Where to Eat in Barcelona
Grasshopper Ramen Bar

Ngoc B.

Google
We had kim chi, tofu raclette and the shio tonkotsu ramen. All three dishes were delicious. The pork of the ramen was kinda fatty, so you have to like it. Although the food was nice.

Bekah F.

Google
I got gyoza and Shio ramen. The gyoza was tasty but the ramen wasn't impressive, the pork was fatty (inedible) and the broth salty. My standards are high as an avid ramen eater.

Google
After several days of tapas, we were hunting for something different. We just stumbled on this place as they opened at 1pm. First customers of the day. Very good ramen selection with different options. We got a few apps, which meant that I couldn’t finish my giant bowl. It was a perfect snack later.

Google
perfect tantan noddles and fried & crispy eggplant with creamy sesame sauce

Google
Everything was delicious. I like that everyone is sitting facing the bar. I thought there would be more craft beers on tap, but i dont know how is this craft beer culture doing in Spain. Definitely recommend visiting this place.

Google
Ramen - 10 of 10! One of the best I have on my life. Must have place. 🤠

Google
I’ve tried many places in Barcelona, and this one is among the best. The combination of delicious ramen and a great Asian culture atmosphere makes it a must-visit for ramen fans. Recommendation: Tonkotsu 👌

Gelato B.

Google
Worst place ever. There is no flavour, or taste in the food, everything was too salty. Disgusting

Yelp
I had the vegan ramen. It was pretty good, but i got an egg on the side and it was very unnecessarily expensive. I did enjoy the mushrooms inside and flavor overall.

Yelp
Today we set out on an adventure to discover this restaurant and it was difficult to locate as a tourist but due to the persistence of my daughter we found it and I am glad we did. The food was the perfect thing for a cold day. It was warm, soothing and delicious. I had the miso soup for a vegan and my daughter had the pork belly. It was an intimate setting and was filled to capacity with customers of all ethnicities. The service was quick and our server was friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We came here for a late night ramen craving and was sooooo disappointed. There was no wait and it had bar seating arrangement. I ordered the spicy miso and carne gyoza. The spicy miso was super salty and was not spicy at all. Nothing special about the ramen. The gyoza was cold when it came out. Definitely not coming back.

Yelp
Some of the best broth I've ever had. This restaurant stunned me with how quality the service and food were. Grasshopper is a very unassuming little shop, with only bar space and some coat hooks on the wall. If there are a lot of people, you wait outside until there is space. The menu has only ramen and sides (you know it's gonna be good when they don't bother adding other types of dishes as main courses). There are options for vegetarians, and I'm sure those are delicious as well. My brother and i started with the seaweed salad and pork gyoza, and both ordered spicy miso as our main. The seaweed salad tasted more fresh than what i can get in America, and the pork gyoza was stuffed with so much pork on the inside, so it's a good deal considering how much meat you get. The ramen was PHENOMENAL. Egg was cooked to perfection, lots of noodles, a new kind of seaweed salad was placed on top. Totaled up to just over 30$ for two people with 2 appetizers, still water, and 2 ramens. I hope to return very soon! I will be dreaming about this place :)

Yelp
Was feeling a little under the weather from all the constant traveling and felt like Ramen would fix that. Came to this place for quick late lunch and boy it did not disappoint. Easily one of the best vegetarian Ramen I have tried in my life! For vegetarians, order: Miso Vegetarian Ramen. Just do it. It's so flavorful and delicious. It was so different that it made me wonder if we get fake Ramen in the US (lol). It's the real deal! The place is much smaller than it appears in photos so it's very homey and cozy. The servers did not speak english but understood my order well. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon this place one evening while strolling along and discussing where we should eat. Though it was humid outside, we both decided to go in and give this place a shot. We both loved the ramen we ordered. The sake we ordered was so smooth we went back to the States looking for it, but have not found it since :( If you are looking for Ramen in Barcelona, definitely check this place out!

Yelp
This place hit the spot when we needed comfort food but I wasn't wowed by the ramen. We got the spicy veggie ramen and tan tan veggie ramen. Their beer selection is very impressive!

