We had brunch outside on Sat. Shared two appetizers and two mains. Food was fresh and delicious! Service was great as well. Love the lamb meatballs, very tender. Salad was fresh. Came back and glad to see a fresh menu! Burrata appetizer was fresh, my salmon with kimchi rice was full of flavor and the desserts were great!

My girlfriend and I visited South+Pine in Morristown for her birthday lunch on a Saturday afternoon. While we were excited to try the place based on its glowing reviews, our experience turned out to be a bit uneven. Parking was a hassle, there's no dedicated lot, so we had to find street parking, which was metered and tough to come by on a weekend. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. and found the place nearly empty, with only one other table of diners inside. The space itself was cozy with a rustic charm, highlighted by unique wall decor made of old doors pieced together creatively. It had a quiet, relaxed vibe. We started off with drinks, the toasted coconut latte and the vanilla bourbon latte. Both were delicious, not overly sweet, and offered a nice balance of flavor and coffee. However, by the end of the drinks, the syrup had settled at the bottom, making the last few sips overly sweet, so I didn’t finish mine completely. For an appetizer, we shared the spicy lamb meatballs served over Greek yogurt and cucumber relish. They were flavorful, though definitely not spicy despite the name—barely a 1 out of 10 on the spice scale. For our entrees, I had the short rib and winter veggie hash with poached eggs and chipotle hollandaise, which was pretty good in terms of taste, but I was disappointed by how little short rib was in the dish, it leaned heavily vegetarian. My girlfriend ordered the Fried Chix 2.0 (chicken and waffles), and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. The chicken was bland and lacked seasoning, and even the waffles didn’t impress, which was especially disappointing since she’s a big waffle fan and didn’t even finish it. She said it was bland and chewy. Probably an over mixed batter. We also got a side of Polenta fries, made out of corn meal. These were pretty good, crunchy outer shell with a mushy seasoned corn meal on the inside. Service started out strong with a kind and attentive waitress who greeted us and brought our drinks. However, the second server who took our food order was less pleasant, her demeanor was curt and a bit rushed, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. At one point, she even pressured my girlfriend to order quickly, and I had to ask her to come back in a few minutes. Meanwhile, we could see some staff casually chatting at another table, which didn’t make the rushed vibe feel very justified. We decided to skip dessert and try another spot down the street instead. Overall, South+Pine had some highs, like the lattes and cozy atmosphere, but also several lows, particularly with the entrees and service. I suspect the rave reviews are more reflective of their dinner menu, which we didn’t get to try. I might consider coming back in the future for dinner, but as far as this birthday lunch went, it was just okay.

Came here for brunch and sat outside. Got the chicken and waffles. The dish comes out with the syrup on it which i wish it didnt. Id prefer to control my own pour. It was still good! Also, it is Byob

Nice place, food is also tasty. Staff is very professional and kind. So with that said experience was memorable but what left the sour taste in our mouths was the fact we got punished for using credit card as payment. Meaning got charged service fee! I am sorry but how is that guests/ clients responsibility? The owner of the place can pay his own credit card fees and charges. What times are we living in? It’s 2025 not COVID time where restaurant owners got this scam going then. So I will suggest for all there are so many other restaurants in Morristown that have great food and ambiance you can skip this place and won’t get punished for using credit and not cash. The owner runs a good scam for sure. Won’t be back!

I love this restaurant, I’ve come many times for brunch and dinner. They have an excellent menu that changes seasonally and I think the price is more accessible for the quality of food than other places in the area. We always appreciate that it’s BYO! The staff is wonderful also. One of my favorite places

Spectacular food with fresh, unique flavor combinations that rivals the best restaurants in the area. Service was great, the restaurant itself was quite crowded and loud on a Saturday night. BYOB.

Just got back from dinner and am very disappointed. Positives: service was pretty good Negatives: It is brutally cold outside and because of how the entrance is setup you are guaranteed to be cold with the front door constantly opening. I mention this because the neighboring restaurant (cotto) has a small glass entrance before getting to the main door. Hopefully South and Pine can adopt something similar for the extreme cold winter weather. Food was not very good. Wife's fish (which cost almost $50) came out cold and was very dry. She sent it back (which she never does) and the manager quickly responded they would remake it. The next dish came out and was cooked well. I would've bumped up the score but we noticed that the piece of fish from the 2nd go round was significantly larger than the first dish. I find it interesting that not only was the first dish not prepared well but they also gave a much smaller piece of fish. My pork chop was just ok. Last thing, when we received our bill it omitted our two drinks. I thought this was a kind gesture given we weren't happy with the food but when our waitress ran my card and came back they added it back to the total. We have been coming to South and Pine for years. I hope this isnt the new norm.

