Great spot! The rooms were clean and housekeeping came by every day we were fully equipped with everything we need in the room including water. The amenities were lovely and the spa was amazing! I recommend staying in the yucca suite super nice! I almost didn’t book this place because of some of the negative comments but that was not our experience at all! Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs. I stayed in a deluxe room, and everything was very clean and well kept. I loved the 1950s style of the resort. The room was quiet, and the bed was comfortable, which made it easy to relax and get good rest. The amenities were nice and added to the overall experience, but the highlight was definitely the staff. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. It made the stay feel easy and comfortable from start to finish. I’d happily stay here again.

Currently you have to have expectation management with the Riviera. I had no bad experiences in fact service was very good. I was there attending a conference on business. The grounds and conference center were very nice. There weren't many tourists there as it was midweek after a holiday weekend. The pools were very quiet. Everything on the outside says 4 star resort. The expectation management comes with the rooms and what building you are in. I was in building 4, top floor. The decor was confused as I assume it was an old Margaritaville room. Very few tech amenities in the room. Bed was comfy and HVAC worked as expected. Nothing to write home about. It's a 2star room until the renovations are complete. If you keep expectations in check I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you expect a high end 4 star room with emenitites you will be.

Over all this is a good place to relax and stay. The amenities are great. It's definitely an original mid century modern hotel. No elevator in some room clusters. Great service though and a perfect location for that downtown Palm Springs vibe. Some of the room clusters look very up to date and others definitely need attention. Ours has a great mountain view that is priceless. Parking is self parking and in and out with no questions asked. Did smell herb a few nights but not a problem. Ricks restaurant is very close and food there is excellent.

This resort was very nice. The room was clean and the staff helpful. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and clean although only one jacuzzi was working at the time. They don't charge for pets, it's included in the price and that is awesome although there is a $100 incidental hold fee that I wasn't made aware of until I got there. You get it back once you leave.

We spent Super Bowl Sunday at the lounge and had the absolute best service and time. The staff were kind and had fun festive stuff like little footballs and bunny ears to wear in fun for the Bad Bunny halftime show. Idalis was especially wonderful!! I asked if she could make me a mocktail and gave her full creative power. She created the most wonderful ever. I’m actually kind of scared I’ll never have it again because it was that good! I’m now calling it Idalis Lemonade - she muddled dragonfruit with raspberries and lemon juice and some other things and garnished it with mint. So delicious 😋 This needs to be menu staple! I’m sure it would be so good as an alcoholic drink as well by adding in some vodka or something. Thank you!!

I arrived to my room and had to carry my luggage up a narrow, steep staircase, which was already inconvenient. At first, I was pleased to see how spacious the room was—until I noticed a half-eaten cracker on the floor next to the bed. Not exactly what you want to find when you walk in. It was hard not to wonder how housekeeping could have missed something so obvious… until I realized a dirty sheet had been placed (or left) on the bed as well. The bathroom didn’t improve things. I learned the next morning that a shower curtain is, in fact, necessary. Water went everywhere, and I nearly fell as I slid across the soaked floor. That unfortunate moment also gave me a close-up view of the grimy sink and visible water damage on the lower part of the walls, which were crumbling. Overall, I find it a stretch to call this property a “resort.” It’s clearly in need of serious updates and better attention to cleanliness. I’m relieved that our conference will no longer be held here in the future. I do want to reiterate that the staff themselves were lovely. But unfortunately, great service can’t make up for a room that doesn’t meet basic standards of cleanliness or safety.

I went here on a girl's trip with three of my friends. It was our first time altogether out of town in like sixteen years. I cannot be more happy with our decision to stay at this hotel. The staff was amazing.The pool was awesome and the food was pretty good. I wanna give a shout out to Winston with security. He was so nice and made our stay even better and went out of his way to give us recommendations and help us enjoy the best possible stay. The rest of the staff was absolutely lovely as well with smiles and it really felt like they enjoyed working there. And also Carlos the bartender in the restaurant also pretty great. We will be back.

This is an amazing place to get away from it all and just relax. We've been there several times and it's our go-to for a night away from reality and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Love this place!

We stayed here for a weekend trip to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and had such a great experience from start to finish. Amelia at the front desk made check-in especially memorable -- she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and helped set the tone for a really special weekend. Our suite was clean, comfortable, and very inviting -- perfect for us and our pup. The property itself is huge and beautifully maintained. We stayed in the 4th building near the pool, which was convenient but still quiet and relaxing. The rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a patio with two Adirondack chairs, and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The pool area was consistently clean and well cared for throughout the weekend. We also loved spending time at the Circa 59 bar -- Addam was fantastic, and we really enjoyed chatting with him during our stay. We're already planning a return trip once renovations are complete. I highly recommend this resort for a couples getaway or even a group trip. Being pet-friendly is a huge bonus too. 10/10 experience! Don't let these other awful reviews fool you, this place was the best.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. The heat didn't work, they had no extra blankets, the shower was dirty and leaking, next room, the bathroom door fell off the hinge, hitting my partner and a chair collapsed under me leaving my back sore. Wrote a letter to the manager and the GM called twice they wouldn't even call me back.. They "upgraded" us but then charged for it anyway and the hot water didn't work in the shower. When I confronted staff, they admitted the property is in desperate need of renovation and will be remodeled soon. I have been there many times over the years and it was a good hotel. Save your money stay at the Motel 6 it will be nicer.

