ORDERED: 1,500,000 ₫ / ~$87.00aud omakase set REVIEW: My cousin found this omakase place off TikTok. As others have mentioned, the seafood isn't particularly fresh because some of my sashimi had a fishy aftertaste and was a little chewy. 🐟 🔪 The chef's knife skills were... interesting. Usually chefs make a clean cut through the sashimi, but I watched as a chef at Sushi Taka was sawing into the flesh (in 2 motions). Perhaps the knife wasn't sharp enough, but avoiding a clean cut impacts the fragile texture of it. This might've led to my slightly chewy kingfish. ⭐ Although the service was engaging at first (proactively introducing the dishes), it dropped off after that and the waitress resorted to just placing our dishes in front of us. It would be great if they continued the engaging service. Overall, to me Sushi Taka felt less like a personalised, intimate dining experience and leaned more into a casual, approachable environment. Definitely see why some reviewers are saying they would come back here for casual drinks and eats. 🍸

I came back to this amazing Omakase restaurant for the second time this month and once again, it completely won me over. Every dish was not just delicious, but crafted with so much care and attention that you can truly feel the passion behind it. The chefs were incredibly warm and generous, even surprising us with a few off-menu treats that made the night extra special. The service was attentive, and the whole atmosphere felt cozy and joyful like sharing a beautiful meal with close friends. Truly an experience worth cherishing 🍣🥢

Excellent Omakase Sushi Experience! This was our second time dining here (July 2025), and it was just as incredible as the first. The seafood was top-quality and absolutely delicious. The chef and staff were attentive, explaining each dish and even showing us the best way to enjoy them. We’ll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great Japanese food.

Had the most amazing omakase experience! The food was super good - every dish was thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully presented. But what truly made the night memorable was Peter, the owner. He’s not just skilled in his craft, but also a genuine and engaging host. Peter really knows how to connect with his guests - from sharing his culinary journey to making us feel completely at ease. You can tell he’s passionate not just about food, but about people too. Thank you Peter and team :)

Visited Sushi Taka around 8:30pm - quite late, but the staff still managed to serve quickly, and luckily I had a reservation so I got a seat at the bar. I went for the 1,500k omakase set after seeing reviews on TikTok and Google. - 3 appetizers (octopus with wasabi, wagyu beef, unagi jelly): 5/10, nothing special. - Sashimi (6–7 types): 6/10. The shrimp wasn’t very fresh, texture was mushy instead of firm. Other fish were just average. - Grilled fish: 4/10 - disappointing for an omakase, more like something I’d expect at an izakaya. - Wagyu beef: 7/10. - Steamed egg: 6/10. - Sushi: 5/10. The balance between rice, fish, wasabi, and sauce didn’t quite come together. - Matcha pudding: 3/10. Overall: 5/10. The space is nice, so I might come back for à la carte dishes, but I wouldn’t repeat the omakase experience.

IMO, the price and quality has met my expectations. Chef is friendly and he should have more stories to tell. However, it was a busy Monday evening and I better leave him to do his job. The area is a "Japanese" theme alley. You have to alight and walk in. With a mix of Izakayas & "SPAs" lining both sides of the street.

Absolutely great! Fish was very good quality and greatly sliced. Flavors spot on. I think after trying a lot of new sushi places, this restaurant offers such a better deal than more glamorous places, that are only good for pictures… got a new favorite