Got to enjoy a lovely evening dining outside South + Pine tonight. We had the steak and cesar salad with chicken. Both were delicious. The wine selection was even better! Alex our waitress spoiled us at the end with two lovely glasses of their coffee infused wine. Thanks for everything! Looking forward to coming back.

I like the food here. It can get very busy and is crowded - but they are dog friendly outside so I'm okay with that. The food is innovative and refreshing - yet still focuses on flavor! I've eaten here a few times and haven't had a bad dish yet. I haven't been inside - but outside has shade and the staff is amazing! This is a great place to eat if you're in the area!

I went to South and Pine for an early lunch with 3 others. We were seated quickly and the menu is small which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The menu feels like it's trying to appeal to a younger generation with an unnecessary abbreviated item same. I think most people would get it eventually, but my step mom had to ask the waitress to explain a lot of the times because she just didn't get them. The chix sandie wasn't abundantly clear it was a chicken sandwich and I ordered the chix 2.0 and it was also something not very clear for the jump vs just calling it chicken and waffles. The staff was not unfriendly. They brought our stuff and got our original drinks. Never checked on refills. Two staff members come to our table one of them was indifferent the other seemed annoyed by us. It wasn't like they were busy and there was maybe 2 other table there on a Wednesday late morning. The food which arguably is the most important part was aox bag. The chicken was really good, the crust was really good on it to. I was disappointed it didn't say it was bone in. I would have ordered it if I knew it was bone in. This goes back to the menu not having either enough info or clear info. The waffles were also very taste. Perfect crisp to them as well. The other problem was portion size. For 22 bucks I felt like it could have gotten a whole waffle and either 2 bigger pics of chicken or a 3rd piece. My one chicken piece had about as much meat as a chicken wing. It just didn't feel like a great value but the resturant is expensive a burger is 25. So it's on par with the prices here. Arguably the hanger steak at 28 is the best price. All in all I don't think I would come back there unless someone else really wanted to go. There are a lot of food options around in mlMorristown and I this place had a mix of things that just wouldn't make it my first few choices when going out.

I thought this place was fantastic. I had always passed up going to it cause it seemed so small and I found out too late it's BYOB. The meal was incredible the mix of flavors for everything was excellent. Everything our waitress suggested we got and it did not disappoint. I was extremely pleased. The only this I did not like was the way the tables were. My friend and I went and we were a table of 2 and it felt awkwardly place which i am sure was the best they could do to fit more tables inside.

Stopped in for brunch, and the food was excellent. I definitely recommend the burger. The drinks were delicious and rich in flavor.

I came here this past Sunday for brunch with a friend. I chose it because Morristown is a halfway point for us to meet up, it had a decent rating on Yelp and the menu seemed interesting. I was also looking forward to sitting outside and this place had that and is in the heart of the action on South St. We had a reservation for an outside table and were seated promptly. It's a little bit of a tight squeeze as they cram the tables in to maximize the seating. Our waitress was not rude or incompetent but she was a little indifferent and we didn't see here for long stretches at a time. I loved the Lavender London Fog tea that I started with. The dried lavender flowers on top was a nice touch and really amped up the lavender flavor. For my entree I had the BLT sandwich with avocado and a side Kale salad. No complaints here. Loved the tahini dressing on the salad. My friend got the chicken and waffles. The coating on the chicken was highly seasoned, crispy and delicious. However, the chicken itself was very dry. I also hate that it was chicken on the bone. For this dish, I'd prefer boneless thighs. The waffle was small and chewy. We also shared the apricot tiramisu. Very underwhelming, lacking flavor and interest.

This is a decent spot. We dined here with another couple on a busy Saturday night. It's a small space but well designed with mostly attentive service. For me, the standouts were the appetizers. We shared the chicken lollipops and pork belly. The chicken was so crispy and flavorful! We tried the arctic char and short ribs as entrees. Both were good but I wouldn't say exceptional or standout. I did thoroughly enjoy the grits that came with the short ribs. We also all split the earl grey tea tiramisu. It sounded interesting and innovative but missed the spot for us! It really did not feel like a tiramisu. I think I would have been more into it if it was called something else! It was tasty but unexpected given the name.

