"Hamilton Grange “It’s quiet uptown.” So sings founding father Alexander Hamilton in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical. While those ticket prices are still astronomical, it’s free to visit and tour Hamilton’s uptown home in Harlem—named the Grange after his grandfather’s Scotland estate and now a National Historic Landmark. Rather like Hamilton, the two-story Federal home has had a turbulent history, including a few moves, most recently in 2008 to St. Nicholas Park, within the boundaries of Hamilton’s original 32-acre estate. The period rooms were renovated in 2011, and 13 sweet gum trees planted outside, just as Hamilton had done in honor of the original colonies."

The least interesting part of this park, mostly just a waypoint to start walking the park and the college. There is no season that this walk is not incredible. I've done it in heavy snow, downpours, at night (now) etc. and it's always great. Go halfway back down the park and then wind through the college and wonder why they built a literal castle to teach 18 year olds in

It was interesting to not only learn about Alexander Hamilton, but the house itself. Thr park rangers were very knowledgeable and super nice. The volunteer did a very good for someone still in high school. I highly recommend a visit here, especially if you're interested in American history.

Highly recommend to join the guided tour (free!) so you can see the rooms upstairs as they are the spirit of the house. Tour guide and rangers are all knowledgeable and friendly. The house is very well maintained. Full of history. Walking distance from the subway station. The garden is lovely to walk around too. If you are a fan of Hamilton or American history, you gotta be in the room where it happens :)

We had an amazing tour guide. You basically go into 3 rooms and the other two have displays. Several authentic pieces. Lots of information. It was amazing seeing the video of the house being moved.

This was a great exhibit. The basement has information about his life and a movie. You can visit the main house with a ranger (tours seemed to go hourly on the half hour). Really worth the visit and please support our NPS!

We visited on a weekday, there were a few others visiting, but no wait to enter. We missed the tour by minutes, but we toured the small exhibit area and watched two short movies. It was very interesting to see how the house was moved from its original location a block and a half away. Quite an undertaking. There is a small store with the usual park stuff as well as lots of books. It is accessible, with wide entrances, accessible bathroom and an elevator! NO parking on site. Street parking was challenging. The park next to the memorial is beautiful.

Great staff and tour guide. If you enjoy history and appreciate looking at antiques, then you’ll enjoy visiting here. Clean, charming, and informative displays throughout the home. There was no entrance fee, so I made sure to stop at the souvenir shop.

With our group of 10 people we had to make a reservation 2 weeks in advance. That message wasn't forwarded but the staff was very accommodating and took us at the requested tour time. We were also fortunate to have the best ever Grange tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, of course, but also had great enthusiasm and humor. I had been planning this trip for a long time and the park staff made this extraordinary site a genuine pleasure. Thanks NPS!
