33 Best Hotels in the Caribbean for 2026 Getaways | Condé Nast Traveler

"A haven for quiet luxury on Harbour Island, this hotel feels like a chic home-from-home with privacy-focused layouts—adjoining rooms act as apartments with shared living spaces and spacious sun decks—and a central shared swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers, frilly umbrellas, and lush foliage that embodies the island’s easy, regular-visitor atmosphere." - Lauren Burvill

The Best Hotels in the Bahamas | Condé Nast Traveler

"With just 11 rooms I felt an immediate sense of coming home in this stylish reincarnation of an 1800s B&B, where historical charm meets seaside chic — think vintage rattan, four-poster beds, grass-cloth wallpaper with coral pops, sea shells, and pineapple decor. Rooms are arranged around a central pool with a tiki bar that’s one of the best-stocked rum bars on the island, where I’d recommend sipping a Goombay Smash (made with aged Jamaican rum, homemade coconut rum, and apricot liqueur). Days are for toes-in-the-sand relaxation on teak chairs or zipping out on the hotel’s Scorpion rib boat to fish for bonefish on the saltwater flats; the property can also be taken over for private groups of up to 22." - Annabelle Spranklen

"On an island that’s less than two square miles with fewer than 2,000 people, new hotel openings are bound to cause a stir—as did Bahama House when it launched on Harbour Island in January, 2017. It’s the newest outpostfrom the folks at Eleven Experience, a vacation outfitter known for offering elegance after a full day of bespoke escapades. Spread across a restored colonial home built in 1800, an annex, and two authentic Bahamian cottages and enclosing a freshwater lap pool, handcrafted tiki bar, and hot tub area, Bahama House’s 11 suites have been appointed with eclectically curated furnishings, artwork, and wall coverings, eschewing island kitsch for beach-chic sumptuousness. Though the hotel leans toward softer adventures thansister properties in Colorado , Iceland , and the French Alps, the flip-flop–wearing “experience managers” are on hand to arrange snorkeling and bonefishing excursionsandpaddleboard or kayak outings.Or they'll simply provide a fully stocked Yeti cooler for a day of lounging on famous pink-sand beaches."

This Harbour Island Hideaway Merges Laidback Island Living With Old-World Bahamian Glamour - Hotels Above Par - Boutique Hotels & Travel

"A secluded, 11-key, plantation-style boutique hotel hidden behind a code-activated gate and a canopy of palms; interiors by No. 12 Interiors fuse Bahamian, Caribbean and Palm Beach pieces—grass-cloth walls, rattan furniture, pencil-post mahogany beds, local artwork and lacquered conch shells—while modern conveniences include one-touch lighting, a central sound system and rainfall showers. Cottages and suites feel private and meticulously preserved, many with semi-private verandas overlooking a secret garden courtyard. Onsite amenities include a freshwater pool, a tucked-away tiki bar serving a signature Goombay Smash, a rum library with 40+ aged selections, daily breakfast of locally sourced fruit and made-to-order omelets, afternoon après with Bahamian bites and craft cocktails, and an in-house chef who prepares private dinners and artisan picnic baskets for boat excursions. The property runs guided water- and beach-based activities—captained Scorpion RIB rides to salt flats, sea-turtle feedings, snorkeling around Spanish Wells, horseback rides along the island’s blush sand and cliff-jumping—and is staffed by warm, hands-on managers who provide local recommendations. The house is a private property open only to in-house guests and offers an intimate, chic, well-curated island escape."

I had the pleasure of staying at the Eleven Bahama house in Harbour island back in July and months later I still think about it every day. Months later, I still remember everyone we interacted with by name as each individual that works there, from management, to the bartenders, to the waiters/waitresses, and room maintenance employees, are all such incredible people that took care of every tiny detail to ensure the trip was incredible. The original trip was planned as a surprise trip to get engaged to my now Fiance. The incredible experience started before I even got to the Bahama House as I was reached out to by one of the managers, June, who arranged a video call and helped me to plan the most unforgettable proposal and ensure everything would be perfect upon arrival. Once we got to the Bahama House, we were blown away by the beauty of the resort as it is somehow even more beautiful then the pictures. The pool, the food, the location, the private beach area specifically reserved for guests, everything was just perfect. But what sets this place apart from every other place I've ever stayed are the people. Every single tiny detail, including details I didn't even know I cared about, we're just absolutely flawless. Every day when we arrived at the beautiful pink sand beach we had two beach chairs ready for us in a beautiful and private beach location for guests and afternoon when we got back from the beach, we had our fridge packed with waters and snacks, we had an chef special-made appetizer waiting for us, and the staff ready to great us. On one of the days we were there it was independance day in the Bahamas and everyone had these really cool independance day shirts and I was talking to my Fiance about how I thought they were cool and next thing you know Keith had went and got me one of the Independence day shirts as a gift. There's so many other examples like this just from our 1 week stay which is why I feel so obligated to write this review as I truly would give this 100 stars out of five if I could On the day of my engagement, June, Evelyn, and Pathenial snuck off to the private beach location, and set up a "heart" in the sand and spelled out "will you marry me" and set up champagne and took pictures and videos of our engagement to document one of the best days of our lives. It could not have been more perfect. It was so perfect, that the company I bought the ring from now has a picture from our proposal as one of their advertisements on a billboard in Denver. June, Chris, Gareth, Evelyn, Keith, Kiva, Pathaniel, thank you all for the best week we ever could have imagined, we'll remember that week forever and we hope to be back soon<3

