Ramse was amazing teaching 2 teens to surf! was easy to understand and they very quickly were up on the boards riding waves. They both had nothing but great things to say about the experience. He was great about communicating ahead of time and confirming times and locations. So glad we chose him!

Ramse is an excellent instructor, deservedly well loved by the entire town or Rincón. We came in with zero surfing experience and Ramse had us up and riding waves quickly on day 1, and taught us turning and mid-wave adjustments on day 2. Appreciated his big focus on safety and depth of surfing knowledge.

Had a great time with Ramses. Went for two days of lessons. Day one both kids were able to stand up and ride. Day two they were able to catch a bunch of waves. Ramses also gave lots of helpful pointers for my wife, who already had some surfing experience and needed more advanced help. Appreciate Ramses being very good with communication. On one day we were supposed to meet at 7am for a lesson, but he let me know at 6am that the swells were too small and we needed to reschedule. Was able to get some more rest instead.

Ramse was a great instructor and I had such a great experience! This is a very authentic lesson where Ramse wants to teach you how to surf properly (while some companies just get you to stand up on a foam board and take your picture - which is cool if that’s your vibe!). He gave great feedback and individualized attention. I had so much fun and I’m excited to keep learning!

Working with Ramse was my first experience with surfing. Excellent! The surf instruction was great and attentive. He also shared a lot of knowledge of the local ocean wildlife and island flora and fauna which I really appreciated and was good company while bobbing around in the surf. 11/10 experience with Ramse! We took several lessons with Ramse during a week+ in Rincón. We both have some experience with surfing and were looking for a local guide and tips to improve our skills and technique. Ramse had specific guidance and feedback for each of us to make us better surfers. He was a great communicator to arrange lessons throughout the week based on conditions and schedules. Highly recommend contacting Ramse whether you are brand new to surfing, looking for local knowledge of the breaks,or to work on improving your surf practice. I had a great deal of anxiety because I had never surfed such big waves as the ones I saw the day before. Never mind my fear of open water since I learned to swim at the Y. Ramse understood and suggested a time when the conditions would be more mild. He also spent extra time on wipes outs to make sure that I was comfortable with the recovery process. He periodically reaffirmed that his eyes would be on me at all times (he is also a certified lifeguard). The combination of all this really helped alleviate my anxiety. By the time I caught the first wave I was feeling like I was in El Tunco and Las Peñitas again, riding high like Keanu in The Matrix, wow "I know kungfu!" Except, you know, with a great deal less elegance. My first surf in PR could not have gone better thanks to Ramse's patience and encouragement. If you are in Rincon and not already an expert surfer, it's definitely worth it to take a lesson or two with Ramse.

His attention to detail and extra effort had me standing up on my first wave and all subsequent 5. Good dude. Fun dude. Highly recommended.

These thugs broke every surfing ethic there is. Practiced localism, threatened to harm me to keep me off the peak, closed only peak at the break this particular day, pushed students into waves that could harm them due to steepness.

I never surfed before and was pretty nervous but these guys are legit. I got on like 7 waves in an hour. Ramse and his partner were super focused and attentive. I don't think they'd put you in a bad spot but if you can't swim good and aren't physically strong, I'd consider watching first.

Ramses was awesome! I have never surfed and I was nervous, but Ramses puts safety first. He's a lifeguard, and teaches you a lot before you begin, and also as you go. I had a great time (even though I wasn't good at it) and would definitely recommend him for a TRUE surf experience! It was fun!!

This was my first time surfing, Ramse was very knowledgable (he's a local) and professional. We paid for a group lesson, however Ramse structured the lesson so you get some personal attention as well. One thing to keep in mind, when you book you may not know which beach the lesson will take place in (depends on beach conditions, to ensure waves) or time of the lesson. The lessons are generally in the Rincon area, but ours was at 8am, the only time slot for that day (it was a Thur, which worked out well because the beaches with waves tend to crowd later in the day) and was in another area outside of Rincon (where i was staying), a short drive away.In our case Ramsey called the day before to confirm details. I'd recommend calling if you're concerned with where or when the lesson may take place. My wife and I had a great surfing experiance with Ramse and would highly recommend to anyone looking to make some waves and memories.

I had an amazing time in Rincon, mostly due to the time spent with Ramse both in the water and out. This was my second time surfing, and second series of lessons I have had - first time in PR and first lessons with Ramse. Not only is Ramse a great surfer, but he is professional, polite, patient, very positive, and extremely knowledgeable regarding the area and the practice of surfing. I took lessons throughout the week (3 total) and noticed improvement during each lesson. Ramse focused on the little things to help me progress at a pace that wasn't 'out of reach'. By the last day of my trip, I was able to use the techniques that Ramse taught me to catch a few of my own waves, that is, without direct "coaching". I would (and already have) recommend Ramse to any novice or experienced surfers. He is a great asset to the surf community and to the Rincon Area. Seriously, if you are traveling to Rincon, do not look anywhere else!