First time visiting after not being able to get in previously due to a long wait. I was really looking forward to finally get to try brunch here. The ambience and decor is very welcoming and draws you in for the brunch setting. The meals we ordered were fine, yet unfortunately nothing memorable. This wasn't a bad experience, but it left us wanting much more. Again, this isn't a bad review: it's just worth saying it wasn't my favorite brunch experience.

Good speedy service. They had kids water and a kids menu. Sour dough bread was good. Had the chix and waffles and salmon. Pretty good.

Such a cute place and really good food and mocktails. Came here for lunch and really enjoyed it. I had the peaches and cream mocktail - so refreshing and not too sweet. The burrata with pistachio pesto, stone fruits, and focaccia was so flavorful. Next up I had the grilled corn salad. Loved the buttermilk dressing on this salad. Everything was delicious and service was top notch. Would definitely come back.

Instant favorite. The food is ridiculously good. Very friendly people work here. Very rustic and comfortable environment. Can't hurt that the chef and owner is a Top Chef Contestant. Well done!!

Came for Sunday brunch with my friends. Place was packed so definitely a popular option for Sunday brunch. The decor and space was beautiful and I had high hopes for the food based on the good reviews. Unfortunately I was a little underwhelmed. I ordered the breakfast burrito which I didn't love. It had huge pieces of potatoes in it, not enough chorizo, and it was definitely missing some salsa on the side. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles which I found dry and overly sweet. I did enjoy their polenta fries and my friend's egg over winter hash. In general though I don't know that I'd return.

I was very excited to finally come her for brunch but was pretty disappointed. Very expensive for ordinary food. My husband ordered the breakfast burger that he said was very good. It comes with fries but we were told we could substitute for any other side so he got polenta fries... amazing!!!! *wish we were informed of $3 up charge Ordered the breakfast sandwich (fried eggs, pesto, bacon and fontina cheese). I asked for avocado instead of bacon, no problem. It comes with a side salad. What I was served was not right, it was a white/green very soft egg mash, cheese, pesto, no avocado but fine I had a problem with the eggs. Asked the waiter I was given and initially he said it was an egg scramble and then later said he wasn't sure what I was served because it looked different from the other egg sandwiches. They made a new egg sandwich with fried eggs, avocado but no cheese. It was fine, nothing special. On the bill I was charged $3 up charge I'm assuming for the avocado. (Fine but should tell me. When the breakfast sandwich was remade there was no cheese). Not sure why there was so much trouble with my meal. My husband ordered an iced coffee, good, $5.50 Bill over $50 for 2, nothing wowed us or special for those prices

Always a great meal. The service is also always very attentive and helpful. For a Thursday night the restaurant was packed, it's very nice inside but the only thing that I would change is the amount of tables crammed into the restaurant very loud and hard to move around. Food delicious though so for a good meal I would still go.

First time here and wow the food is to die for! Definitely make reservations because the place gets busy. We sat on the patio and the weather was beautiful. I had the grilled salmon which was perfectly cooked and paired with a really unique Korean bbq glaze. The kimchi fried rice and fresh cucumber salad were really pleasant as well. My friend got the kale caesar salad with salmon and it was a classic dish but prepared beautifully. Everything on their menu seemed very bright and fresh and they use locally sourced ingredients. Can't wait to come back!

Make a reservation if you want to have a pre-show dinner - the Mayo Performing Arts Center is next door. The Fried Chix 2.0 is delicious - crispy and well seasoned. The room is attractive. The service tries to be efficient.

First time visit. The ambiance is inviting. The service was OK. I like to say people have bad days but the servers just weren't attentive to the tables and even when we first walked in. Having to constantly look up just to wait to make eye contact was a bit annoying; though servers were kind. We started with the asparagus bisque which was reallyyyy my favorite part of the whole meal. It was smooth, creamy with a hit of zest. Loved it. For meals we both had sandwiches. The Turkey melt was alright. I wouldn't have it again. It was dry, not warm and crispy and the flavors of jam, Brie and Turkey didn't mesh well as it should've. Brie was clumpy and so was the jam. My friend had a blt which was okay too. I'd still definitely love to come back and try their breakfast menu and other options.

Don't waste your money on this $37 steak. It was so dry and rough, practically tasted burnt and not in the smoky good way. This was such a huge disappointment as the restaurant looked so cute and the photos online look delicious. Don't let the photos fool you and save your money. The only good thing was the fries were great but that's the extent of this restaurant.

