• Indus Valley Civilization: It holds over 3,500 objects recovered from sites like Harappa and Mohenjo-daro. One of its most famous artefacts is the 'Dancing Girl' (bronze sculpture) and the 'Pashupati Seal'.
• Sculptures and Archaeological Objects: Sculptures and remnants from various ancient Indian empires like Maurya, Shunga, Kushana, and Gupta are present, including significant Buddhist art objects.
• Paintings and Manuscripts: It boasts a vast collection of over 14,000 manuscripts and miniature paintings, encompassing Mughal, Rajasthani, Pahari, and Deccani schools of art.
• Coins, Arms, and Jewellery: There is an extensive collection of ancient coins, arms and armour from different eras, and traditional Indian jewellery.
• Other Collections: This includes Central Asian antiquities, textiles and costumes, tribal art, and decorative arts.
