced as mains and were very meagre in their portion size. Our cheese board was tiny. However this was a lovely wine bar with a lovely ambience and friendly staff. Certainly, it's worth a visit.

Vitis is a wine bar in Central with a diverse selection, including rare bottles in their upstairs cellar. Customers can order wines by the glass or bottle and enjoy wine-food pairings. The food menu goes beyond bar snacks. The white wine pairings were refreshing, while the red wine complemented the meat dishes nicely. Overall, the wine, food pairings, services, and experience impressed me. Recommended๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

I went with a friend for predinner drink around 6pm (they just open at that time). Highball was very good, big ice, high quality glass, precooled whisky. Then we noticed they have plenty of gins, so after the highball classic we asked the owner (Japanese lady) for suggestions of a couple of unusual gins. After some thinking, my buddy settled on a saffron one red in colour and I went for an italian tomato one (in the pics, if you are interested). I had it with ice and he added soda. Btw the bar is made of granite or some kind of stone, I liked that. 1h, 2 people, 4 high quality drinks, nice setting, around hkd500 total, perfect.

Google
A special themed roastery popup in the bar today featuring hand drip coffee. Great coffee tasting with a variety of coffees from all over the world. A must try with the light roasted Panama Hue Finca la Aurora geisha washed Of course, if you are in the stronger roast type the syphoned Hawaii Greenwell Farms KONA pea berry washed is an another excellent must try.

Great collection of whiskey and wine. Love the cozy and quiet vibe. Had a relaxing time. Service was good overall but one of the staff frequently interrupts and asked if we wanted more drinks

Yelp
Whisky bars are hard to come by, but this one is indeed among the best. Coupled with a selection that would make any whisky lover swoon and the most intimate of ambiances, Nocturne is as fitting as a name as any. Before sliding doors were a thing throughout HK, Nocturne had their sliding door entrance game down big time. The door opens up to a somber palace of whiskydom, complete with a stone slate bar and the kind of setting that feels distinctly Japanese with a pseudo speakeasy feel. The bartenders are local guys usually, but they're greeting incoming patrons in Japanese as if Soho were suddenly Shibuya. Through the years it's been glasses of Yamazaki left and right, while I've dabbled with a bit of Hakushu and Hibiki. The bartenders do it just right and their recommendations are on point. I will sample everything they give but be careful -- like any good whisky bar, the drinks add up. After a series of drinks, it's easy to blow anywhere from $800-1200HKD, which is all the more reason to sip slowly and enjoy every taste. They have a wine selection, but to be honest, I've never bothered. That might be a better option for the slightly noisier floor upstairs, but all of my experiences have been at the bar interacting with the bartenders. The place is rarely popping with people; I imagine the price point may play a big factor in this or perhaps Nocturne just hasn't become a household name just yet. The art of the drink, the age of the whisky, and the presence of good company have never led me astray. Nocturne is a special place in HK but certainly not original. Any serious whiskyhead should consider a visit. They accept credit cards and there is a minimum 200HKD spend per person.

Yelp
This is my new favorite bar. I almost didn't want to yelp it but I felt like I should contribute to the Yelp HK cause. I always walked past this place not really knowing what it was- and when a friend recommended coming over for a chill Friday night drink, it was love at first sight. The place is similar to a speak easy- but I noticed they decided to put their name on the front now. The place has their menu and descriptions on a Samsung tablet. (True Japanese would use Sony!) However if you are Samsung illiterate like myself, you can always ask the kind people at the bar. The Japanese lady had recommended some different whiskeys that we have never had and it was delicious. On Monday-Thursday they also offer a Japanese and Taiwanese whisky tasting at an affordable price. Thats right- KAVALAN TASTING! Go Taiwan! Service was great and it was chill which is rare for HK on a Friday night. I will for sure be recommending my out of town friends and whisky lover friends to check this place out.

Yelp
The Nocturne is one of my favorite Whisky bars in Hong Kong. This little place is located at the bottom of Peel street. You may walk by as the entrance is inconspicuous. The setting is modern elegant, with a few tables and a larger bar area. The lights are always dimmed which makes a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The Nocturne is run by Japanese, service is excellent, attentive and very knowledgeable. Their extensive menu is presented on a tablet. The wine list is extensive concentrating on reds and whites from France. You will even find some rare vintages. Prices are moderate! The selection of Whisky's is huge, for a whisky lovers this is paradise. Especially the selection for Scotch is fantastic, you will need some time to study the menu. If you're looking for Japanese Whisky's there's a decent selection as well. The Nocturne is of course expensive but not more than any other bars in the area and of this caliber.

Yelp
Solid whiskey bar for the SoHo area of Hong Kong. Respectable collection of international whiskeys with attentive staff and classy ambiance. Selection could use some expansion though and I had to coach the staff a bit on how to customize my selection of items whiskey and cocktails (maybe a language thing) but that's what keeps me from giving 5 stars.

Yelp
Nocturne has a great ambiance. It's pretty spacious for guests and everything is modern and clean. It's a great place for those that plan to only drink wine or whisky and NOT cocktails. Reason being Nocturne has a pretty extensive list for wines and whiskies, but they can only make one handful of cocktails including old fashion, mimosa, and a pineapple version of mimosa (can't recall what they call it but it's similar to mimosa). I'm a cocktail kinda gal when I go out, unless I had already plan ahead of time to go with just wine or just whisky. I also tend to judge a place on how good their bartending skills are, thus for Nocturne, it was not anything to judge or base it on especially when the woman couldn't really tell me the difference between their mimosa orange drink vs. their mimosa-like pineapple drink but that one is orange and one is pineapple (which I already knew from reading the menu...). Oh yea, beware that there is a $200 minimum per person here. Not to say that $200 is hard to hit in HK since drinks in HK are easily $105-150 per pop, but when I was already disappointed in their cocktail selection after venturing all the way out there on a rainy day, I was planning to change venue and check out another place but was then forced to stay due to the minimum charge that I was not aware of when I sat down and ordered my first drink. Not a huge deal, but definitely would have been nice to know ahead of time. I was not having this place towards the end when the male bartender started speaking to us in Chinese, I talked back in English as if I don't speak any Chinese at all, but then he just kept speaking more Chinese but just towards my friend and ignored me. Nice one.

Yelp
Nocturne is one of those places where you can easily become a regular. At least in my opinion, I would love to be able to come here regularly. They are nondescript from the outside, if you didn't know where you were going, you could so easily get lost. It is just behind a wooden door and a stone wall with a small window where you can barely see what's going on inside. When you go in, you are greeted by a Japanese lady. The few times I have been here, we sat at the bar. It's my favourite thing to do. This bar is full is Japanese malts and whiskies, as well as other scotches from different regions. I usually like to tell the japanese lady what I prefer and let her recommend, however the last time i went, i realised that they have a new e-menu which gives you all the descriptions of the drinks. The bartender is extremely knowledgable and knows exactly what she has and what is suitable for each person. I have never been upstairs but was told it's a wine bar. Since I am more of a whisky person, I just stay downstairs. The bar is not very big and only have a few seats, so on weekends normally it is quite busy. The downside of it is that... it closes too early for a bar! If only they stayed opened later.
