Had a wonderful time at Annabelle’s in Calgary! The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect. Kristine, our server, was amazing — so friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. Highly recommend for a great night out!

I am surprised by how many negatives reviews they received. Okay… service wise… I agree they can do better, but my experience with the server wasn’t too bad. I personally don’t mind that he doesn’t engage in small talks. He straight up takes the order and be gone and come back with food. I’m cool with that. Food wise… yes portion is a bit small, but I’m okay with it as the pricing was not too bad. We paid $150 for 4 people all satisfied. Most items are on the saltier side, but I’m okay with it as well. Location is excellent as I love madra loop. However, parking can be a bit challenging.

To be honest 2 star is far a lot for this place ,I always walk past here because I live close by and I was curious so I tried it,first of all service was the worst thing, the women who serves didn’t even say hi or hello she acted as if she wanted to be anywhere but there ,other people were good though, food was not good enough for the price charged ,the topping of the pizza was falling off everywhere and ravioli was bad ,and not to mention tiniest portions ,also I didn’t like the atmosphere, people come here to show off and say we are cool or something no warmth ,no sounds ,no music so no I won’t go back

The service was amazing. Lots of parking nearby. There were quite a few gf options - the pizza crust was ok, but pizza toppings delicious. Meatballs and cocktails delicious. Would recommend, but chairs were wicker and wood and so uncomfortable, coulsnt wait to get out of them, had a hard time enjoying my time.

Had a great dinner at Annabelle’s Kitchen. We ordered the campanelle pasta (basil pistou, potatoes, green beans, pistachio crumb) and the squid ink linguini (prawns, tomatoes, white wine, basil). Both standouts with thoughtful flavor, texture and striking presentation; a testament to Chef Kelvin’s skill. Service was a highlight. Maria guided us through the menu confidently and made very palette friendly recommendations. Jerry and the team was present on the floor, checking in and helping things run smoothly. It felt like the team genuinely cared about the dining experience. The only minor drawback: toward the end of the evening, the dining room got lively, which made it a little harder to hear at times. It didn’t take away from an otherwise excellent night. Definitely a spot I’d recommend and one I’ll be returning to.

First time visiting the Marda Loop location. Expectations exceeded. The squid ink pasta was cooked perfectly, and the pizza crust was delicious and crispy. Roasted eggplant was a little bland. Good price overall and all the servers were attentive and very nice to interact with.

As A European I do crave Old Continent vibes and flavours. Annabelle’s Kitchen (especially Marda Loop location) brings back memories from my Italian travels: perfectly cooked botomless Nona’s meatballs, salty pastas and thin crust pizzas. Every dish sprinkled with Parmigiano Reggiano, loud music and sassy servers with great attitude. True blue Italian joint.

Yelp
Went by myself on my last work trip to Calgary. I stayed at an Airbnb in Marda Loop and this was such a gem! I didn't try their pizza or pasta but they looked incredible. I had the artichoke fritters and panzanella salad and the flavours on the salad were so good. Enjoyed a glass of wine and the ambience then walked back to the Airbnb. Can't wait to go back and try the pizzas!

Yelp
We went there last evening. my five year old daughter was tired and hungry and having a meltdown. we got a table outside and ordered a kids spaghetti in a tomato sauce for her and a pizza for my husband and I and a couple of drinks. the pizza was excellent, the spaghetti was ok. but what really sucked was the attitude of the servers. we were the only ones with a kid and you know when one is not welcome. anyone who has a kid knows that feeling. we asked for some extra cheese and they charged $2 for that. we were already charged $15 for her spaghetti. The kids spaghetti and meatballs was at $16 FYI. we finished our food and left without dessert because we just didn't feel welcomed. to sum it up: good food but an unkind spirit. Not going back, of course.

Yelp
We let our Calgarian friend's pick a new spot for us to try. They decided on Annabelle's Kitchen, a neighbourhood style Italian restaurant. They have a second location downtown but this one is located next door to Springbank Cheese. We dropped in on an early Tuesday evening (6:30pm) and the patio was busy. Service was good; our waitress checked in on us several times. The menu is small; antipasti, pizza, pasta, kids menu and dessert. Dishes are meant to be shared family style. - Fusilli ($20.00) - fusilli had a good al dente bite. Really enjoyed the lemon bits; added bright, acidic notes. Didn't notice much, if any, of a chili sauce hit. - Kale campanelle ($18.00) - the green olives were a brilliant addition. Never had that in a pasta dish before. The only two things we didn't like about the pasta dishes was that the portion sizes were too small. You won't get full on one. - Tearing me up ($19.00) - pizzas are a better portion but there wasn't much eggplant on it. Tasted more artichoke than eggplant. The spiciness comes from the chili oil. Standard flavours. - Mind your manner ($22.00) - not sure where the "wagyu" comes in; we couldn't tell the difference. The hot honey was an interesting addition. Added some sweetness but nothing over the top. AK was good, simple Italian fare but the portion size is somewhat lacking. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Due to this bizarre and seemingly ceaseless global imposition to us all, we sat outside. Virtually in the street making the possibility of being hit by a car reversing far more plausible than a couple of days in bed with a temperature more likely. We didn't expect a lot from this local eatery and were pleasantly surprised by tasty uncomplicated dishes served by charming and knowledgable staff. The cocktails were pretty good too, though the gin/basil one was a little overpowering and felt a little like imbibing a concoction of alcohol and sativa. Pizzas were pretty good, but I prefer a stone/wood fired oven that produce the extreme heat enabling the puffy edges and a thin and slightly soggy middle that I like so much. Will surely return as it's a must for us all to support any local businesses that are suffering immensely until the scaremongering ceases.

Yelp
This was one of our best meals ! The meatballs are the best we have ever tasted ! Plus they are gluten free , made from scratch pasta ! The wine was just made our meal ! Dessert was the best! We will be back for sure

Yelp
Not impressed with the pizza at all. Also, very small menu. I would not come back for pizza but maybe for a glass of wine. It's a shame since the location and vibe of the place are quite nice!

Yelp
We did a drive-by pickup last night from the restaurant's abbreviated take-out menu. There were four pastas offered online but when we called to order, one was not available - the one two of four diners wanted. A bit of a disappointment, but we ended up with two orders of spaghetti bolognese and two of rigatoni with mushrooms. Both pastas were declared superb. Not only the flavours of the sauces, but the pasta itself: perfectly cooked, just the right texture. We had started with the ricotta toast, which is also delicious, although much better enjoyed onsite as the toast got soggy on the drive home ( a short time in the toaster oven fixed that). We haven't been to Annabelle's in a couple of months, so it's nice to know the quality is definitely still there.