Absolute scam - avoid this hotel. My partner stayed here with her family and the experience was a nightmare from the start. They arrived late at night and were forced to pay a hidden destination fee that was never disclosed anywhere. The night manager, Sean, threatened to cancel the reservation and leave them on the street if they did not pay immediately. This was intimidation, not customer service. Afterwards, the hotel refused to return the deposit, clearly as retaliation. What was supposed to be a vacation turned into a stressful and upsetting experience. Hidden fees, threats, and zero accountability. Do not stay here.

Stayed here recently on a weekend visit. We were in building 4 overlooking the quieter pool. It's an older property and does show its age in spots. The bathroom doors were weird and I hated the motion light by the door. The walls are thin so you can hear activities in other rooms. For the age and type of property we felt it was fine. The quiet pool worked well for us and we did have one meal at the front pool bar which was very good. We had our dogs and this is a pet friendly hotel so there will be dogs on sight. No issues as far as the pets go.

about a mile away from the main palm springs downtown...still walkable...have stayed in the past over decades ago, but apparently has changed ownership back and forth...the front staff were pleasant for check-in...parking recommendations and room location explained...the hotel or resort is a circular structure with multiple buildings connected through short outdoor walkways...pool situated in the center...one thing was apparent...not much has changed...resort is in need of a full renovation...the rooms are quite dated and worn...working, but needs a major refresh...pool area was still nice with heated waters...gym appears to have been removed...just a spa and restaurant seen...resort fees were waived during our december 2025 visit, so that was a plus...rooms could use better housekeeping and cleaning...same for all the hallways and buildings...

Rebranded from Margaritaville to Riviera Resort, this hotel still suffers from lack of maintenance which is a shame as it's a nice resort. The common areas of the facility is well maintained, but the buildings itself needs some serious maintenance. The carpets should just be removed as they stink (occasionally you will see a staff person walk with air freshener spraying as they walk in the corridor). In 2022, I stayed in building five, second floor with a non working ice-machine and as lightning struck again, this time I was assigned to building 5, second floor and the ice machine still broken. The room itself, the bed, lighting fridge and K-Cup works nice. Room was spacious and the round table was perfect for work. But, room needs a good deep cleaning. the A/C vent in the room and in the bathroom was full of dust, the shower curtain was hanging by a single screw, the water temperature was not constant, and the carpet was smelly. This property is huge, and the common areas are well maintained. But the property owner will need a huge investment to re-decor and fix the broken equipment.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was big and comfortable. All the staff that we had contact with were very helpful and friendly. I did hear that there was going to be a major renovation - a possible teardown and rebuild?   If that's what is going to happen, I hope the remodel has some of the original essences of the 1957 style of Mid-Century Modernism mixed with current arcticture style of warm moderism.   Please also visit Sante Spa - I fell in love with Daniel - he was incredible - 10 out of 10!   Please book a massage at the spa while the hotel is still open and ask for Daniel!

I've read the reviews now hear me out: This hotel is excellent if you're bringing your pupper. The staff is EXTREMELY welcoming, everyone was SO NICE, and we didn't have to pay extra to bring my spoiled king. This is not the hotel for you if you're not bringing your fur child, because as you can imagine the hallways smell like doggy. Hope this helps you with your decision, outside of that the grounds seemed like a normal hotel, late night pool hours are a plus. We had an amazing time. oh also i was pleasantly surprised with the pool food, actually really good. would definitely come again .

I truly expected to enjoy my stay at this hotel, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had. The first room I was given had blood on the door and a broken bolt lock, completely unacceptable and unsafe. I immediately contacted the front desk, sent them photos, and told them I didn't feel comfortable staying in that room. After a long drive, the last thing anyone wants to do is unload all their belongings only to pack them back up again because the room is unsafe. They moved me to another room, but unfortunately, the problems continued. The second room was dirty, had a dead spider on the wall, another non-functioning lock, and even a wasp the size of my hand flying around. The walls were stained, and there was only one set of towels. I called guest services around 15 times both from the room and my cell phone and my boyfriend's cell phone with no answer. I finally had to walk to the front desk myself to ask for towels, only to receive one that had a large dirty stain on it. It's clear the hotel prioritizes appearance only from the outside. The lobby and entrance look decent, but the rooms are poorly maintained and neglected. Even the "welcome" note from the manager in the room was dirty, which just made the entire experience feel careless and unprofessional. The toilet paper roll wasn't even replaced properly, it looked reused from a previous guest. This hotel needs serious upgrades, proper cleaning, and better management. I will not be returning and would strongly advise others to reconsider before booking. P.s. I used the ironing board behind the door just to make me feel safer. On the bright side: The staff is amazing.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Unprofessional staff. Amelia at the front desk has her jacket tied around her waist in a customer facing position. Manager Dustin, arms loaded with tattoos wearing a short sleeve shirt In a customer facing position, tattoos should be covered up in a customer facing position. In the professional world that is... Ada room sliding bathroom door off the hinges. No heat . Even the engineer could not fix it. We asked for extra blankets, they were out of extra blankets because other guests had th same problem...we were so cold. Spiders, roaches in the room. the dispenser in the shower is not secured in the wall correctly. The room was not inspected by housekeeping or engineering to make it is in working order. I paid nearly $1000.00 for a dumpy room. In my opinion, this place should have a wrecking ball to level it.

