Casa Fernando Pessoa is a must-visit in Lisbon, especially if you are interested in literature. Fernando Pessoa is one of the most fascinating literary figures in history, and the museum does a great job of explaining why. Learning about his heteronyms (the multiple characters he created, each with their own personality, worldview, and distinct literary style) is genuinely mind-blowing. It’s captivating to see how these characters would completely take over his literary output for certain periods. The house is intimate, thoughtful, and very nicely curated, making Pessoa’s complex inner world surprisingly accessible. A quiet, intellectually rich experience that stays with you long after you leave.
