The Archivist Store

Beautifully curated store with a great mix of menswear and timeless designer pieces. Everything is in excellent condition and clearly chosen with care. The only downside is that they do not offer tax refunds since the items are pre-owned. It would be nice to have a small first time shopper discount, but I understand why they do not. I am still a big fan and the staff are very friendly. My one suggestion is to offer more inclusive sizing for women, as many of the workwear pieces are mainly in XS and S while the menswear has a wider range.

Great shop, great people. Had the best experience in shopping at this store! The staff are very friendly, chill, respectful and easy going that made me feel comfortable. Great selections with not so crazy price! Bought a pair of jeans in great condition with just 180 euros!!! Must visit.

The Archivist is everything that's wrong with vintage stores right now. First off : the prices are really not realistic towards their worth. I can find the same pieces by Yamamoto, Watanabe , Margiela,... way cheaper in similiar stores ( with better selections) in Belgium. When I visited the store this past weekend I was met with very unprofessional staff. I wanted to try on 3 pieces but was told I couldn't try them on , because one of the staff members was filming himself for an online video (!). I couldn't even properly look at the store selection because of this. After I selected 3 pieces to try on I was told , very sassily, by one of the staff members that I could only try out 5 pieces at a time (?). I have no idea why this was said to me. After waiting for over 10 minutes with my 3 pieces, I decided to leave without trying anything on. I could have potentially been a paying customer but the staff deemed themselves above that. Selecting staff for a store says a lot about the insight and reputation of a self-respecting business. I know enough to never visit this store again.

I know valuation of vintage is subjective, but the pricing was egregious. There were few true designer archive pieces. Stussy, Champion, and Fruit of the Loom T-shirts for 300 euros is a joke. You can find the same selection for a fraction of the price in other shops. Don’t be blinded by the trendy vibe and decor. The irony that the most expensive vintage in Paris is bargain thrift clothes from the US. If you think you have to pay hundreds for vintage Levi, Carhartt, Dickies you are being scammed! Come to NYC, and I’ll show you : )

Had a great experience at this store visiting from Tokyo - Andre was very professional and knowledgeable about their products. Will visit again when I’m back in Paris!

I've been to this shop twice now and both times I've been really impressed. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, cool ambiance and a lot of archive pieces that you won't find anywhere else. Looking forward to visiting again next time I'm in Paris.
