I had a great time at kaminari! The broth and noodles were so warm and soul-repairing. I cleared the entire bowl and treated myself to their really delicious dessert of the sweet potato with coconut ice cream. Service is amazing. The owner and the bartender, Victoria, were incredibly warm, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The onsen eggs were also really tasty. I would definitely come back! This was the perfect solo date spot.

The Tokyo Shio Ramen I ordered was a real treat to savour. Clear and light chicken broth that comes with pork and chicken plus clam, menma, seaweed, and green onion slivers. Other topping are available at an extra charge. The soup was full of chicken flavour and very tasty. Again, I wish I had access to some condiments to make this good bowl an even better bowl. The atmosphere did not convey a typical ramen shop. The decor, looks more like a typical bar that serves ramen on the side. With that being said, the food was still very enjoyable. Another location worth checking out again.

Absolute treat lunch at Kaminari. We had the Karashi Cucumbers - unreal horseradish/mustard flavour in every bite. The Paitan ramen was creamy and an absolute novelty for us, couldn’t stop until it was finished. And the duck umami soup was delicious, very tender and perfectly medium rare on the duck breast. Drinks were great too!

A place where Japanese goes for their comfort eats! Not your regular ramen place. This place has more and even gives you a compliment dish like our sashimi with amazing sauces! My husband was so impressed with how much care and love each dish was made! Even their dish ware and spoons are not plastic! If you love real Japanese food this is the place!

Underrated gem! I walked in on a Friday around 6:30 and was able to grab a table for 2 easily, our ramen came very quickly and was absolutely delicious! I had the paitan soy ramen and my friend had the umami duck soy ramen - both were incredibly flavourful! You can tell the ingredients are very high quality as well. The restaurant itself has really nice ambience, fairly casual but would also be a nice date restaurant! Very friendly staff as well. Didn't have any this time but I look forward to visiting again to try their cocktails!

I am Japanese who was born and raised in Japan. This is hands down my favorite ramen shop in Toronto!! 🍜 Even in Japan, I saw places that just ended up kind of copying what’s trendy. But what they do here, I think, is on another level! They preserve the quality and spirit of authentic Japanese cuisine, and then build something completely their own on top of it. Every bowl reflects that balance, which is respect for tradition and creativity that adds a new layer of umami. The flavors have the richness and finesse you’d expect from top ramen in Japan, but there’s also uniqueness that I don’t think I could even find easily in Japan. The owner, a humble Japanese chef who prefers to stay out of the spotlight, pours his heart into every detail from naming “Tokyo Shio” after ingredients that actually trace back to Tokyo to using soft water to create not only the soup but also in the noodle-making process to create that delicate texture. And please, don’t miss the sweet potato dessert. It’s unforgettable🍠 They’ve gone through hard times because of the area, but this is one place I truly don’t ever want to lose. It deserves to stay. It deserves to be known. So please go visit, tell your friends, and let’s help keep this kind of real, soulful craftsmanship alive🫶

Very good and delicious, real taste of Japan Tokyo. Chicken soup broth is favourable, welly made, very delicate and nicely hot. The cold noodle is very tasty and refreshing. Every thing well done and will come again for sure. Patio and indoor both are nice deco with vintage display, love this good vibe.

I made a reservation for Saturday night and the staff was able to get my party seated an hour earlier from our reservation which was very accommodating! The staff was super friendly and made good food recommendations, we were greeted right when we walked in. Service was fast as well! Atmosphere is very nice and unique! We got the karaage and siu mai to share. Karaage was so crispy and flavourful, very juicy and tender, one of the best I have had! The Siu Mai was unique, the filling was similar to a gyoza filling, very tasty as well. The Paitan Soy ramen was the highlight! I was just the right amount of flavour and saltiness. Paitan Shio was very good too. As recommended from the menu, we got an onsen egg with the creamy ramen and it was so good! The broth was rich and creamy, noodles had a nice chew. The meat was perfectly tender and juicy. Would definitely recommend Kaminari if you are looking for a Ramen Bar.
