"4 Pines Brewing Company One of the pioneers of the Sydney craft beer scene, 4 Pines opened in 2008 in a space that overlooks the shores and famous Norfolk pine trees of Manly Beach—one of the city's dreamiest locations for a brewery. The upstairs brewpub serves the whole 4 Pines range of natural beers, which includes a hefeweizen, Kölsch, pale, amber, bitter, stout, IPA, and the Keller Door (a small-batch seasonal release that intends to challenge the beer industry). Order a tasting flight to determine your favorite. The brewery also offers a full menu of not-so-typical pub grub and operates a downstairs bunker for more innovative food and drink pairings. Live music, DJs, and comedians regularly lighten the mood, if the salty sea breezes aen’t enough."

Visited 4 Pines Brewpub Manly, and it was everything you’d want from a coastal brewery. The craft beers were excellent — crisp, flavorful, and perfectly chilled. The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful, with sea breeze coming through and locals enjoying their evening. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about the brews, offering great recommendations. It’s the kind of place that captures the spirit of Manly — good beer, good people, and ocean views. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sydney’s northern beaches.

Walking back to the ferry terminal from the beach in drizzly weather, I spotted a cheerful buzz on the veranda. Finding out it was a brewery made me curious, so we went inside. Despite it being that awkward time just before evening, the place was nearly full. Everyone seemed to be happily enjoying their beer. A balcony seat became available, so we moved there and ordered recommended beers and food for the 5pm happy hour. We asked the cheerful, lively staff for samples of several varieties and chose what suited our mood that day. The fried food was a bit greasy, perhaps not properly dried, but it paired perfectly with a crisp, refreshing beer and a fruity one? No problem. We had a lovely time chatting with the group seated next to us.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere at 4 Pines BrewPub in Manly. It felt just like a hometown brewery I’d regularly visit back in the States — relaxed, welcoming, and full of character. The 4 Pines Pacific Ale perfectly matched my beer taste. If you enjoy beers like Corona or Pacifico in the U.S., this is right in that smooth, refreshing lane and easy to enjoy with a meal. The food was excellent as well. I ordered the classic burger, and it was more than enough to leave you feeling full and satisfied. The fries were a standout — hot, crispy, and cooked just right. This is a must-visit spot for anyone traveling to Manly or Sydney from overseas. You won’t be disappointed. If you can, come for a sunset dinner — the balcony offers a great view as the sun goes down. It’s also conveniently located with easy access to the Manly ferry, making it a perfect stop during your day or evening out.

I had an amazing experience at Four Pines Manly and it was all thanks to Alf. From the moment I walked in, he made me feel genuinely welcomed. There was nothing forced or fake about his service — he’s one of those rare people who can make you feel like you’ve known them for years even if you’ve only just met. Throughout the night, he checked in at the perfect times without ever being intrusive. He remembered what I liked, made great recommendations, and really went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and enjoying myself. What stood out most was his personality: he’s warm, genuine, funny, and clearly loves what he does. You can tell he takes real pride in his work, and it makes the whole atmosphere of the bar feel better because of it. Alf isn’t just good at his job — he makes the entire experience feel special. Staff like him are the reason people come back. Four Pines is incredibly lucky to have someone with his character, passion, and care on the team.

Silky smooth stout, and what a vibe at this place! Bustling with people making lively conversation, we sat here for a drink and break from the long walk to Manly and enjoyed every minute of it. Would've loved to have more beers which were some of the more affordable ones we've seen in Sydney.

Great drinks, wonderful vibes and quality bites. Enjoyed a taster and some apps. Everything was high quality and delicious. Loved the patio dining. Much chiller atmosphere than some other nearby spots. Great for sharing with friends.

Banging little joint! Great beer options and a fantastic host of bar people to help you choose. They also have a wide selection of food, we had the burger and fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it! Pub food at its best! Highly recommend

A great selection of on site brewed beers and option for a tasting paddle. Staff snow to assist with discussion of what beers to have. The stout was very good and the rice lager was refreshing! Indoor and outdoor seating, even when busy can find a table. We didn’t have any food but the roast dinners looked good coming out for all the locals.
