The Teisyoku Shop

Cute little food shop selling traditional Japanese meals, just what I really needed and wanted… simple tenshoku!!! The grilled mackerel was the best I’ve had, grilled to perfection. Price is very reasonable. 100/10 will visit when I’m back in Tokyo. The two female staff were also incredibly kind and helpful. (I left my bag behind and only realised it 45m later and they stayed past closing hours for me to pick up) thank you!!

We came to the restaurant around 3pm, which is also late on a Saturday afternoon. But we still had to wait. The available terrace table was nice and not cold, but the table and chairs were designed with an emphasis on design, not a table that could hold three large trays. I was nervous that I might accidentally knock it over. I ordered the set meal of grilled mackerel. This is 1850 yen.... The taste was ordinary, nothing special.... I felt sorry for my companions because I was the one who took them there.... I will never have the chance to go there again.

Such a cute little shop in the middle of a bustling area. Nice, cozy ambience, although since it’s small, you might have to wait when there’s a line. I went at the end of a weekday and waited just a few minutes. The food itself is good, but portion was too small for me, haha.

Found this by Google, the price is on high end, probably due to the location. Hip music playing quite loudly inside, not a bother to me but if you are looking for a place to chat with friends, may need to speak up. The place was run by 3, 2 chefs and 1 waiter, byt they helped it with dishes in rotation, quite industrious, could feel their work vibe! Picked the sukiyaki don, beef i think precooked so a bit overcooked and dry, the sweet and savory sauce already soaked through so was rather lovely with tofu, onions and mung bean vermicelli and rice. Making it a set will add 2 appetizers and clam miso soup. I ordered iced black oolong tea, but not really needed, cos i can see they got hot tea for patrons. Next time if got a chance will probably try their grilled fish set. Sitting on the bar side, I could see the chef grilling using a seemingly Italian looking oven.

We were a party of 5 and came across this little shop off the main street tucked in a small lane. Even on a late Friday evening, we did not have to wait to be seated. Stepping into this shop was like entering a different world- quiet, quaint and cosy, with unique and retro decor that was a welcome breather from bustling Shibuya just a few blocks away. English menus are available via their digital ordering system, so there’s no hassle with translations and such. The food itself was fantastic. We ordered the oyster, salmon, ginger pork, pork tonkatsu and hamburg steak sets and all were fresh and delicious. Special shoutout to the hamburg steak, it was one of the best I have ever had and I will be thinking about it until I get to visit again.

Had the tonkotsu miso set while my partner had the fillet, croquette set. The taste was good but the price is slightly on the higher side and waiting time can be awhile if there's a crowd queuing.

Excellent restaurant. Modern QR code food ordering which was easy and convenient, once you google translate the website link. Food and drinks were brought out promptly and was very high quality. Service was friendly. Very comfortable seating.

Stumbled across this place on accident during a long day in Shibuya. The absolute crispiest katsu I’ve ever had. The restaurant is small but cozy and comforting.