We love Ramse, he completely made our trip! Let me first preface that I had experienced surfing once in my 20's and ended up at the hospital with 20+ stitches in my face, so I was a bit reluctant to try it again... as both my husband and I are in our 40's:) Ramse is first and foremost about safety, then surfing; which was obviously important to me. We signed up for 1 lesson and had such a blast we ended up doing 4 more! In addition to feeling safe and secure, we both got up on the first day and improved each & everyday thereafter. He's great for all ages and skill sets; we witnessed this first hand, because no only is Ramse a great instructor, he's a great guy. He & other surfers volunteer there time to a program that helps special needs children with surf therapy. It was awesome to see the joy in the childrens' faces when he returned from riding the waves with them. With Ramse you'll sign up for a lesson and gain a new friend! Tip: Sign up for a private at least the first few times, it made a world of difference for us and his rates are reasonable and well worth it!

Ramse was such an amazing teacher! He got our whole group up and surfing on our first lesson. He was very friendly and fun to be around. I hope to get back for another lesson soon!

Ramse was an excellent surf instructor. My first time surfing and within 15minutes, I was catching a wave and standing on my surf board. Would highly recommend for anyone searching for a surf instructor in Puerto Rico. Ramse will give you his undivided attention and make sure you improve during the course of your lesson. He will also encourage you to try again and again. It's obvious that he's passionate about surfing and that's the kind of instructor you want to have! A and 5 stars.

Excellent experience. Pure "bucket list" gold! We had 6 in out group and Ramses had his long time friend Tito instruct so it was really a personal experience. The location was about as picturesque as it gets. A beautiful cove, a light house to the north and perfect weather. We had Zero experience with surfing and were able to get up within the first couple tries. They were attentive and excellent at correcting our flaws in technique immediately.

If you visit Rincon you should consider taking surf lessons with Ramse. Our group of 4 had never surfed. Each one of them was able to surf with this one lesson. Our group opted for the 2 hour lesson. It was a great workout and we would love to do it again. He explained things very thoroughly before we even got into the water. He gave individual attention even though there were 4 in the group. He's a charismatic guy, easy to understand, it felt like I was improving each time. A good balance of teaching and doing. Total novices and standing on the board with just one lesson. I was able to observe another instructor. It seemed less professional and the guy didn't explain how to hold the board in a safe way or any of the other lessons Ramse taught our group. I would definitely choose Ramse over anyone else.

I can't say enough about the experience we had with Ramses. He was completely accommodating with the time/day of our request and responsive to our phone calls/emails. When we arrived at the beach, it was POURING rain and thundering, he was so considerate of our wishes and offered several options for us to either reschedule, attempt a different beach or proceed in the rain. The day we booked the surf lesson was our only available day, so we chose to continue in the rain. He provided excellent instructions on the shore and ensure we all felt comfortable before going in the water. We had a group of six ages 11-37 all with little to no surf experience, yet he made us all feel like we were going to surf like the pro's. Just as our land instruction finished up, the sky cleared and in the water we went. What started out as a terrible rainy day ended up being a BEAUTIFUL & fun filled afternoon. Each member of the group had a great time and everyone got up on the board at least once. Ramses took time and coached each member individually and provided expert level guidance. After about 3 hours the lesson was over, but it will be a day we will all remember! I would HIGHLY recommend Ramses to anyone heading out Rincon looking to catch a few waves! We will be catching up with him on our next trip to the island for sure!!

Ramse is so good at explaining the process of surfing, step by step. We took 3 lessons with him (both of us had never surfed but we do snowboard) and we both stood up on the waves the first day! I was so nervous- I'm not the best swimmer and the ocean freaks me out!! Ramse is patient and makes it easy to schedule lessons, he's funny, and a great instructor. If you ever want to even think about surfing- take a lesson with Ramse!!! He makes it easy.

Really awesome with kids! We spent 2 mornings with Ramse, Adrian, & Pito and they were so great with our kids (ages 7,7,9,11,12). It was great to have 3 instructors for the 9 of us. We all caught lots of waves and felt very safe. Can't say enough great things about surfing with Ramse & his crew. It also felt really good to support a local business / local folks. It is worth your time to check out Tripvisor to see the photos customers have posted for this business - the pictures say it all!