Yelp
Went to Spain and our group was craving ramen. Stumbled upon this place and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Although, I don't think this ramen is comparable to ramen in Asia or even US ramen, it definitely hit the spot, at the moment. I will comment that the egg was perfectly runny and the sprouts and bamboo shoots were great quality for being in Spain. The meat was tender and delicious. The noodles were good enough and the broth was on the saltier side (Shoyu). Overall a cute, clean place which was a welcome and familiar sight. Service was good too. Asked for a coke and they gave me a Fentiman's Curiosity Cola which was delicious. It's the little things in life.

Yelp
Odd name for a ramen joint to say at the least. Maybe it's a Kung Fu reference, which does not make sense. I had mixed feelings about the ramen. We ordered the shio and miso ramen and thought both broth tasted bland. I preferred miso over the shio. There was nothing wrong with the noodles. The pork slices were small and fatty. The overall portions were good and the price was cheap, but unfortunately the ramen is all about the broth and the noodles, if one or the other is not fantastic then the experience will not be a complete one. There are only bar seats and it's fairly small. The service was quick and efficient.

Yelp
This shop really had the feel of a ramen shop in japan! Loved the bar seats and tight space. Only two people working but very efficient with not too long of a food wait time. Nice staff. I had ordered the eggplant donburi. I didn't expect the eggplant to be fried and it was a little on the salty side but the different textures in this bowl were interesting. My husband also got a bowl of ramen that he said was pretty good.

Yelp
I went there specifically for Ramen. Although the entrance is in the middle of the placa it's not that easily spot able. I was lucky enough to get the last spot at the bar (actually there is nothing else than a bar ;)). The Ramen was good, but compared to the Ramen I knew the taste was too light. I also ate only 1/4 of my pork meat as 3/4 were fat, too bad. Good choice if you are around but not the best in town for sure!

Yelp
Was so happy to find this place in Barcelona. My friends and I were approaching our second week in Spain and quite frankly had gotten tired of eating tapas. Therefore, we were looking for asian food and stumbled upon grasshopper and let me just say the ramen was so delicious. Especially cause it was a chilly and rainy spring day in Barcelona. I would highly recommend this place and it started getting packed around 2 pm.
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
It...hit the spot. That is undeniable. After a long, cold, rainy Sunday like the day I went, there was nothing more that I wanted than to hole up with a nice bowl of shoyu ramen. And that's why this spot did the job. I've had a lot of ramen in my life and I feel that there was nothing really special about this one but it still did its job just fine. (It was a little too salty but I'm willing to look past that.) The service was just fine and we were served very kindly and promptly. Not a place you would write home about but if you're abroad and missing some Asian food or specifically ramen, not a bad place to go.

Beth O.

Yelp
Excellent food. Fantastic service. Great ambiance. Perfect menu. The options are the perfect amount, providing enough variety and allowing concentration of the entrees.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
It seems most of the good ratings are just tourists who crave "non-spanish" food and don't have a decent local Ramen benchmark to compare against. This place is over-hyped and doesn't compare to other restaurants that are part of this group. The goyza's fell apart and bland. My Shio ramen was fairly tasteless. The craft beer and Machi (the dessert) was probably the saving grace of this place. There are plenty of better Ramen places in Barcelona. You just need to know where to look.
google avatar

Dominic S.

Yelp
I came here for the same reason most reviewers did, because Spanish food just wasn't cutting it. I was excited to do something that I knew I enjoyed, and ramen sounded great. Unfortunately, I was a little let down. It was fine, but it was far from spectacular. They did load it up with lots of chasu, but that didn't overcome the general blandness. Still, if you're looking for something decidedly not Spanish, this is a decent option, and within walking distance of Ciutadella park, where I was headed at the time. So give that convenience some consideration as well!

Yelp
Second time visiting Barcelona and wanted to have ramen. The receptionist at my hotel recommended this place and I'm forever grateful to her. Needless to say I enjoy the ramen. Broth was outstanding and flavorful and the gyoza was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be making this a regular go to when I visit Barcelona.

