"Yang's Fry Dumpling Q: What could be better than soup dumplings? A: An order of fried soup dumplings; duh!Yang's fills itss heng jian bao with thesame juicy pork filling as the ubiquitous steamed xiao long bao , but the restaurant uses thicker dough so the dumplings can stand up to super-high temperatures. When they're finished frying, the buns crisp up on the bottom, turning a beautiful shade of golden brown. Enjoy them with chopped cream onions and sesame seeds, but bite carefully: It's too easy to get zapped in the eye with hot broth."

Excellent local soup dumpling spot. Friendly staff, quick service and very tasty! We shared a couple of orders of two different dumplings between us which was perfect for a light lunch. The dumplings containing the ‘soup’ were awesome. Never had them before but would happily eat them again!

Delicious dumplings! Good sized portions and reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again. Went on a busy Sunday morning and the staff helped me to get a seat quickly sharing a table with a family of three. Constant stream of locals shows how popular it is

We were in Shanghai for a business trip and while having short free time, a group of colleague and I visited Nanjing st and while there we were trying to find spot for dinner. This small restaurant is having a good review and we decided to try. Little that we know this place will blown us away with the taste, quality of the food as well as the services, on top of that the price is very affordable, one portion of dumpling, one noodle and one water for CNY 31!! The fried dumpling is to die for here and definitely a must visit if you go to Shanghai

Stopped by for breakfast as I found it on Google map and not far from the subway. I ordered 4 pieces of mixed pork with crab soup and prawn fried dumpling and a small chicken soup with wanton. The portion was huge and those dumplings were exceptional. Crispy outside, tasty soup and meaty inside. I couldn't ask for more. Perfect meal with a very affordable price. I'm a foreigner but very easy to order by using either Alioay or wechat to scan QR code. There was a live wanton making just next to my table. What a meal.

When I arrived at around 1pm the restaurant was jam packed as the pics show. So I chose take out. The menu for the dumplings are easy as they have pics on the board and menu. No English text though. I ordered the prawn and veg/meat combo, as you see in the vid freshly being made in the compact kitchen. Both were delicious. Thin skins, great flavor with a lot of filling, crisp at the bottom, silky soft above and perfectly seasoned. Crazy taste sensation especially with the added sesame. It all combines to give you an amazing dish that will become addictive. Both portions in my pic for ¥43 is enough to fill me easily, excellent value too. Don’t waste your money at Michelin star restaurants. Try this.

Descent quality of food, but can find better ones, price vs quality is good, not very crowded and fast serving

The dumplings here are excellent—flavorful and well-made. Ordering is surprisingly easy thanks to WeChat QR codes at each table that translate the menu automatically. This feature makes navigating the Chinese-only menu simple for visitors. Service follows the typical no-frills Chinese style. Don't expect chatty waitstaff, but the food speaks for itself. It gets quite full for breakfast, so take care when you go if you want to snatch a table.