Monday August 18th, Left early to get out of LA for a relaxing weekend, and boy, that is NOT what I got. Pre-Checked in around 11am, knowing my room would not be ready, but would hang out at the pool and have some lunch. Well.........the main large pool (Paradise) was closed. Apparently, there was a HUGE party over the weekend. So, I had to go the the step-pool. (the oasis) Fine, I didn't mind, until the Riff Raff showed up. There was a guy ( I Have video) obviously left over Carneys from the weekend and he had his GIANT boom box BLASTING Techno Trash. Seriously, so loud, and just a constant BANG BANG BANG all day long........ Then more of his carney friends showed up, vaping, and drinking and dancing. I love loud music, but that techno was not pool friendly. Then a nice family came to the pool with a young verbally challenged child and the carneys didn't care. The worst part was the bartender didn't give one shit. Oh, when I got there, she was obviously not open yet, and doing side work, but I wanted to ask where the towels/bathroom was and she ducked around the frozen slushy maker. I said excuse me, I'm not ordering a drink, where's the bathroom/towels. The pointed. Not words, no greeting. So that showed me she didn't care. She had earbuds in and was reading a book, so she obviously didn't hear the horrible music. I made no more contact with her, so didn't get her name. (heard on tuesday that someone called out to "heat exhaustion" I would bet $100 it was that bartender.) Also, not one manager came by the entire day, unless I missed them and if they did, they did nothing about the horrendous music. I went to the front desk about 3pm to see if my room may be ready and told them about the carneys. She said do you want me to call security? I said, no I don't want to get anyone in trouble. I wish I would of said yes. It was just a horrible day trying to relax. 4pm I went to the front because contractually, my room should be ready. No sir, it's not ready yet. We had a busy weekend and housekeepers are doing the best they can. I understand, but not one room, not one was ready? I said I'd take any room. None available. I call bullshit. So went back to the dungeon. (oasis pool) About 4:45, got a call my room was ready. I could not leave the oasis pool fast enough. Checking me in, they said ok "Mr. Gonzalez".......LOL. no, Mr. Potter When pre-checking in, I asked if I have a preference. I said, on 2nd floor so nobodys above me. Checked into my room......... On the 1st floor. Seems like the carneys went to town on the ice machine, as the carpet was soaked, with towels soaking up the previous weekend and a kitchen mat on top of that. The grate was missing on the ice machine and it did not look too sanitary, that's the concern. I did Not use that ice machine. Then I asked if the big pool will be open tomorrow and she said, probably closed all week. I was ready to check out. "employees are only as knowledgeable with the information mgmt gives them" Inform your staff before they start what's open, closed, important etc. The room seemed very nice and clean........... (found bandaid pasties and large piece of glitter in the bathroom the next day) The tub stopper was a piece of plastic from the dollar tree. I don't think thats the IHG standard. oh, and there was not enough hot water to fill up the tub to my big toe, so aborted a relaxing bath. Had to leave the shower running for 10 min before it got hot enough to rinse off. The paradise pool was lovely. Sans the landscapers Then wanted a HOT jacuzzi to try and relax and it wasn't even bathtub warm. I called the front and got a hold of David and he apologized and said he would look into it. Went out later that night and it was even colder. I give up. I'm a Dodger fan and wanted to watch the game at the Hotel instead of a bar/casino, but my tv did not have it. I went to front bar and asked if they could put it on. They said you can watch it at Circa, but went there and they said the "cable was out" LOL So, back to the front lobby bar. Luckly Dorrian walked by and asked if he could help me. He was the most helpful caring person at the hotel and he helped another staff member get the Dodger game on. So, I caught the last few innings and was happy. (no sound tho) Had a good night sleep, thinking, ok, tomorrow will be better. It was......a little. Tuesday August 19th Went to the cafe (by the lobby) and got a hot mocha and there were no pastries on display, and asked if there were any, she said yes. I got a chocolate muffin. Got to my room and the muffin was Frozen. here we go.......whatever. No healthy fresh fruit available. Had a relaxing pool day (except for the landscapers using crane, chainsaws, shredder to prune the palm trees and no jacuzzi) and asked Derrek at the pool bar if he could get the dodger game on at 5:30, he said sure. He was awesome. So, came back at 5:30, had a burger and watched the game. Then I got sick. nd pt 2

If I could give a zero stars, I would. Worst experience I've ever had. Check in is at 4 and arrived at 7 pm. Was told my room was not ready. Asked for a late check out and kept they telling me to call the next day. On checkout day, was told they don't give late checkouts. The rooms its self is not great for the price. There was a motion sensor light in the room that you cannot turn off. Everytime you toss and turned in the bed the light would turn on.

Wow! I'm surprised to see this resort has such a poor rating as I primarily loved my stay here. My friends and I booked a two queen bed room and stayed for two nights. Our room was clean and the only issue we encountered was that our upstairs neighbor sounded like an elephant in the early morning. Not sure why it was so loud. We loved the pool area and had no issues getting chairs near the pool. It was peaceful and I enjoyed being able to kick back and read poolside. We also liked the fun photo spots around the resort.

This place was AWFUL. At the pool a heavy umbrella fell over and smashed my husband in the head. He went to the room to call for help and our phone didn't work! It was totally cut off, I ran to the front desk and they said they "were too busy to help and would send s a medical bag to the room to give attention". I ran back and they knocked on the door and gave us a FINGER bandaid! And left! Then he tried to watch tv to relax and our internet was down so I went BACK to the front desk and they told me "we're too busy, we can't help you" I asked "can you help us at all?" They said "we're sorry we're fully booked there's nothing we can do". I explained that my husband was bleeding and couldn't even call for help and they insisted that they were still too busy to help. I said that I thought he had a concussion and they didn't care whatsoever. They didn't help, they didn't offer medical support, they didn't comp our room, offer us free meal or even CARE! This place DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS GUESTS. They were extremely rude to me, were careless, and basically told me that we were unconvincing them after I paid $490 A NIGHT PER ROOM. The worst part is that I can't even find an email address to fight the charges that we feel we were unjustly charged for IN FULL after this horrible experience. Do not stay here!!!!

