The hotel and the service was excellent. The property well kept. The ladies who work at the reception area was friendly and professional very warm and made sure we were comfortable. We came for a wedding that I had planned as a wedding coordinator. Mr McCalla the expert on wedding and dining was great as usual. Ms Michelle Doswald the manager very professional and made sure our stay was great. The staff members below need to be recognized for their hard, and professionalism in handling the wedding. |Lesmore west |Natrica Brown|Amardo Oliphant |Caretha Bucknor|Roshelle Richard |Lisa Ellis|There was nothing too small or too large that they couldn't handle.|The food was Top quality omg. The service excellent|Property well kept.|I would recommend this as one of the top 10 places to get married in Jamaica.|Ochi best little hotel |quiet and private and for me its a 10/10.|Keep up the excellent work.|@hibiscuslodge hotel

I went to two weddings here in the space of 4 months, and I enjoyed both. That ocean view is second to none. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The service quality food. Overall, I would go back.

Stunning location overlooking the Caribbean. Old skool Colonial vibes, white picket fencing up a steep cliff with verandas bursting with an old almond tree. The most evocative hotel we’ve ever stayed in and we’ve stayed in some pretty stunning places. The rooms are fairly basic but make up for it in romance. Sitting on the balcony late at night listening to the crickets and watching the dark sea was one of the loveliest experiences of my life. Tiny pool but who needs one with the sea at the bottom of the dock. Food excellent, especially the breakfasts.

The food was good in the restaurant. |The rooms were VERY tired and the nightclub opposite kept us awake to 2pm- noisy considering how far out the town. |It was odd that they wanted a room deposit when there was nothing in it! We struggled to charge phones. |Pool had a good view. It was small but the jacuzzi was lovely.

Hotel staff could not be any less interested if they tried to. ||My room, TV not working, problem with the provider … which sounds to me they have not paid the bill..||No hot water due to it being solar and no sun..go figure .. should work on power as fall back.||The food in the restaurant is disgusting.. it’s either out the freezer or rice that has turned to mulch||I felt like Oliver asking for more at breakfast when I wanted more coffee.||Kept awake at night by a bar across the street, it sooo loud.. luckily I had my ear plugs.||And a hotel is no place for keeping birds in tiny enclosures the size of a cupboard.

Pros: |By far the hotel’s best feature is the beautiful view. Our room’s balcony had a full view of the ocean and the view from the restaurant and bar was also spectacular. |The room was very basic but clean. The grounds were well maintained. The hotel location made it easy to walk to downtown Ocho Rios. ||Cons: |The service in the restaurant was not very friendly. The staff didn’t look like they enjoyed working there. It was very different from the other hotels we stayed at in Jamaica where we were always greeted with smiles by the staff. ||The loud music from across the street kept us awake until past 2 am on our first night (a Saturday). The other nights it was loud too, but stopped around 11 pm -12am.||But above all, what was the biggest downer for us about this hotel was the caged macaw. The beautiful yellow and blue macaw was by himself in a hideous concrete cage with nothing in it but a metal perch. The bird looked depressed and sad. It was hard to walk by his cage every day to go to our room. It made us upset and sad. Macaws are very smart and social birds, they require a lot of space, attention and mental stimulation, and a partner for companionship. We found out this bird didn’t even have a name and had been living in that cage for years. It broke our hearts to witness such lack of loving care for such a beautiful animal. ||For these reasons, I give the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel a 6/10 rating.

We stayed at the Hibiscus Lodge for 3 nights. We were able to easily check into our room. However, if accessibility is at all an issue for you, this may not be the best choice as there are a lot of uneven stairs and it’s difficult to lug multiple suitcases up them. The views are absolutely stunning. There is a pool, but the way it’s set up it faces the opposite direction of the ocean. There is also a small water access (I wouldn’t call it beach access). My partner and I agreed it’d probably be best to just stay at one of the many all inclusives nearby. There is AC, but the fan switch in our room was completely broken when we arrived. We had a trail of ants in our room after it rained one afternoon, and we did have a roach in our room during our stay unfortunately. There is free breakfast (much appreciated) and a restaurant on site, but it’s quite expensive for the quality. I’d opt for the short walk to Miss T’s instead. If you want to get around while you’re in Ocho Rios, you will want to hire a driver for the day as taxis run about $80 round trip no matter how far you’re going. It made exploring feel a bit limited. It’s very noisy at night. If you’re a light sleeper in any way, please heed the other reviews that share the same sentiment.

I stayed at the Lodge July 31 - August 1, 2024. Location was perfect. Hibiscus Lodge is a GEM. Room was clean. Air conditioner worked. Shower was delightful. No BUGS. Bed was comfortable. Staff extremely friendly. I MEAN EVERYONE WAS NICE AND WARM WITH A SMILE. My view from my room was spectacular. I was located in front of the pool, with a view of the sea. The grounds were beautiful and refreshing. The Almond Tree Restaurant served a delicious complimentary breakfast and the staff is warm and friendly. The drinks at the bar was wonderful. I enjoyed my stay and I am looking forward to returning. So happy I found Hibiscus Lodge. It was a problem free vacation! Oh, yeah, I had a massage by the pool in the evening with the sound of the sea, it was fabulous.
