"Take in the underwater sights With amazingly clear emerald waters, the calm sea off of Santa Margherita and Portofino is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving (May-September is the best season, although it has been known to stretch!). Il Grande Blu provides all you need to enjoy the waters - instructors, equipment, even towels! And if you prefer to stay on top of the water, they have kayaks for rent, as well as a beautiful full-service beach. (If you are up for even more of an adventure - head even further around the bay to San Fruttuoso to scuba dive - there is a sunken Christ figure just a few meters out into the bay that is really gorgeous to view up close!)"

A great choice for our weekend trip to dive at Portofino Marine Reserve. We did 5 dives, all guided by Il Grande Blu staff. We had the freedom to dive in our buddy teams but we had the discreet guidance by the operator. That's how I like diving. On Saturday the area is very crowded but the team worked well and was still kind and courteous! We'll be back!

I had my first dive here and the experience was great! The staff is friendly and well organized; the instructor which followed me, Marco, is professional and made me feel completely safe under water. The girl at the reception also helped me a lot when I was looking for accommodation. The diving center is at walking distance from the center of Santa Margherita Ligure, in a very nice location - there is also a bus which takes you directly to the train station. The natural reserve of Portofino is incredibly beautiful and there is a lot to see under water (it was plenty of fish when I was there!). The center organizes also visits to the famous Christ of the Abyss and a wreckage from second world war. It was a lot of fun in the couple of days I was there, definetly coming back next summer :)

If you want to dive in this area choose “The Big Blue”. at Cova di Nord Est. Luca and Fin did an amazing job. It was my first dive and it could not have been any better 🐠🐟

We were trying tot contact the suba center without luck. Driving tot the place we were not able tot find it. Asking around we discovered that it does no longer exist. We lost an entire Day due to this.