The Riviera has gone downhill. It's old and tired and room was filthy. I complained and they up graded me but no discount for the first day. Staff was nice but never contact by the GM. Food and drink prices are high.

A mix of highs and lows, so let's start with the highs: - Staff here is generally outstanding and accommodating, attentive to anything I asked. IHG members get plenty of perks so don't be shy about asking for things like later checkouts and room upgrades. Was really impressed with them property wide. - My room was clean and comfortable in general. When I was here, it was a quiet stay as not many were on the property making for a peaceful stay. - Outside on the grounds it is well kept and gives a good, relaxing feeling. Lows: - The property probably crushed in the 90's but doesn't look like much has been done to it since then. Teal colors, furniture and decorative styles feel generally quite outdated. Carpets should be universally replaced throughout the property, pool has chipped tiles all over the place, hallways have stained floors, walls, and generally look rough. - Workout facility has what appears to be rodent droppings and dead bugs underneath a handful of machines and next to the windows - with dust clumps and dirt underneath a handful of machines and the towel rack. - Only one internet connection speed without option for a business upgrade is a bit of a bummer, but this is an admittedly niche concern. - My room didn't have a dresser, so I had nowhere to unpack my clothes /// Overall, the thing that hurts this property the most is the expectations. It's rated a 4 Star hotel, but feels like a solid 3 Star hotel with a somewhat run down facility. I'm not sure how the 4 Star happened. Some upgrades to the property will go far, and adjusting expectations that this is not a 4 Star feeling property will help potential visitors enjoy their experience more. If you're traveling and need a place to stop, are in town for an event for the weekend - you could do a lot worse. It's a pleasant place. But as a destination to come relax, get a romantic weekend in or otherwise have a family space to play at the pool, I'd recommend a few other properties before this one.

This review is mainly about the restaurants at this resort. I was sooooo impressed. Let's start off at License to chill, so good! The portion size and prices. Come Monday for breakfast/ brunch was absolutely delicious! The presentation was also out of this world. My favorite was dinner though. At JDW Grill. We had Shane as our server and he was amazing. Our stay was at a very hot weekend so we didn't get to do much besides eat. We took a bike ride to get boba and enjoyed the scenery. But as far as the pool area, it was packed so we didn't join in on the fun. All the staff here are also very friendly. Daisy was the person that checked us in, very sweet. Diego was very knowledgeable and funny. Shane made our whole trip so yah!

We stayed here just for one night and loved it. I know it's getting somebody views, but for the price you pay, the service was excellent. The food is excellent. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is really accommodating. Sure it's not a five star hotel but you get what you pay for and of course some things are gonna go wrong but for the most part, I love it here.

Dog went missing on property. Cameras were checked but apparently some cameras are old and outdated so not all cameras were working. Security reviewed footage along with police and no sighting of missing Australian Shepherd, Myla. Hotel needs to take accountability and do more with the search of Myla the Australian Shepherd who went missing 8/30/2025 from the hotel room.

So far service as been good but for what we are paying we wouldn't have expected this to be part of the view

I had high hopes for a relaxing experience at this spa, but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment, especially given the $490 price tag for two 90-minute massages (plus tip). While the staff was friendly and apologetic, the spa itself was in shambles and should not be marketed as "open for business" especially since the first paragraph of the website boasts all of these amenities. Here's what we encountered: * The Jacuzzi wasn't heated. * The steam room in the men's locker room was out of service, and staff invited me to use the women's steam room instead. * Neither locker room shower had hot water. * Both locker rooms were in desperate need of repair and didn't even have hand soap--just a large bottle of hand sanitizer. * The "tranquil lounge" was anything but--just a pitcher of water with paper coffee cups. * Massage oil was unscented, making the experience feel sterile. * The spa checkout system was broken, requiring a cumbersome process of charging to a fake room and walking across the property to the front desk to complete payment. When I brought these issues to the manager's attention, I was told he wasn't in charge of the spa and was encouraged to share with the spa staff- which were the ones that informed us of all the inoperable amenities. For a spa at this price point, I expected far better. Unless major improvements are made, I cannot recommend this spa to anyone. Save your time and money. Signs throughout ban photos but given we were the only ones in the entire spa, I felt it fair to take photos to post what it really looks like vs the other 10 year old photos listed on here.