Treated like Royalty! The owner/Chef was working at the hostess station; a group was annoyed waiting without a reservation. She kindly asked us to wait a little longer for our table...well! The wait was due to some people sitting at their table well past the expected time because they were waiting for the show at MPac. She ensured that our wait staff was on-point and went above & beyond to take care of us with appetizers at our table minutes after seating and a perfect dessert. Our meals were delicious! We will be back to enjoy this gem!

Came here for brunch. Thought the menu was really diverse--from salads, to shakshuka, to fried chicken and waffles--something for everyone. We were a group of five, so I only wish there had been more shareable appetizers on the menu. I wanted something healthyish, so I ordered the kale caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was good--not overly dressed or cheesed. My husband had a salad with salmon, and he enjoyed it. He also ordered the polenta fries, which were delicious. My main critiques are about the ambiance. The space is very tight. They've jammed in round tables in the center, so it's difficult for customers and servers to move around. My husband accidentally elbowed someone in a booth behind us. The music was also very loud. Cute spot, but wouldn't go out of my way to return.

The prices don't reflect the ambiance and the food imho. I ordered the strawberry salad which didn't really taste like much and the menu said that it had beets in it and it literally had the smallest beet cut into like 4 pieces. For the main I got the artic char and it was pretty bland. Also ordered the polenta fries and that was just ok as well. Sat by myself right next to the kitchen and I had to keep bringing my elbows in cause there was literally no space. Service was good but overall I wouldn't go back based on my experience. Not saying the foods ingredients aren't fresh and but just overall everything just mediocre.

I love the farm-to-table concept and this is one of our favorites in northern NJ. Seasonal items on the specials menu are must-trys. On our most recent visit, the malfadine was really spectacular!

We came for dinner with some girlfriends while in Morristown for conference. Had some salads and mocktails.

Super cute restaurant in downtown Morristown. Highly recommend for date night. The food was great the service was better and it is byob (and there is an amazing wine shop a block over with a great selection and knowledgeable staff). Our waitress was so helpful with recommendations. Our water cups were regularly filled. They are a farm to table restaurant and regularly change the menu based on the freshest supplies. I split the crab linguini and halibut with a friend. Both were delicious.

I never leave a reviews as I feel everyone has bad days, however with that being said I was excited to try the butternut squash salad. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. Not sure how you can mess up a salad. It was soggy and very salty. I would recommend laying off the salt a bit and assuring the food is prepared well as I don't believe it should have been soggy. Unfortunately I lost my appetite after. Our waitress was very kind but seemed to be having a rough day so I did not want to mention it as I felt bad. I decided not to order anything after and picked up food on the way home. The place is very warm and welcoming but I also noticed staff seemed burnt out and not too happy. To say I was disappointed is an understatement as myself and husband went there for our 20th anniversary after many recommendations.

I have driven by this place quite a few times so when my friend was in town I decided to take her out for brunch. There were two new drink specials that iced chai Horchata and the spiced apple cider, both very refreshing and delicious. For appetizer we share the Barada which is creamy and delicious and came with a slice of cornbread on the side also accompanied by a complementary basket of bread and whipped salted butter. I ordered the black and Caesar salad with salmon, and she ordered the fried chicken 2.0. The chicken was breaded in an interesting coding, my friend wasn't really a fan of it but she loved the waffles! I love my salad everything from the perfectly cooked salmon to the chickpeas added to the dressing was so delicious. We will be back

We had a wonderful meal on new years - everything was delicious from appetizer to dessert! Our server was very nice and the restaurant was comfortable and nicely decorated. The arancini were my favorite I wish I had a mountain of them!

Dined at South + Pine on a Saturday evening with my boyfriend and another couple. We had reservations at 8pm and were seated promptly when we arrived. The host was very pleasant and our server Sarah was extremely nice! We started with the burrata app & Lamb meatballs. Both were delicious. The meatballs were more Mediterranean style with a Greek yogurt/cucumber ish dipping sauce that was delicious!! I should add they also had a little kick to it, in case you don't like spice. For entrees we order the scallops, duck (both recommended by Sarah), fall harvest salad, and the local prime hanger as well as a side of hand cut truffle fries. I had the scallops, my dish was very tasty , although the risotto tasted more like farro , I expected it to be more creamy and soft. The duck was good but it was a small plate, not much for the price of the dish. The hanger steak was ordered medium rare and it came out pretty good. The fall harvest salad was very large, my friend was able to share with the table and still have leftover. As for the fries, they were okay, not the best truffle fries I've had. The place is also BYOB which I always love Overall we had a very nice experience dining here. They keep the dining room nice and cozy warm which I loved since I'm always cold. It's a small space so it does get pretty noisy inside. They do offer heated patio seating but I think it's still better to sit inside on a colder day.

