"Perfect for a Drink on a Sunny Afternoon The Local Kitchen sits at the foot of a pedestrian-only street, right along the main drag by the harbor in Victoria. Our seat on the patio put us in the front row for a busking band. We ate a delicious meal while watching the activity of the harbor and people pass by. I enjoyed the edamame and the poutine. The sangria looked better than it tasted so next time I'll get one of the local beers they had on tap."

We found this place by accident while walking around Victoria. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is located on Wharf Street in Bastion Square, a piazza-like setting filled with restaurants, bars and a museum. The inside is very warm and cozy with dim lighting, bar, booth, and regular table seating and a loft as well. The outdoor seating with umbrellas has great views of the harbor and skyline. FOOD: Clam Chowder Not sure if we got the wrong order but it tasted exactly like potato leek soup. The ingredients looked like it too. Maybe we received the daily special instead? Odd. Pound of Wings 10 wings done in a honey BBQ sauce. Mildly sweet flavor and crispy exterior. Very mainstream. Tofino Linguine 8 baby clams, 4 mussels, salmon (I didn't taste any), halibut, and 4 prawns done in a light white wine garlic herb sauce sprinkled with asiago cheese. The pasta was cooked nicely but the amount could've been a bit more. The sauce had a nice mild flavor that didn't need enhancements. There was way too many chunks of tasteless halibut, and the prawns, clams & mussels were good. SERVICE: We walked in without any reservations at 8:15 on a Thursday night and waited about 10 minutes for a table outside. The hostesses and servers were all friendly and professional. OVERALL: Nice place to grab a bite with a great view and moderate pricing.

✨ The portion size was a bit small and the fries were overly salty, with the salt clearly visible on them. However, when we mentioned it, the waitress kindly replaced them with a smile. That smile meant more to us than anything else—especially compared to one of her colleagues who was very serious and gave more of an office-like vibe. The warmth and friendliness of the waitress who took our order made the whole experience memorable. In the end, her smile turned into a sweet souvenir from our trip to Victoria.

A hang out with a friend. Greeted and seated quickly. Staff was friendly. Delicious food. I had the smoked Turkey club wrap with salad and he had the potato skins. It’s was delicious. We were seated outside and enjoyed some people watching while we waited for our food. It was a decent experience, unless you don’t like passersby watching you eat.

We went to this place to try their poutine. We originally tasted poutine in Montreal & have never found one as good… well this is the place to eat it, the fries we cooked crispy (till they soak in the gravy), the cheese was great & instead of everything being on top of the fries, it was layered in. It was delicious. We also ordered a turkey wrap to split - it was also very good. Plenty of food for us (we didn’t even eat the fries that came with the sandwich). We also each had a beer. The waitress was awesome & we didn’t feel forgotten. I highly recommend this place.

We were lucky to be seated in a section where Meya was the server. Seated immediately. The obvious draw to this establishment is the flower abundant outdoor seating area. But, for those of you “sports enthusiasts”, the have every sport imaginable on TVs inside the bar!! I got to see my Tampa Bay Rays play baseball live 3,000 miles away! Thank you! I ordered the Notorious P I G, my wife the massive Quesadilla! No disappointment here! Maya made it special with her Australian accent, and the drink glasses were never empty. Great place, when in Victoria, give it a chance. Prices are fair for what you get!

I recently visited this place with a friend, and even though we only ordered dessert, the service was absolutely wonderful. Our server, , was so kind and made us feel completely welcome. Sometimes you worry about ordering just a little, but she never made us feel that way—just the opposite. Her warmth and hospitality really stood out.

Love this place for watching a game. If it’s a game night I would not come here to have a good conversation because it is very loud. It’s a great bar with tons of tvs, perfect for watching some hockey. Drinks are good here and the food is mediocre nothing special. I would recommend just getting nachos or fries.

Fresh cold beer, monster burgers that were exceptionally juicy and delicious. Staff we interacted with were all friendly and pleasant, and accommodated our party of 11 pretty easily during off hours.