All the staff over 4 days were excellent! This is by far a large property and used to be go by another name before being sold. Upon arrival they had small smoothies you could partake either coconut pina colada , flavored or lime, which were yummy and we appreciated throughout our stay. The lobby is extraordinary in its size and the fact that's a great place to socialize and meet people and then in the upper staircase area there are many mini small seating areas which are great for small intimate conversations with close friends . Definitely the restaurant, the café, and the small place where you can order food and beverages in the lobby is above average and has a very good selection. I found the breakfast in the café to be excellent. Lunch was good as well, and dinner I would say was fair, considering the selection and the variety. One of the major attractions to this location is the pool and they do deliver on great pools. One of the drawbacks was in a heat wave of 108 with little shade and no air mister main pool area was a huge drawback. most people stayed in the pool, the majority of the time withdrew to their hotel rooms. The area around the pool is surrounded by cement and Astroturf. This becomes very hot on a very warm day. Be prepared to wear sandals or flip-flops as the heat from the cement is remarkable. And there is no cool concrete anywhere by the poolside. I ordered a daybed and that was nice. However, the headboard was all metal which again went very hot. Could be a bit of a hazard. They did have some throat pillows, but I would say it was just enough for one so if you have any throat pillows to bring out that you have with you do so . The lone palm tree pool, which is the quieter of the two pools turned into appreciated that in the layout was interesting. The bar area at the pool is the best in the resort and also has misters at the bar with stools . I had to get used to. They're being no dresser , but somehow it all worked out in the closet was located in the bathroom which actually worked out OK. I also use the safe as a place to store clothing. The lighting was excellent and I would say that the bathroom set up was good. The bathtub was classic, but not too elevated. I did appreciate the rack for the towel inside the shower. They do offer a Keurig coffee set up, which I did not use very much but it's nice to have. The refrigerator was interesting and small. It actually froze many my beverages so which did create a rupture in one of the metal water containers that was store-bought. I've heard other complaints from people in the room so I'm sure the refrigerators are need an update throughout the building so be aware and then just let the front desk know if you have an issue with your refrigerator . Haven't had a lot of friends at this hotel one thing that was remarked was that we all had different levels of air-conditioning in our room so be alert and do speak to the front desk if you don't have the right cooling level in yours. It seems some of the buildings have older set ups, mine seems reasonably quiet, but I would not call it quiet, other people Had referred to it as a jet landing when it was shutting on and off, so you may want to bring earplugs as it's central air and it seems to be an older system. The temperature control in my room was excellent so I really got the benefit of it and also keeping the blackout curtains closed . It's a really big building and be aware if you have any ADA issues and do let the front desk know if you need an elevator because not all the buildings have them or request to be on the first floor . The lobby has a ADA accessible routes so that was helpful for one of my friends, but walking around circle around the building is quite the chore for someone in a legs cast. I can tell you that. Overall, it was a good experience. I think there's several restoration projects I saw being done and more to be expected as it's a very large property. I can imagine it takes a lot to maintain. I do expect more from this property in the future as they have opportunity to invest more into the rooms and the quality of the Location.

Nice place to stay. Nice Gym, Sexy Pool, but realize you will pay a $40 daily resort fee.

Been coming here for years with my family even before it was margaritaville, such good workers here but had a very annoying experience with the room key card. They didn't work during our stay! Got at least 3 new cards because they don't open the room and none of them still work. I had my 70 year old grandma with me in the room and I am pregnant, so it's annoying to walk all the way back to the front desk (we were in building 5) because their cards don't open doors. We managed to get one card that worked but on day two it stopped working lol As I'm writing this I was walking back to my building with another new card and it didn't work either, it didn't even let me in the building so now I gotta walk back. We love it here but this technical issue is really inconvenient for a pregnant woman and someone who's handicapped :( our check in was at 4 but we got checked in 15-20 minutes passed that which is fine things happen. Still 4 star review because even the virgin drinks are great, Staff is great and very fun to talk to , property is great and had never had an issue besides this. We've been coming here since I was a kid even through all the new owners and it was still an enjoyable time for us

Our chicken was at 4 o'clock. We got there in our room was not ready till around six. I had to call like three times to check up on the room when we get there and see one of our room. It was dirty from the bathroom the bed area they didn't clean up Me and my family went down to the pool came back upstairs at 10 o'clock and it was still dirty thank the manager off the night for give a clean room

Although the stay could have been better (AC and cleaner pool) the customer service by Annette at the front desk was five stars. She helped us get our issues resolved and made us feel valued. Also, David at Circa 59 made us delicious drinks and provided great customer service. We will be back since its also the best pet friendly hotel around!

We checked in here 6/7/25 for just one night wanting to check out the latest edition to IHG we were on our way to move my mom into memorycare from CA to AZ.. We were greeted as a platinum elite and had early check-in. I was originally in building 5 facing the large HVAC, I can't take ultra low sound frequencies that the huge so I went back to the front desk and Sebastian the manager upon hearing about our trip details upgraded us to a Sage Suite since no other double queens were ready. We went to the pool bar to eat and checked into our suite. Enjoyed the giant pool. The suite was in building 1 and overlooked the pool. We had to delay our checkout because I injured myself and the manager and staff took care of us and I we stayed another night on points. We didn't have to change rooms. They comped us breakfast and lunch during our stay which was very nice of them. We are leaving today 6/9/25 and my sister is meeting me here so we can transport my mom back to Arizona. The staff is great here. Nighttime security also came my room with bandages and first aid supplies. Sebastian and Ryan and all staff were very nice. Night staff was nice. Not sure if those one and two star reviews were real. You do have to rent the cabana area they are not free. Memorial Day was crazy but that's everywhere. They only have high noon seltzers on the menu so if you want white claw there is a 7-11 right across the street. The place and area is kid friendly with lots of attractions around here. We will be back again when we can relax. Fun Facts: The hotel appeared in the 1963 film Palm Springs Weekend, and was popular among celebrities throughout the decade. Those who entertained at the Riviera included Bing Crosby, Jerry Lewis, Dick Contino, and members of the Rat Pack. The property opened in 1959. It included the city's first convention center, and a golf course that operated for the next two decades. Ownership of the resort has changed numerous times since the 1960s. The property has been known as the Riviera for much of its history, sometimes operating under variations such as Holiday Inn-Riviera (1965-1969) and Hilton Riviera (1978-1988), in affiliation with Holiday Inn and Hilton Hotels respectively. On September 27, 2024, the property was sold to California-based Welcome Group Inc. and rebranded once more as the Riviera, in association with IHG Hotels & Resorts