My spouse and I stayed at Bahama House last week for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! When we arrived, the staff surprised us by upgrading our room to one of their nicest suites—it was such a thoughtful gesture and really made our trip extra special.||The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated. The amenities were great, and the atmosphere of the entire property was warm and welcoming. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable.||We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for such a special occasion. If you’re considering Bahama House, don’t hesitate—you’ll love it! We can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I had wonderful time! The location was centrally located and walking distance to most everything. Chris who worked the tiki bar on property was fantastic! Pool was awesome. Evelyn was super helpful as was all the staff. The bikes provided were great and we needed 1 adjusted as we were riding them to beach so we walked to beach and when we came up from the beach they walked the bikes down so we could ride them back.

It’s hard to imagine anything can be as warm and welcoming as a beautiful property with the amazing views and the perfect pool. But the staff goes above and beyond and it’s actually the part that shines the most. They help facilitate anything you need and they always do it with a smile on their face. I can’t imagine a better staff and a better property. We had an amazing time with our family, it was all things to the staff.

From the minute we arrived to our warm welcome from the manager June, we truly did feel at home. There were 3 groups occupying 6 of the 11 rooms for our stay, and we had such fun getting to know the other guests while enjoying this beautiful place. The hotel interiors are gorgeous, with a very homely feel. The chef was also excellent, baking fresh cakes and bread for breakfast every day, as well as our “apres” treats from 5-7 each day. This was all complimentary, and selected drinks and cocktails are included for the entirity of your stay, which we hadn’t realised when we booked, and was a great benefit! They also put light snacks in your room with the mini bar, all of which is included. Harbour Island itself is full of charm, the restaurants are fantastic and everything is within walking distance, although a lot of people opted to use golf carts around the Island. We didn’t have the best weather but it really didn’t matter. We just cannot wait to return here, it has truly stolen a piece of our hearts!!

Based on the reviews and price point, I expected to be wowed by the Bahama House. The hotel experience was ok and we loved Harbour Island, but overall the hotel did not live up to a 4-star experience. Breakfast was limited in selection and always looked picked over. The bar was great, when staffed. If not, you may have to hunt down someone for a drink and forget about any poolside service. The beach is a 7min golf cart from the hotel, which was fine except when we would arrive to subpar service (no towels, limited drinks, no umbrellas). Our room was nicely decorated but loud both from Dunmore St and other guests. All in all, Bahama House was ok and didn’t ruin the trip but it definitely wasn’t additive.

It's not often you stumble on a boutique hotel that gets everything right. Great bedding, interesting decor, very good food, cozy public areas to hang, beautiful (interesting) books stacked in inviting piles, the right toiletries, some free cocktail selections, easy keypad entry points, friendly but low key staff. We couldn't get the turntable to work but liked the selection of albums in a small self serve bar area (2nd bar is outdoors). It felt like we were crashing at a private home since we stayed a little off season and arrived between groups for a couple of the days. The house has history (1800) but is fairly impeccably maintained. Great location too between the harbour restaurants and beach so we skipped the golf cart. We only ate one of our dinners on site but it was an excellent seafood curry and a delicious rum cake. We enjoyed the beach set up of comfortable lounge chairs, towels, umbrellas, lots of cold beverages and snacks plus a friendly attendant on hand. The pink sand beach is stunning, perfect for long walks - fairly empty and peaceful. Thanks Giorgia and the rest of the staff for a terrific stay!

Spent a couple of nights here for January holidays and was absolutely fantastic. The decor is beautiful and chic, the house is intimate and team very helpful. It was a couple of years ago but can still smell the delicious fragrance our room had. Also the beach set up with drinks and chairs is great.