Yelp
I stumbled in here drunk and on a mission to satisfy the ramen craving that I had ever since I tired myself, day after day, with tapas and local food. This place did not disappoint. The staff was welcoming and accommodated my large group of five. As we browsed over the menu we heard an orchestra of slurping and groveling over large, steamy bowls of noodles from our neighbors. Decisions, decisions. I decided to try the shoyu ramen. It was described as being slightly salty as it is soy based. It came standard with pork belly, a semi runny egg half, soy beans, seaweed, and handmade noodles. I added extra garlic for good measure. I took the first bite, looked at my friends, and ordered them to try the broth. It was so tasty and full of energizing goodness. The ramen broth was bursting with flavor, and after I added just a touch of sriracha, it was game over. Forget socializing with my friends---it was me and the ramen. Barcelona did not disappoint me at all. Shout out to the women in the kitchen flipping their wrist and whipping up the best meal to top off my night.

Yelp
I have to stay as someone who lived in Barcelona 10 years ago, the Asian food scene has definitely improved. The miso broth ramen was delicious for someone craving Asian food in a sea of tapas. Grasshopper was run by a Japanese woman, so it definitely tasted legit.

Yelp
I popped in here for a quick weekday lunch. For a while, I was the only person in the entire restaurant, which I thought odd. I ordered a bowl of the shio Ramen, which apparently is a combination meat/seafood broth. I was pretty surprised by how good it was, considering this was just a random place I was walking past. There's probably better things to eat in this area, but if you really want ramen, you could do much worse than this place.
google avatar

Justin V.

Yelp
Service here was much better than their counterparts at Red Ant. The ramen here is delicious and the prices are fairly reasonable. The pork was very tender and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The broth was quite rich, heavy on both flavor and grease. It was very satisfying to eat it, but my stomach didn't thank me for it later. I would recommend eating here if you're very hungry and/or if you don't plan on doing much with the rest of your day because the ramen was delicious, but so heavy that it definitely puts you out of commission for awhile. Also highly recommend the meat gyoza and one of their craft beers on tap.

Yelp
Stumbled across this cute little ramen bar before watching a flamenco show nearby. It's a 5 minute walk to the Picasso museum. The restaurant is small but seats seem to turn over quickly. We had the vegetation miso ramen & vegetarian gyoza. Both were delicious. The ramen noodles were good texture and the miso broth flavour was complimented by the yummy mushrooms. I had a glass of cold sake which was a perfect accompaniment to the food. Although I'm visiting Barcelona and like to eat local food I would defiantly return to this restaurant. My kids don't like tapas so this is a good find for my family. I've had many ramen noodle soups in Tokyo and this was delicious.

Yelp
So it seems ramen hasn't really taken off in Barcelona (the way it has taken off in New York). This was the only ramen restaurant we've spotted during our random walk in the city. With its closed door and minimum signage it was very easy to miss. While it wasn't the tastiest bowl of ramen that we have ever tried, kudos to them for keeping it as authentic as possible. Broth didn't scream flavors, but had minimal quantity of MSG. The slices of pork were soft and juicy. The whole wheat noodles were a nice counterbalance to the oilier broth, and brought out its subtler flavors. The 2 sides we ordered were chunks of fried mackerel and fried tofu with cheese inside. Both very well executed.

Yelp
My favorite Ramen house in Barcelona so far! Miso Ramen, was very much similar to my favorite spots in California. Pork melted like butter when consumed and the noodles tasted as if they had just made it that very moment from scratch. The place is really hidden so you'll probably pass it a few times before you actually find the sliding glass door. All the appetizers are amazing as well. Only complaint is that they forgot my extra noodles and eggs that I ordered on 2 separate occasions. Not sure if it's an English barrier, but more so just lack of attentiveness to customer's request, but the food is amazing and definitely a recommended location for all Ramen lovers.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
World be a three star in California but deserve foor stars given the lack of Japanese ex pats in Barcelona. The ramen counter and the food is a close semblance of the real thing. If you need an Asian fix for a long stay in Spain, definitely hits the spot
google avatar

Anh Thu P.