I enjoyed my stay but don't expect the Ritz Carlton. It's do for a repair/update but I don't know when it will happen. The staff was very nice Beds were clean and comfortable. Nice size room and mini fridge and Keurig coffeemaker made my morning coffee on the balcony a nice, relaxing start to the day. ,

Extremely disappointing experience. Check-in was supposed to be at 4 PM, but we waited in line for 45 minutes only to be told that the key card system was down. Staff were stationed around the resort to manually let guests into rooms -- but when we finally got to the front, we were told our room still wasn't ready and were instructed to call a number in an hour for an update. They gave us drink and breakfast vouchers as a consolation, so we decided to go to dinner and called around 7:45 PM to check on the room. No one answered. We drove back to the hotel, only to be told again that the room was not ready. We asked about switching rooms and were told we could downgrade and be compensated, but if we wanted to upgrade, we'd be charged more -- even after everything. We waited in another long line just to speak with a manager, and by that point, we were so frustrated we canceled the reservation and drove home. What was supposed to be a quick one-night getaway turned into a stressful waste of time. Poor communication, disorganized check-in process, and no real effort to make things right. Definitely will not be returning.

SO glad we cancelled our reservation down the way at Saguaro. This place is ten-fold better! Last time I was here it was Margaritaville, and now it's the Riviera. Greeted by a friendly valet, front desk staff, clean facilities, free bike usage and a beautiful and clean atmosphere. Front desk staff are was more than accommodating after hearing of our junky experience elsewhere. I will definitely return!

With a throwback hip vibe, the Riveria still has a few growing pains as it transitions from being the Margaritaville, & the details haven't all been pulled together but the general vibe is a fresh take on the Palm Springs experience I remember in my childhood. Friendly staff, 2 pool areas, the beds had good pillows & our room was clean, if lacking some amnesties. We were there for a conference held at the hotel, which was convenient. I took a hotel bike into the downtown area because it is a little too far to walk in the heat, even in November. It feels like entry level resort. We enjoyed sitting by both pools (the main filled with kids early in the day) & all the little sitting areas were nice for chatting & networking during the conference.

Came here for a conference and I have to say that the staff have been nothing short of friendly, accommodating, and made my stay here so enjoyable! From the lady at the front desk when I checked in to the staff who helped carry my luggage up the stairs I can't remember his name to Derek, the bartender at Tropics and so forth, the engineer who came to open my sliding door. Everyone I came into contact with was so nice. Great customer service all around. The hotel decor is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to come back. Oh don't let me forget the welcome by Ms. Libby the cutest little English Bulldog ever. I highly recommend staying here!

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever encountered. This place felt more like a motel, at best, with zero service. To start, our room had a strong smell of urine and was dirty, with multiple hairs found in the shower and tub--absolutely disgusting. They advertised "room service," but it was nonexistent. I called at 7:15 AM on Friday morning, but room service didn't answer. The front desk said they would call me back, but that never happened. I ended up going downstairs to get my own coffee. Later that day, I tried calling housekeeping, and, unsurprisingly, there was no answer. I was directed to the front desk and requested fresh towels, opting out of housekeeping. They assured me someone would come up. An hour passed, then two, then four... I wasn't sure if they were preparing a five-course dinner with the towels. Eventually, I found housekeeping myself and got the towels. That evening, my husband and I decided to visit the pool bar for a glass of wine, only to find that it was closed due to broken machines. I didn't realize a machine was required just to serve wine! Later that night, we attempted to order room service for a glass of wine. We called at 8 PM, 8:15 PM, and 8:45 PM, finally getting an answer at 9:15 PM, only to be told they closed at 9 PM. Saturday morning, I went down to the café for coffee. Even though two baristas were working, it took forever to serve just one person. There was a glaring lack of management and urgency at this "resort." After waiting 20 minutes with only one person ahead of me, I gave up and went back to my room, only to be greeted by loud check-ins and booming music echoing through the walls. We didn't complain to management, as they had already proven to be useless, and we were checking out the next day anyway. You can imagine how that night went. On Sunday morning, I called to check out over the phone and provided my email for the receipt (which is very easy to remember). I repeated it multiple times, yet two ladies still managed to mess it up. After checking out, I called a few hours later and spent the last 29 minutes trying to locate my reservation. Overall, this hotel is a joke. It's suitable only if you're looking for an overpriced motel. I would never stay here again. The cleanliness was extremely poor, and you miss out on any hotel perks due to their negligence.

