"Equal parts quirk and luxury, Soho Boutique Hotel is a funky stay with friendly staff and a sleek-and-chic vibe. It has conference facilities and high-speed internet for business travelers, but its location right next to Váci Street, the city’s main pedestrian shopping zone, makes it just as appealing to tourists. The 76 rooms and most of the eight suites feature contemporary decor that’s a hodgepodge of modern and midcentury revival styles with 1970s color schemes (think bright hues of orange and olive green). However, a couple of the suites stray from the hotel’s general vibe, insteadhighlighting goth accoutrements such as black chandeliers and purple walls in honor of a local theatrical performance called Dance of the Vampires . Fittingly, free tickets to the show as well as spooky welcome drinks are included in the price."

Positive the location, the rest it’s overrated. Old rooms, horrible front desk, expensive breakfast (16 euros per person) the hotel is not terrible but definitely a 3 stars. They smoke weed on the halls not suitable for families.

Positive: Location is great, very nice neighborhood and you can go anywhere walking or by public transport. Also, workers in general are very nice. Negative: The double room they gave us had two single beds put together that moved constantly which was quite uncomfortable, and the bedsheets and towels weren’t very clean… During the check in they ask you for all your credit card details, something that hasn’t happened to us before!

Location is everything for this hotel. Bus stop, tram stop and metro all within 3-4 minutes walk and plenty of nearby restaurants. Hotel wise the rooms are shabby, holes in cupboards and bathroom drains would sometimes smell. Breakfast I wouldn't bother with in future as it's below par and plenty of places to eat out and about. Despite all that the beds were comfy and I'm the kind of traveller who is never in their room and just need a place to sleep so I can explore the next day. So for the location alone I would return.

We stayed here for a week on the 4th floor, for F1 weekend and a 4 day trip after. Rooms definitely need some renovations as the walls were very stained and some areas were a bit blah. Shower - lovely! Best shower pressure. Bed was super comfortable but no mattress topper so felt a bit wrong. Bed sheets had stains but I could tell it had been washed. Room walls are super thin, we got woken up one night to a guy vomiting everywhere in the hallway and then he decided to give himself a happy ending in the morning, so that was... eventful. All this did happen on the last two days. Air con was not amazing but worked. Hotel staff greeted us when we walked in and out, very friendly - no issues there. Location, not so great, 30min walk to most places which isnt too bad BUT we stayed at another hotel on a previous visit near the basilica which was more central and if we were to return to Budapest for a 3rd time, we won't be returning here. We will be going back to our previous hotel - Opera Gardens. Breakfast - we weren't going to pay €15 each for continental, so we decided to go to the local bakeries which was right outside the hotel. So save some €€ and go to the local bakeries as it only cost me €5 for breakfast each day - with a drink! So all in all, I would rate it as a 3* hotel at most. Good for a short trip but, will not be returning here again.

This place is incredible for what you get and the best accommodation in the area. We had to book last-minute due to an issue with our Airbnb. Fortunately for us, this place had rooms and good rates. When we arrived, the front desk staff were welcoming, understanding, up front with us about pricing and amenities, and gave amazing recommendations close by for us to check out. You're pretty much close to everything here and the restaurants / bars are great with a lot of local spots. Even the laundromat down the street was a quick help for us in the middle of an otherwise busy trip. The bar in their lobby made great drinks and were cheap. The room was small but we never felt crowded. It was quiet at night despite being in the center of everything. When we come back to town, we plan on staying here again.

Worst experience I had ever in a hotel! We booked for 3 nights and had to leave after the first one. The room stank due to the bathroom not draining properly. WC and shower got clogged and the odour was awful. And the only solution they had was to pour a tap of water through the drain... Of course it did not help at all and the hotel did not even offered a room change when there was availability (we checked externally, and there were some rooms at the same prices or cheaper). Additionally, the hotel announces sound proof rooms and it is quite the oposite. You could hear everyone on the corridor, conversations of the next room and bear in mind the hotel area is full from pubs and night clubs/discos so expect noise up to really late at night! We finally had to book for another hotel for the remaining 2 days and leave. Then, when we asked for a refund or compensarion, they have not answered any call. We have been through booking and after two weeks and 15+ calls (calling everyday) the manager was never there apparently! "He is on vacation", "by next Monday he will be available" "no, not today Monday, by next Tuesday or Wednesday maybe he is here..." I know he was there and just decided not to take any responsibility at all, so unprofessional and dishonest. But the review rate speaks for itself... We have even initiated a complaint process with all the evidence we got documented. In summary, really really bad experience, not even a true 4 star hotel by far and the customer service is absent and eluding responsibility!

I found the Hotel to be good. The room was a little small and amenities were few, but you have to understand where you are . The Soviets left the region in about 1991. Lots of rebuilding to do . I had a wonderful time though . Nice bar in lobby . Fair price for Hotel room. Breakfast staff were awesome. They were from Barcelona or Spain area I believe. The breakfast was very good I thought. The coffee was actually very decent. Overall, this is a solid hotel in a great district that gives you the flavour of the "Pest" region of Budapest. There is a Vietnamese noodle house about 15 minutes walk from the hotel, which was particularly good as well. The locals would probably know the name of it. There are many museums, statues, and the house of tear, which is a must although disturbing , close by. Overall, it would not hesitate to stay here again, the country seems very well run and has a very bright future in front of it. I feel. Coming out of the deep bowels of communism is not easy, but they seem to be doing it under the current leadership in the country ! The hotel decor is a little bit dated, but it's clean and efficient. As in any country, do not leave valuables exposed in your room. The Hungarian people are awesome and trustworthy. Being from Vancouver Island, security and crime is not an issue, however, while travelling internationally, one has to be vigilant to boat, crime and theft in any city. I view the hotel and this city to be quite safe, but always be vigilant and don't leave valuables in the room. I would not leave valuables in the room in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, United States, nor Budapest. I was very impressed with the local area and what is happening with the country as a whole. Great future.

The hotel cannot fail the location but anything else such us rooms, bed, breakfast are less than average. The rooms' furniture is very tired and the bed is wobbly, two singles put together confirmed by the receptionist. Breakfast is very poor quality but at least you get a coffee from the coffee machine, eggs not even cooked properly. I would not rate the hotel as a 4 stars. Next time I won't stay here.
