Muzeum Fotografii w Krakowie - MuFo Rakowicka

Wonderful. My last visit, over 20 years ago was at the old location, which, I understand, now is mostly archive. A must visit if you are into Photography. Pleased to see Rafał Milach photography there as well. Well done! Thank you.

The section dedicated to daguerreotypes is a particular highlight, offering invaluable insight into the earliest days of photography. Furthermore, the historical black and white photography exhibition is a deeply compelling visual journey, perfectly capturing the aesthetics of bygone eras. Complementing these prints is an outstanding display of historical cameras, which clearly illustrates the evolution of photographic technology and design. Overall, MuFo Rakowicka is a must-visit location that brilliantly merges history, art, and technology, providing an intellectual and inspiring exploration of the photographic medium.

I really enjoyed visiting MUFO. It’s a beautiful, modern space that feels calm and welcoming, and the exhibitions were genuinely thought-provoking. They explore how photographs are used to tell stories and the different motives behind them, which makes you look at the images in a completely new way. There’s also a fascinating look at the history of photographic development techniques, showing how the medium has evolved over time. It was a really nice Sunday addition to our Krakow trip.

I was very impressed by this museum. Such an informative and interactive exhibition. It was very interesting. You should definitely visit it. It is in a beautiful neighbourhood, the building looks so elegant, there is space to chill in the garden with a drink from the coffee shop. The staff is very nice and friendly. Great museum!

I'm a photography nerd so enjoyed this a lot but it's a really interesting and beautiful museum. The two current exhibitions are thought provoking and interesting. Cafe and shop are great and staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Having been to a few photography museums, I have to admit I have been to better ones. This museum is highly concentrating on the technology of cameras but there’s are a few small photograph exhibitions as well as a gallery of camera on the top floor. I felt it could have been a bit more interactive and encouraged visitors to be playful and take photos, utilising objects to change perspectives of your photography, given the nature of the exhibition. This would get people snapping and engaging on social media. The photos I’ve included are more by happenstance than the museum “encouraging” visitors to get creative. It was nonetheless a good way to kill just over an hour during our visit to Krakow

A great building which beautifully combines old and new structure. The museum focuses on the history of photography and famous Polish photographers. It is worth booking a tour instead of going solo. The tickets are in reasonable prices. You can also visit the library and time-limited exhibitions.

Very interesting experience if you love the photography and the world around it. A lot of history and historic things about cameras, procedures and experiments result in a lovely trip in this world! The "modern" cameras part is super cool for people who also took analog pictures and used "vintage" stuffs. The only con is the (almost) absence of modern pictures/projects shows. But really lovely experience!