It's far enough from home to feel like a vacation, but close enough to not feel like we are on the road for hours and hours with the kids yelling from the backseat.... "Are we there yet!?" Over the years, we've either stayed at a private rented condo or at one of the many resorts within the city limits. In July 2023... I was "searchin' away for my lost shaker of salt" And instead of 'Blamin' my wife,' We decided to just stay at Margaritaville ;) So Daddy loaded the car with the suitcases, grabbed the floaties and tanning oil and we headed straight to Margaritaville!!! About 3 hours on the road and before anyone could say... "Are we there yet" We pulled into the Margaritaville Resort and I knew instantly... It was about to be 5 o' clock somewhere! Check-in was a breeze because my plan-ahead wife did everything online. (You go girl!) I simply jogged up to the front desk lobby, flashed my Amex and ID and our lil mini vacay was ready to commence. First thing first... We dropped the bags off, I cleared the room to make sure there was no boogie man hiding under the bed, behind the shower curtain, or in the closet (hey, it is Palm Springs) haha. From there, it's nothing but my Burberry swim trunks for the remainder of the weekend; if you're looking for me, I'll be poolside sippin' on my margarita watching my kids cannonball into the pool over and over again. Now that you know where we spent 90% of our trip, let's break this resort down by the numbers. 1. The Room There are 8 buildings on the property which are all within close proximity to their 2 pools on site. (We were closest to the 5 o' clock somewhere pool). The room was spacious, clean, and included all of the typical amenities a standard hotel room would have. I really enjoyed the balcony which had 2 large lounging chairs to sit and relax and take in that Palm Springs summer heat. 2. The Pool The 5 o' clock somewhere pool is the larger of the two and is plenty big to accommodate the 6 buildings that surround it. The pool is not your typical square style pool and has many inlets and areas to hang with your individual group. Surrounding the pool are plenty of areas with more than enough seating to lounge, tan, read a book, sip on a margarita or take a light snooze. Next to the pool is a 10+ person hot tub which even in 100+ degree Palm Springs weather is still relaxing to get into. Surrounded by Palm Trees, this was definitely our favorite place to hang while on our trip. 3. The Outdoor Bar The pool area has a walk up bar with your choice of Margaritas, frozen concoctions, beer and wine and non-alcoholic bevies. Trust me, there's nothing like a Margarita at Margaritaville! 4. Location, Location, Location -A short drive to Downtown Palm Springs where all the restaurants and shops are. -Minutes away from a golf course, the local airport, and a casino. -Equally adult and kid friendly, this is a good choice for those traveling with your family/kids. ------------------------------------- So, There you have it. Rooms are nice . Front desk was great! But bar help needs to have a little more personality! Ask questions and you get pointing! Hope they get sone sleep and have a better day tomorrow.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, and almost ruined what was supposed to be a fun family experience in Palm Springs this past weekend. We were attracted by Margaritaville's solid reviews online, especially for the spa. But shortly after booking, they announced that the hotel would be rebranding to Riviera Resort. We should have cancelled our bookings, but we were assured repeatedly that services would not be affected. What a load. Instead we arrived to a dirty, rundown, understaffed hotel with years of unaddressed maintenance problems and poor customer service. The hotel has no business being open to the public right now, since they clearly cannot provide a remotely acceptable experience for guests. A little history: the property started as Riviera Hotel in 1959 and was a cornerstone of the Palm Springs resort scene until it was sold multiple times, went bankrupt, closed in 2020, and reopened as Margaritaville the same year. Now it's being sold again and renamed Riviera. The staff are doing their best in a terrible situation. Several workers told me the same story: they were surprised with the rebrand news one day at work, with no prior warning. Soon the new ownership re-interviewed all staff and laid off a huge number of people. They're left with a skeleton crew of underpaid staff who are probably looking to jump ship before it gets any worse. How Margaritaville hotel has managed to have a 3.9 star review, I do not know. But I'm sad to say we were duped. Here's a comprehensive list of our issues: My cousin's room had a foul sewer smell that forced her to relocate. We met two other guests with the same complaint. No working phones for several days, starting a week before our trip. We could not reach the front desk or spa or even leave a voicemail. We filled out contact forms on the website and never heard back. When we finally got through to the spa voicemail system we still never heard back. So we booked our spa services online and hoped for the best. At this point it was too late to cancel our room bookings anyway. Bathrooms in disrepair: The shower nozzle fell off both my and my cousins' showers. My sister had water leak on her head from the toilet in the room above. The bathroom ceilings were water-damaged in my room too. The property was in general disrepair with peeling paint water-damaged walls. The two hot tubs were both broken the entire weekend. They had no heat, and one of them had no jets. No point in having the pools open until midnight if the jacuzzis don't work. They tried and failed to fix them on Sunday. Instead the water became so scalding hot that people could barely get their legs in, and everyone's skin was turning dark red. The temp had to be at least 110. We all joked about how we knew what lobsters must feel like, but in reality it was probably very unsafe. The spa was in total disrepair. The website advertised a steam room and hot tub, but neither of the 2 tubs were heated and the steam room was out of service indefinitely! Aside from the private massage rooms it's literally just two lukewarm pools in a pretty room. One person said "that's the hottest we can safely heat the jacuzzi." Another person claimed it had been "broken for days." Nobody would take any responsibility. The women's locker rooms were even worse. None of the four showers would get hot. Same thing on the men's side. To top it all off, we found a giant dead roach and a moldy, water-damaged wall near the showers, which the spa tried to hide behind a tall cabinet. Not to mention that two different male employees came into the women's locker rooms without warning to check on something. I couldn't believe it. The spa coordinator was rude to my brother for not having his waiver filled out in advance. It took 30 seconds to complete. Our grandma was barred from spa access because she booked a manicure instead of a massage. But the website said ALL spa services come with spa access, and did not list manicures as exclusions. The manager also snapped at me for taking a picture in the hot tub area when there were no signs forbidding cell phone use. When I complained about the roach I was told "it's the desert - you're going to get cockroaches." Everyone there was just so miserable and rude. I negotiated a 25% discount with the manager, which is still a joke considering the disappointment and frustration we all felt. Our masseuses and aestheticians were wonderful to us (Kirsti and Cathy?) and the hotel staff was mostly polite - especially Alyssa at the front desk who did what she could for us. My issue is with the greedy management and ownership who have NO business inviting guests to this sad excuse for a resort in its current state of disrepair. Given the amount of money we spent on this trip, the constant issues created a great deal of stress and threatened to ruin the whole trip. And if my family didn't have the sense of humor to find our situation hilarious, it would have.