One of my favorite spots to eat in Morristown! I typically don't go for American food but honestly, it doesn't even feel like American food to me. The items on the menu are so unique. The food has always been on point and I love that they switch up items on the menu based on what's seasonal (if I see soft shell crab or duck on the menu, I'm getting it lol). I always try something new when I come here and it's always been delicious - everything is always well presented and ingredients are fresh. Another plus is that it's BYOB - so be sure to bring a bottle for dinner in case you wanted to pregame before you go out in Morristown lol. Restaurant can get really packed so be sure to make a reservation in advance. Service has always been great when I came here. Highly recommend!

South and Pine is good but having been there a few times over the years, I think it needs a refresh. Doesn't appear as though the menu has changed much and the decor needs some sprucing up. Brunch today was good but not nothing exceptional. Squash app was good but a bit too much deep fry. Lamb meatballs were tasty but cold. Salmon club and grilled chicken sandwiches were fine. Very lively vibe. Hostess was salty but our sever, Nick, was excellent.

S+P is actually amazing! The food is some of the best I've had. The ambience is so warm and welcoming - especially the back room with the open kitchen. We LOVE the spicy lamb meatballs and the pumpkin mushroom papardelli on their fall menu!! The menu changes throughout the year and everything is fresh and locally sourced - you can taste the difference. We are eagerly waiting for the next seasons menu to come back and enjoy more delicious food! Service is also really great - attentive and efficient! A++

Everything is super professional. I stopped in here for some dinner before a show at MPAC which is literally right next door which is so convenient . I was blown away with the food , it is top quality ingredients in everything and all ingredients are sourced fresh and local. Chicken is so juicy and crispy. Steaks were tender and cooked perfect. Service was friendly and attentive.

Not worth the hype. It is very average food. Very weird vibes. They ran out of menus and wine glasses, they looked very chaotic. Messed up on my entree, then took it away so I had nothing to eat. They do not even give bread. It is BYO but the prices make up for it. The manager (a woman) was very nice and helpful though. They also have a patio but don't put on the heated lamp so it was freezing.

I haven't eaten here but wanted to this weekend as a mid-point destination with some friends from New York only to find a $25 per head reservation charge with a very tight 15 minute window until cancellation. Traffic being what it is, I'm not going to sweat the clock on a long distance rendezvous. Maybe when I buy that helicopter. More and more these ancillary dining fees and surcharges unfortunately remind me of booking a flight on Spirit Airlines. Sorry South + Pine.

Been going here for a decade but it's taken a step back with regard to food quality. Prices are up which we are fine with if it's excellent - but a dry short rib with mashed potatoes and no veggies for $42? It's a shame...decor is still nice and service decent but not a go-to for quality like it once was.

This is a review for using them for CATERING: My husband and his mother have birthdays a day apart, so I planned a little home celebration and asked South + Pine to deliver catering for the occasion. Ordering was so easy - an online form, they follow up via email, and let you know how to process payment. The day of, the food arrived HOT, fully accurate, and on time to the minute of request!!! The fantastic employee that dropped it off made sure to ask if it was okay to come in before helping me inside the house (amazing etiquette!) and took two minutes to unpack the dressings and toppings and explained each one carefully. Before he left, he grouped the sauces/toppings by dish to make sure I had myself together properly. I cannot WAIT to come into their facility to eat this stuff piping hot out of the kitchen, because it was SO good as catering, I can only imagine what it's like in their restaurant. We ordered: - chicken lollipops and lamb meatballs appetizer - black caesar salad - chicken and polenta waffles and the salmon with kimchi fried rice entrees. Incredible. What an experience for a great party!

