Books Kinokuniya Tokyo

The largest English(and others) bookstore in Tokyo and there is none other like it. It's just a joy to be here among the books with such a wide variety of collections in many genres and languages. Make sure you go here with a lot of time. It's easy to get lost exploring the books. Of course, books generally being very expensive in Japan is always a sad thing. (For me, compared to my home country)

Got these books! I was looking for the Flesh book, but unfortunately, it was sold out. It’s a great bookstore for English books. They add notes to books that have won awards, which makes it easy to choose when you’re unsure about what to read next. But they don’t have a computer search system. You can ask the staff, but for people who prefer to search on their own, it might feel a bit inconvenient. I hope they can install one in the future to make it even more convenient for customers.

We visited this fantastic book store several times during our trip to Tokyo. They had a large selection of Manga books in English. Our son bought so many of them. We loved visiting the store, and we stayed for quite a while every time. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. We recommend this store for everyone visiting Tokyo, even if you are not buying books.

The best bookstore for ENGLISH books! they got everything from new releases to German or Spanish or other foreign books. They are my go to for new releases!

I prefer this location for this bookstore. It’s located upstairs the Nitori building. It’s clean, quiet and has a great layout. They have some of the latest #BookTok or #Bookstagram English books so that’s cool. I was very surprised to find some Caribbean books there as well which is a plus as an Island girl 😊 I go by here every month to buy books and I’ve never really been disappointed. The staff is very friendly also.

This is not the main Kinokuniya store in Shinjuku, which some people confuse the two. This location is inside the Takashimaya building, taking up the entire 6th floor. It is mostly English books, but you can find books written in French, Spanish, German, and other languages. There’s a wide selection of not only classics, but nonfiction, genre-specific fiction, and English language magazines. There’s also an entire shelf dedicated to graded readers for English learners. It’s less crowded than the main Kinokuniya Shinjuku store, so it’s a nice location.

I came to this bookstore in April, I really liked being there and could’ve stayed browsing for hours. They have curated a good collection books, and I liked how they organised them. The service was lovely too. When I remember my trip, I think fondly of this bookstore.

love the wide selection of books here --- English, French, Spanish, Vietnamese fiction and nonfiction. if you're also learning Japanese, they are also quite complete from textbooks to JLPT preparations. the spaciousness and cleanliness of the area made my visit wonderful as well. this bookstore is really a gem!!
