"Traditional Hindu and Indian Culture Explore 10,000 years of India's history, culture, architecture, and spirituality on over sixty acres of manicured grounds. Akshardham is an elaborate Swaminarayan temple complex that features an IMAX theater, musical fountains, sunken gardens, and the Mandir with over 20,000 statues of India's religious personalities. The main shrine of the temple houses the statue of Lord Swaminarayan. Be sure to experience the 12-minute boat ride that highlights over 10,000 years of India's heritage, including inventions, discoveries, and the world's first university of Takshashila. The musical fountain echoes Vedic sentiments and prayers, and the Hall of Values features an audio animatronic show. Note: Akshardham is closed on Mondays."

Very beautiful temple and devine experience. Everything is well managed, specially crowd on weekends and holidays. (Closed on every Monday ) Mobile phones are not allowed inside, should kept at the locker provided by the committee at the entrance. Paid photo Booth are available for photo shoots. Temple has very large parking area. Shows (Paid) presented inside are also very good. One the most visited place in Delhi in recent years by tourists.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) | Grand, Impressive, But Feels More Like an Attraction Than a Temple Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in Delhi is truly magnificent in scale, architecture, cleanliness, and management. The craftsmanship, carvings, exhibitions, and overall campus are world-class and something every visitor should see at least once. However, when compared to many other temples in India, the experience here feels more controlled and commercial than purely spiritual. 🔹 Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed, which is understandable for discipline and security. But inside photography is charged (around ₹80 per photo), which feels a bit contradictory. 🔹 Outside food is not allowed, and inside food options are quite expensive: Tea costs around ₹40 per cup Food items are priced higher than usual 🔹 Water laser show, exhibitions, and other attractions all have separate tickets, so the overall visit becomes expensive if you want to experience everything. 🔹 Even Prasad is paid, whereas in most temples, prasad is usually free or at a very nominal cost. 🙏 The temple is extremely well-maintained, disciplined, and beautifully organized, but compared to traditional temples, it feels more like a managed spiritual park than a simple place of worship. ✨ Overall, it is a must-visit for architecture and experience, but for those seeking a simple, peaceful, and less commercial darshan, many other temples offer a more traditional spiritual feeling.

You can't take any electronics, including mobile phones and smartwatches, so be notified. Carry extra cash for purchasing activity tickets within the temple and wear a regular watch; otherwise, you'll be walking here and there asking for the time. The water show was amazing, so definitely purchase a ticket for that. The temple itself feels grand, but honestly, it doesn't give the same vibe and goosebumps as visiting an old and ancient temple. It feels like a beautiful, grand temple complex in its own way.

The architecture of this temple is simply awesome… build In a very big campus. Well maintained too. No tickets are needed to enter. Has good parking space for 2/4 wheelers too. They have few light shows and tickets are needed for that. People spend quality time here. Food stores are also available inside. Outside food is not allowed inside. Gadgets/smart watches are also not allowed… It is busy on weekends…

Akshardham Temple is one of the most beautiful and well-organized spiritual attractions in Delhi. The magnificent architecture, detailed carvings, and calm atmosphere truly reflect India’s rich culture and heritage. The entire campus is extremely clean, peaceful, and very well managed. Metro connectivity is excellent — get down at Akshardham Metro Station on the Blue Line, and the temple complex is just a 5–7 minute walk from the station. Entry to the temple complex is completely free. Inside, there are several well-curated exhibitions that are very informative and engaging: • Cultural and value-based exhibitions with movie shows that present India’s history, spirituality, and life teachings through large-screen films and visual storytelling • Interactive exhibits and halls that are suitable for both adults and children • Musical Fountain Show ticket: ₹110 (highly recommended) • Other exhibitions and cultural attractions have separate paid tickets Mobile phones, bags, cameras, and electronic items are not allowed inside, but the cloakroom facility is available free of cost, which is very convenient. The evening musical fountain show is a must-watch and beautifully narrates Indian values using light, water, and sound. It’s best to visit in the afternoon and stay till evening to cover the exhibitions and enjoy the show without rushing. Overall, Akshardham Temple is a must-visit destination in Delhi for families, spiritual seekers, and tourists. Plan at least 3–4 hours for a complete and memorable experience.