Came here on a random weeknight for the very first time and luckily I made reservations. This place was completely packed upon arrival and throughout my entire meal. I was very lucky to find parking on the street not too far away as well. This area is very hip happening and with a lot of hustle and bustle. I was seated immediately and had a great table right next to the partially open kitchen. The view was incredible to see all the meals and food being prepared and ordered and pulled out. That was a great experience as well as being able to see the chef and owner in action. The menu itself is an incredible fusion as well as eclectic with multiple different influences. The food was super delicious and the portions are absolutely generous considering the area and the price. I gave this rating four stars because the food the environment the vibe the crowd really live up to it. Also the chef and owner was so nice to come by and say hello very casually. I would have however given this place one star because I actually sat at my table for 11 minutes with not a single person coming by to say hello acknowledge me bring water or bread or anything. It was so long that I sat there without a menu that I called the restaurant from my seat asking for my waitress and or waiter to please come by. They did apologize and the waitress came by two minutes later and my meal was able to commence.

My wife and I were finally able to enjoy a delicious meal here! Warm hospitality, quaint ambience on a chilly December evening, with scrumptious treats at every turn. We started with the Winter Veg Chowder which was just something we tried to warm us up but was something we kept remarking about throughout the meal - so tasty! We also tried the Spicy Lamb Meatballs, which seemed to be a favorite from other patrons (and for good reason). Our meals were the Kale Caesar with Steak and the Braised Short Ribs - both were incredible. Her salad and my ribs were bursting with flavor. Love it when the chef doesn't get in the way of fresh, local ingredients! Price? More than we like to spend for a bite out without special occasion, but the care each plate contained, we had no issue with whatsoever. Will definitely be back. Recommend reservations as it's such a popular place in town.

I just came back from Morristown w/ my rents for Father's Day brunch. The food was healthy, amazibg, and just right w/ the setvubgs. We ordered the summer squash salad, and it was delicious. The farmer's omelette was good, too. The service was nice and friendly. The ambiance was unique, homey, and rustic. I also liked that it also felt local to the community. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice local, farm to market healthy brunch.

Food was great. Service was horrible. The staff was barely attentive to my party. There were a few tables around my party that were constantly being checked in on. We asked multiple times for extra bread, no one ever came by. I don't recommend coming here if you have a larger party.

Came here for my friend's low-key baby shower and WOW were we impressed with the food. Everything was soooo tasty. I got the chicken and waffles. It was delicious. It was BYOB which is always nice. We sat outside on a beautiful day. I ordered some refreshing drink off of their list and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are looking for quality, come here.

Had our team lunch here today and it was very good. Started with sharing the lamb meatballs w babaganoosh and the butternut squash with a honey ricotta drizzle - both were really good. Friends enjoyed their BLT and the chicken n waffles dish and my grilled salmon was very good! Great spot, great atmosphere, cool menu choices! We skipped dessert today...next time!

I've been to south + pine a few times and I have to say I enjoy it more and more each time I visit. I love the outdoor area in the warmer months and the inside is very warm, inviting, and cozy during the winter time. I appreciate how fresh and locally sourced all the food is. There's really a lot of care behind the ingredients and the dishes here - and you can tell. They take pride in their food. Also did I mention it's a BYOB?? Major plus! One of my favorite dishes here is the salmon. It's fresh and flavorful and I love the kimchi rice it's served over. I also really love the salmon club at brunch. If you haven't realized yet..I just love salmon and must try it wherever I go lol the fried chicken and waffles is also very good and an elevated version of what you would expect frol this dish. Overall, A+ for south + pine. Can't wait to go back!

Ate there for lunch with my girlfriend. Awesome lunch and drinks. Great service too! They were helpful in deciding which entree to go for. As well cocktail choice to kick things off.

We had a late lunch on a Saturday. Soups and appetizers were excellent. My salmon club was tasty and my wife's salad was delicious. Service adequate. A bit cramped and noisy . Will try their dinner.

So this is my 2nd time to south + pine and the food is delicious. I love that it's a farm to table... however the staff both times weren't the most welcoming and all the servers were slow. They were gathering talking amongst themselves while forgetting about us paying customers. There were several occasions where we felt uncomfortable and we were celebrating my friends engagement- something that is supposed to be REALLY special. I'm happy to support a local business but their lack of friendliness is making me question if I will be back for a third......

A lot of things to like about south and pine..locally sourced ingredients, diverse menu, BYOB, though food came up a bit short. The chicken in the kale Caesar salad was extremely over cooked and dry, maybe the worst chicken I've ever had (imagine if you took a piece of over cooked chicken and further nuked it in the microwave). The hash was ok, but not what was expected (I was only able to taste the sweet potatoes). The highlight were the polenta fries but they could have been much crispier. Service was polite and adequate but nothing stood out, we had to flag the waitress down for water or anything else that was needed