Our first time at the Riviera in Palm Spings. We figured $100 for a sleep over and then off we go, back home, early morning. Good deal, good plan. We arrived last night approximately 930pm. Check in went well. What we didn't want to hear was a $40 resort fee will be applied to our bill. And, should we choose to stay longer, the $40 resort fee will apply per day. Lesson learned: read the "fine line" online before booking. Honestly, we would have canceled the reservations immediately had we known. We would have rather stayed at a Best Western like hotel instead (inexpensive, without a resort fee). Just $40...but we didn't even get the chance to use any of the amenities (ie gym, bicycles, free parking, pool, discounts at local restaurants, fridge, coffee maker, 2 bottled waters, etc). Rooms looked nice, pleasing to the eye. The room we had was large in size, beds were comfy, had view of garden and clean. No complaints. Check out also went well. Excellent customer service from Alejandro at front desk. He was professional, helpful, friendly, and polite. Overall, it was a nice over-nighter at Riviera Resort in Palm Springs. Liked the $100 price. Didn't like the $40 daily resort fee

This hotel hits all the notes for a small feeling, lovely, charming, true Palm Springs retro feel. Hotel is under new management and has a good handle on guest relations. Rooms are perfectly fine including lovely, free standing new bathtubs. The staff is friendly, accommodating and welcoming. From the manager, valet, front desk, caregivers, pool staff and housekeepers, there was always a smile and a wonderful "how can we make your stay" perfect. Can't wait to return.

Had such a great time at this resort!! I had stayed in the past, before its renovation when it was The Riviera and it was beautiful then and still beautiful now just a totally different vibe. All the staff was so kind and helpful, grin the valet attendants to the pool staff! Vanessa was so awesome making sure I was keeping hydrated and cool with the 118 degree heat . Perfect location, right when you drive into Palm Springs and not far from downtown. Really loved my time here and definitely recommend staying!

I wish they would make it where you could give no stars. This star is only for writing the review. Sad to say this place needs lots of work.. miss information regarding free breakfast at 11am, massages for $45 by the spa staff. Carol staff member was very kind corret notation when asked and stopped to listen to my questions super kind lady The floor rug in rooms and hall way were stained thru out the walls ceiling had black scuff marks, all around base boars carpet detached from floor wall. Called up for a microwave which only worked in 1 outlet but you had to keep pushing it in and out to work it. Tub stained, tub needed recaulking as well as sink and base of sink counter.this was my birthday weekend with family. I for sure won't be back. Oh and we could not even watch TV service was down lol Frustrating Do better management Andrew!!!

we stayed here 1 night 8/22 arrives at 3 left at 6pm to a football game. came back by 11:40 and checked out 8/23 by 10:30am! at 7:15pm!!!! i received a charge of $425. i reached out to them and the assistant manager stated the room had been damaged!! lies lies lies! we literally just slept got up an left! housekeeping was one room down from us to clean the room. why didnt house keeping report it?? they waited until 7pm??? hours later??? wish i could gove negative stars!! yelp please start allowing people to leave reviews with negative stars or no stars. i don't want to even leave a 1 start for the this place.

How I wish I could have given our fourth year in a row experience a five star, but there were several things that made me take away stars this time around. Pros: 1) Free early check-in. We pulled up right before 1pm on the 4th of July. They allowed us to check in at 1pm for free. 2) Welcome frozen slurpee machine with both lemonade and coconut flavored options. 3) Gym has treadmills, stairmasters, one bike, body flex type machine, two benches, battle ropes and plenty of dumbell options. Kettlebells are a bit light weight, but still good for those who want to use them. Cons: 1) Pool is not cool for the tripple digit heat wave and felt like a jacuzzi all day. 2) The AC was not working to the level it should have been for the hot weather. Made sleeping comfortably during the hot nights difficult. 3) I am no longer able to bring my big floaty, they have a no large floatie policy, although the first three years I got a pass. 4) The pool security is rude, and although there were clearly others bringing outside drinks it the so-called prohibited Hydro flask, the lead pool monitor approached us twice and even tried scaring us telling us that we would be kicked out if my husband brought in another beer. Perhaps adding Lagunitas IPA to the beer options would make this avoidable. Although we will likely return next year, most likely not in July as it is busier, and the $140 DAILY resort fee adds up.

I have to shoutout Dorian because is was amazing!! We were walking and he helped carry our stuff into the room, he was bringing amazing energy and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. He definitely elevated our experience at this beautiful hotel!

July 2025 Stay - Never Again This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. On my first night, I discovered bed bugs in my bed. The shower had yellow water stains, and the door handle was broken. When I reported the bed bugs, the housekeeping manager dismissed my concern, insisting they weren't bed bugs -- but they clearly were. To make matters worse, the AC stopped working during my stay. Between the poor cleanliness, broken amenities, and unprofessional management, this was an absolute nightmare. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