A bit of an unusual experience, as it feels more like an entertainment and cultural complex that happens to have a Hindu temple at its centre. We spent about three hours visiting the temple and the main exhibition/experience, but could easily have stayed longer if we’d added the additional exhibition, water show, or a full meal. Temple The temple itself, completed in 2005, is stunning, with intricate stone carvings and impressive architecture. There is some historical context provided, mainly focused on key leaders of the Swaminarayan tradition since the 18th century. Entry to the temple requires removing your shoes, which are left at a valet-style shoe drop just outside (placed in a bag and exchanged for a numbered token for collection later). Exhibition & boat ride Most of our time was spent in the exhibition area. Although described as three parts, they are experienced in a fixed sequence under one ticket. Most content is in Hindi, but English sessions run roughly every 20–25 minutes. The first section lasts around 50 minutes and consists of videos and dioramas across several large rooms, with visitors moved through quite quickly toward the end of each segment. The tone is consistently positive and focuses on the early life of the Maharaj. We waited about 20 minutes for an English session. We skipped the second section due to time and energy, but it appeared to be video-based. The third section is a 12-minute boat ride after queuing, with a theme-park feel, showcasing notable figures and India’s contributions to areas such as astronomy, medicine, and religion. Despite being busy, the complex never felt overwhelming. Security I was initially apprehensive about checking my personal items, but it felt very orderly and secure. On entry there is a brief bag check, followed by a short walk to the cloakroom area where almost everything must be handed over, including phones, power banks, watches, headphones, and all bags (you essentially keep only a jacket, wallet, and water bottle). Electronics are placed in trays, a form is completed in Hindi or English noting contact details and the number of devices, and staff take a photo of the person dropping off the items. A valet-style token is issued and, along with the photo, is used to collect belongings later. After this, visitors pass through gender-separated security screening with X-ray and a quick wand or pat-down. It’s worth keeping some cash or a physical card with you to buy items inside. Costs Entry to the complex is free, but there are several paid options once inside, including the exhibition (₹370), the water show (₹110), as well as the food court and shop. Food The café area has a good selection of food, snacks, and desserts, including cakes, Indian sweets, and ice creams. The few items we tried were excellent and all under ₹100 each. The space is large, with both indoor and outdoor seating and hand-washing facilities. Toilets There are multiple toilet blocks throughout the complex, which were generally clean and efficiently managed.

Yesterday, I went swaminarayan akshardham temple. As solo traveler, found superb Arrangements of security in the temple. Electronic devices not allowed, big size bag, big size ladies bag not allowed inside if you have not small child, you can submit all the things at the clock room which is not allowed in the temple, after filling a small form. Parking is available there, no entry fees. Don't forget to take some cash with you. You can see the temple, structure of temple, stories of elephants, enjoy the food there, kids play ground, purchasing section, Exhibition and my favorite water show with a story at 7:15pm or 7:45pm. Akshardham Mandir is one of the most magnificent and spiritually enriching monuments in India. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Delhi, the temple is a perfect blend of devotion, art, culture, and architectural excellence. This is Built from pink sandstone and white marble, the structure reflects the ancient Indian architectural style and showcases extraordinary craftsmanship. Every pillar, dome, and sculpture is intricately carved and tells stories from Indian history, values, and traditions. Akshardham Mandir is not just a place of worship but also a center of learning and cultural awareness. The calm surroundings and disciplined environment make the visit truly memorable. Phn and electronic gadget and eating items are not allowed inside. is a must-visit destination for anyone who wishes to experience India’s spiritual depth, cultural richness, and architectural brilliance..
