BP Pedestrian Bridge

Really nice walkway. AWSOME view of the city great for a little photo op. It’s cool and zig zaggy and had a lot of nice greenery, trees and flowers along the way Apparently in winter you can skate on it. Would love to go back to do that.

The cool design walking bridge that makes the crossing street more fun and interesting. The bridge is curvy connecting the Millennium Park to the Maggie Daley Park. You can see the view of the street underneath. It is nice in summer, but it can be slippery when wet and icy in winter. The floor is wooden.

Very nice bridge that helps you get from one park to the other, and the design is very cool looking too. Very nice place to get photos of the city and highway and also a great view of the 2 parks and the high-rise buildings of Chicago. A really good place to admire the city

A charming pedestrian bridge and public art installation that links Millennium Park to the Maggie Daley Park. It was constructed by Frank Gehry (2004) and winds 285 metres between the two parks. You will see stainless-steel panels and a snaking like nature of the bridge as it finds its way across Columbus Drive.

Great to walk/run between Millenium Park to Maggie Daley Park for leisure and sightseeing. Gets pretty hot at noon. Beautiful city views.

It's worth going a bit out of your way to try out this winding, futuristic footbridge. The bridge itself is aesthetically stunning and it opens on captivating views of the downtown skyline and the lakeshore area. For a central city location, the feeling is almost rural. Am It connects the lakeshore walkway region to the giant art structures of Millennium Park so you won't be going too far out of your way to use this bridge, anyway.

We walked through Millennium Park – the one with the famous “Bean” – and came across the BP Pedestrian Bridge with its unique curvey design. why the name - Named for energy firm BP, which donated $5 million toward its construction. This 925-foot stainless steel "pedestrian" bridge is located at the far east section of Millennium Park connecting Millennium Park to Maggie Daley Park. The bridge complements the Pritzker Pavilion in "design" as well as "function" by creating an acoustic barrier from the traffic noise below. The Bridge creates accessibility for people with disabilities, linking the eastern and western areas of Grant Park

We’ve been living in Chicago for many years, but we just discovered this bridge and it’s such an awesome experience for the whole family. It’s free, so it’s a great way to spend you evenings or weekends you can bring some friends, you can have a picnic, you can just spend some time alone, it’s very similar to Central Park, New York
