Great breakfast tortas and al pastor tacos.
Walked in around 6 a.m. looking for something savory. Roma Norte likes to hit the snooze button until 8 AM, but this spot was up and grilling at dawn. We ordered a couple tacos and a chorizo torta, and everything hit the spot.
The Al Pastor seemed to be the most popular taco here, and it was juicy and crowned with that essential slice of grilled pineapple. The other taco meats were a bit on the dry side, but that was nothing a heavy hand with the table salsas and pickled jalapeños couldn't fix.
The real gem was the Chorizo torta. In the U.S., torta bread I’ve tried required a jaw-workout. Here, it was pillowy and soft, almost like a brioche bun. Loaded with avocado and veggies to cut the chorizo spice, it might just be the best breakfast sandwich in the city.