Yelp
Our group was over tapas and paella by the 4th night in Barcelona, so we decided to try out some Asian food. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that great either. I think the broth was just way too salty and made us so thirsty in the end. They are pretty generous on their portions and we really liked the side options, especially the added silky tofu. We also ordered the pot stickers which were good, but the sauce was a bit lacking. I would def stop here for a quick inexpensive lunch, but if you are truly craving legit ramen - you may need to get out of Barcelona for that!

BoBo A.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised with the overall taste of their ramen done right. There were four of us and we tried the shio, shoyu, & miso. The miso had bacon bits so a bit funny but it went well. The noodle were done al dente and held up well in the hot broth. Extra noodle were done well but would have been perfect if they would add a bit of broth in the extra noodle bowl. The gyoza were done right as well and very flavourful. I would have given them a full 5 stars for the high quality so far away from Asia. However, the one star off was for the bugs on the wall that they didn't seemed to mind.
google avatar

Scott D.

Yelp
Four of us had different ramen types (vegetarian, vegan, pork broth) and none of them had much flavor or depth/character. While we've been to some pretty great ramen spots, we're not especially picky. Just a bowl with some noodles and some flavor. Did not deliver.
google avatar

Victoria O.

Yelp
We had an amazing bowl of ramen and some goyza. It's inexpensive and delicious! The small atmosphere makes it fun!

Liaoq A.

Yelp
Walked in as other Ramen places are closed at the time. I ordered the miso ramen, and my gf ordered the shout ramen. The pork belly and the egg done perfectly, incredibly tender and smooth, the noodles made freshly and the broth with intense fragrance, just wonderful, one of the best. I am usually too lazy to write review, not for this tho.

Angie L.

Yelp
As a vegetarian, I want to share how delicious and flavorful their veggie miso ramen is. Sometimes, the veggie ramen at other ramen shops can be quite bland. This was not the case here. The al dente ramen noodles were properly served with bamboo, bean sprouts, shitake, and half a soft boiled egg. The cold tofu with kimchi was a very refreshing and fresh; I'd definitely recommend this starter. Seating is limited to an L-shaped bar.

Yelp
Best ramen in Barcelona!! Well only tried two places but couldn't imagine it tasting better elsewhere around. So tried this place after dinner, yes I'm a food lover and consume prob way too much food but since I wasn't hungry and tried this place and liked it, that means this place has to be good right? Lol so being Asian and loving Asian food, it was damn good. Tried the miso broth (can't remember exactly what the name of it was) but it had all the ingredients and bamboo shoots and etc, also got a side of kimchee to eat and throw in the ramen and it was pretty good, (being Korean I can't say it compares to actually Korean kimchee) but did more than the job! So being far away on vacation or even if I was home in Los Angeles trying ramen, it's a def good place to have ramen!!

Ali M.

Yelp
Best ramen in Barcelona! We especially love the vegetarian miso ramen, paired with a nice chilly Caleya beer. Perfect for a chilly night in the city. :)

Jason G.

Yelp
Just OK if you are looking to soak up some of what you drank earlier in the evening. Good beer on tap but the ramen is sub-par. I have had much better in Buffalo , NY. If momofuko is a ten then this place is a three at most.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
This place was wonderful. The ramen is delicious and the service is good. They have a selection of craft beers to choose from as well. The prices were a little high for a bowl of ramen but the pork melts in your mouth and the eggs are perfectly cooked!

Carlo W.

Yelp
We ordered the Miso and Shoyu ramen. The noodles were very good. The miso broth is exceptionally full of flavor. The shoyu broth was also very good. The egg was soft-boiled and on point. This was a good break from all the tapas and paellas that we've had recently.

Tarana S.

Yelp
Randomly walked in. Great service. Yummmmmmmmmm shio ramennn... char sio ...just yum for these old nights.

Chelsey F.

Yelp
Fantastic ramen and reasonable prices. Truly wonderful!! We ordered almost everything on the menu including the mochi ice cream which is homemade.
