"Where is this hotel, and what does it look like?Just off the main Camps Bay beachfront strip is this hip, 17-room boutique hotel run on green architectural principles (it even has its own water supply, for example). From the road, you enter a starkly modern architectural space through an automated glass door. A minimalist indoor-outdoor cocktail bar and lounge leads to a lap pool and terrace with a sea view. Zen-calm, the dining space provides a cool, tranquil counterpoint to the sunshine glare. Books, board games, bean bags, organically shaped solid wood tables and a Smart TV give the lounge a lived-in, rumpus room feeling. Tell us about the other guests; who are they?Sunseekers, either lounging by the pool or heading down to the beach. Mostly European. How was check-in?Seamless check-in by friendly staff. The 17 rooms are compact and therefore highly functional spaces. Speaking of rooms: Give us the details.My room was street-facing with a partial sea view from the small balcony. Natural wood and raw slate add warmth to an otherwise functional, uncluttered space. The design is open-plan to further maximize space, which means from the very comfortable king bed you can see the walk-in double rain shower and large bath tub (but not the separate loo, behind frosted glass). There’s underfloor heating for winter, AC for summer, plus TV, DVD player, Nespresso machine, iPod docking station, and complimentary minibar. Mini mountain-facing rooms are ideal if location (proximity to the beach) counts for more than space and a sliver of a view of Lion’s Head is good enough. Three of the luxury rooms have private plunge pools, and partial sea views. Anything else you'd like to call out?I loved the striped beach bag stocked with sunscreen lotion, towels and beach bats, and the selection of complimentary digital newspapers and magazines available to download. Rates include a fully stocked mini bar, unlimited tea, coffee and mineral water, free wifi, and use of a fully equipped gym in the basement. Choose a movie and get complimentary room-service delivery of popcorn and other snacks. There is a lap pool and sea-view cocktail bar, and secure underground parking. Perfect. How about the on-site dining? Worth it?A generous breakfast is included in the rate—buffet style fresh fruits, cheeses and cold cuts, pastries, fresh smoothies, top-quality tea and coffee, followed by a cooked breakfast. For other meals, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and tapas bars within walking distance along the Camps Bay seafront. Ask the staff for insider recommendations, or order take-outs and staff will serve it in the dining room. Order a picnic to be sent down to the beach, along with a beach umbrella and chairs. Honestly, nothing beats a buffet-style breakfast—especially a fresh one. Tell us something about your experience there that really stood out to you.Nobody minded when we arrived with sandy feet after a day on the beach with take-out pizza from a nearby restaurant. The manager set up a table so that we could enjoy the last of the setting sun, and opened a bottle of wine. Bottom line: worth it, and why?As a conveniently located bolthole, set back from the busy Camps Bay beachfront without missing out on the cool vibe and ocean views, especially if you don’t want to hire a car. We stayed in this boutique hotel from 23rd Dec-1st January 2026 with our 2 sons who are 24 and 28. It is set directly across from the expansive beach which you can see from the lovely terrace area. There is a small lap pool next to a sun lounging deck and well stocked bar area. |We had a deluxe ground floor room with a plunge pool and a small private courtyard. The rooms were very clean and spacious but could do with a bit of tlc. It was well equipped and had a complimentary mini bar with wine and cold drinks. There was also tea and coffee making facilities. House keeping kept us well stocked with anything we needed.|Breakfast was great with a good variety of hot and cold foods, with everything freshly made including the juices and granola. If they didn’t have what you wanted they made an effort to offer other options or supply it the next day. There is also a small gym with lighter weights a treadmill, bike and cross trainer, enough for a few days stay. |Restaurants are a small walk away across from the beach with plenty of variety for all tastes. |The great thing about this hotel was the service provided by the wonderful staff, nothing was too much trouble . We made several changes but they helped us each time with a smile and professionalism. |We would definitely return as it was home from home and well placed for beach and restaurants. Obviously over Christmas it was a very busy area but that gave it a lovely atmosphere.

The POD was fantastic. The décor, location, and service were all outstanding, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The breakfast was delicious, the pool area was lovely, and we really enjoyed lunch there as well. The complimentary happy hour was a highlight—great drinks and canapés paired with an incredible sunset.||We would love to call out individual team members, but the truth is that everyone was fantastic—from reception to the restaurant and bar staff, right through to housekeeping. Everyone was lovely, chatty, helpful, and truly awesome. We will definitely be back. Don’t look any further—book this place!

Fabulous staff, all extremely attentive and super friendly. We don't drink alcohol and they restocked our minibar daily with none alcoholic options which was a really nice touch.||The hotel rooms are lovely, beautiful decor, nice and modern but still cosy. Really exceptional dressing gowns, the best we've used in a hotel! Also fantastic breakfast with a buffet and some great menu items.||On a few nights the team collected pizza from the local pizza place and served it up for us in our room - what an amazing service. 😊||Highly recommend!

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon, everything about this hotel and staff was excellent! It’s in a terrific location for Camps Bay, has a relaxing atmosphere, manager Sean and staff were exceptional and could not have done more for us. Amazing experience, amazing stay, and amazing people. You can really tell they enjoy what they do, and they absolutely deserve a special mention. Everyone was kind, smiling, and ready to help with any request, true hospitality. The location is fantastic as well, just a few steps from the beach and coffee/restaurant spots. Not to mention the sunset from the pool is incredible, definitely a must stay in Cape Town.

The hotel is in an amazing location with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains, just a few steps from the beach. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I had the pleasure of meeting Megan, who was professional, helpful, and exceptionally kind.||The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The hotel offers a perfect combination of views, vibrancy, and a calm atmosphere, creating a truly memorable experience. Sean and the whole team at Pod Camps Bay were amazing, all super friendly and attentive, giving such thought, and including personal touches to looking after us when we stayed. We loved things like coffees across the hotel on tap/included in the price, as well as nice snacks in the room included, as well as just the overall ambience and calibre of the hotel. The bed and room were great too, the big comfy pillows and size of the bed were amazing. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure we enjoyed our stay in Cape Town. We will be back!!
