A reallly lovely, relaxing plaza which serves as a central gathering place for both locals and tourists. It is very easy to reach and has a lot of cultural significance dating back to the 17th Century and surrounded by stalls and restaurants. It also offers great views of the Andes. A great place to start our tour.

San Pedro de Atacama, Chile 🇨🇱 is a dusty little oasis where Mars meets Burning Man and everyone forgot chapstick. It’s a desert town, yes, but also a melting pot of backpackers, stargazers, wannabe shamans, and people pretending not to have altitude sickness. Expect adobe houses, llamas roaming casually, and about 47 tour agencies on every street trying to sell you the exact same geyser trip at “special price.” The stars here are unreal, the air is dry enough to mummify fruit, and the vibe is half spiritual awakening, half sunstroke. At 2400 meters above sea level with humidity so low your eyebrows flake off, San Pedro de Atacama is where water bottles go to die. Everyone’s wearing alpaca sweaters, even if it’s 25°C, because apparently overheating is the price of looking “local.” Verdict: Weird, wonderful, and just dusty enough to be cool. Would come back with moisturizer, electrolytes, and fewer expectations of clean socks.
