Museum Cobra

Great Museum and thanks for celebrating this famous Artist group. Easely to bike in 30 min. from Jordaan. Very friendly people at the reception and within the Museum..... Typically dutch :-)

If you like your modern art it's definitely worth it. I wouldn't say it was necessarily amazing but a nicely curated exhibition. They was a temporary instalation from a Japanese artist which was nice but again if you're not a big modern art fan it might be a little lost on you.

I recently visited the Cobra Museum voor Moderne Kunst, and it was a wonderful experience. The exhibitions were vibrant and inspiring, showcasing modern art in a unique and engaging way. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy contemporary art.

Even though I enjoyed the special exhibit on 50 years of Surinam independence, I was beyond disappointed that there was barely any Cobra art on display. I love the Cobra art movement and had really looked forward to revisiting Appel, Corneille, Lucebert... Please bring those works out of the depot!

Truly a unique museum, starting from the Danish, Dutch ans Belgium experimental movement after WWII. This time, besides the Cobra exhibition, Anton Corbijn's photographic work showed a really refreshing view of his dynamic interaction with the world of music and movie royalty (also with Dutch royalty). A vast scope with masterful pieces like only Anton could pull off.

I love this museum! It's often overlooked as it is not situated in Amsterdam. Amstelveen is a short distance from Amsterdam and is easily reached by public transport. This museum of modern art is highly recommended and there is always an exciting and carefully curated exhibitions in addition to the permanent ones. Go and visit...you won't regret it. The location in the city centre (Stadshart) is full with shops, theatre, restaurants and cafés.

A visit to the Cobra Museum had been on our wish list for a while. The exhibitions about Cuban photographer Alberto Korda and Moroccan modernists made us decide to visit the museum and this was a great experience as can be seen in the photos and clips.
