We are absolutely in love with our penthouse suite and the entire staff at Casa Verde! The views are amazing, Big Kahuna bar is always rocking and they serve the best burger around! We have stayed here many other times and always enjoyed our time in Sandy Beach and the crew at Casa Verde.

Hard to write this review as none of the other reviews mentioned what I found when staying there. I think Casa Verde was trying to be a nice hotel but there were some cons. Biggest one was they own a bar next door and play music insanely loud. When I say loud, everyone in the town knows it. We did stay on a holiday (Xmas) weekend but every local we talked to said it’s the most rowdy bar in town regularly. Now don’t get me wrong, The bar itself was lovely we enjoyed hanging there but the music does not need to be that loud, we really couldn’t understand it. They could turn it down and it would still have a lovely atmosphere. You can hear it in your rooms until 2am. I brought ear plugs and I could still hear the music. My recommendation to the hotel is please turn it down a little and everyone will be happy. I’ll just say my partner and I go to music festivals multiple times a year and we shocked at the volume and how far it carried. It was a holiday and the hotel seemed empty so didn’t really see any guests or staff. They clean the rooms every day which is great. We got the top floor and had a lovely covered balcony you can sit on when it rains in the afternoon and enjoy that quiet time. The room itself was very expensive though and it was empty and doesn’t have any storage. The pro here is the location. Sandy Beach is a few minutes walk which is beautiful, not crowded. They have surf boards for rent on the beach and chairs. A handful of restaurants also in walking distance. Overall we would not stay at Casa Verde again. We would stay at other locations in sandy because they area is great though.

This is a cute place, but unfortunately, the restaurant associated with the hotel was playing very loud and obnoxious bass-heavy music. It was especially jarring after a long and tiring day when you're trying to sleep at 11 PM. I'm not sure who the music was intended for, as there were very few patrons at the bar. This was a disappointing stay especially when paying $200 a night. One positive are the owners who are exceptionally friendly.

Don’t hesitate to book a room here if you want a really special stay in a wonderful location. We loved the Tres Palmas suite with its big balconies and ocean view. You don’t need to have a car, Jacks’ Shack is a five minute walk for an awesome breakfast. You can stock up on bottled water at the surf shop across the street. Check-in and check-out could not have been smoother. We will definitely be back to Casa Verde.

To begin, the hotel office closes at 8 pm so be sure you let them know if you will be checking in after 8pm so that they can leave you instructions on how to obtain your room key. I called them and they sent me an email on how to check in after hours and everything went well. The owner was there when we arrived so he gave us a tour of the property. It has a pool and a restaurant/bar across the street from the hotel. The bar has a DJ and security guard on duty. Our stay was not terrible but there is definitely room for improvement. Our room, Lil Malibu, was spacious enough for 4 adults but the beds did not seem very sturdy. The music from the bar across the street was loud and we had to use our towels to dry up the puddles of water that would seep onto the bathroom floor after each shower. It was an inconvenience.

I love the location. Quick walk to Sandy Beach. This was our second trip and stay at Casa Verde in as many years. Travis is a really good dude. Very welcoming and helpful. My son and I stayed in the Lil’ Malibu room both times. It faces away from the little street between the hotel and the bar. The room itself is ok. The bath towels are a worn gym towel quality. We had to use a couple of pool towels to put on top of the shower threshold to keep it from flooding into the main part of the bathroom. There’s a loud thump every 90 seconds to two minutes on the outside wall of the room that faces the hotel next door. We were willing to overlook all of that. The problem is the Big Kahuna bar/restaurant. It’s over the top loud all the time, non stop. It’s an open air place that faces the main body of the hotel. It’s virtually impossible to sleep because of the noise coming from the bar. The music is so loud everyone is yelling at each other, which makes everything even louder. This is every day. From about noon until at least midnight. Not my opinion. A fact. All. The. Time. This being the case all the time should be disclosed when making a reservation. Guests need to know this. The proximity to the beach is worth good money. Getting maybe two hours of sleep each night on vacation isn’t worth a cent. We were scheduled to leave San Juan at 630 am the Sunday morning after our last night at the hotel. It was so loud from the bar/parking lot sleep was impossible. I got my kid up at midnight and we just left then. It’s not my intention to badmouth the hotel itself or the vibe of the neighborhood and beach. It’s just really obvious the intention of the hotel is the restaurant/bar. It was full of people every day and night. The music and conversational yelling were unacceptable and completely inconsiderate to hotel guests who wanted no part of it. We really like Rincon but will opt for a different spot on our next trip to PR.

I had the best time at Casa Verde. Room was Spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable, pool is small but it was low season, so I mostly used it by myself. Everyone is so nice. Really nice, family oriented place. Loved it

Amazing experience overall!! Travis and Angel were super helpful. Travis upgraded our room and helped fill air in our tire. Everyone was super helpful and the food was also very yummy. Recommend!!

Yelp
This is a nice small boutique hotel. The owner also owns the restaurant across the street, another hotel, and a surf shop. He has a lot going on. The hotel is nice. It could use some maintenance and overall TLC. We stayed in the "penthouse" suite. It was a nice room. Does it need some work, yes. Would I stay here again, absolutely. This is a great surf town. If you get the chance stay here - check it all out.

Yelp
You guys are amazing! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and for making our vacation one to remember! The location is perfectly set. It's just ONE BLOCK away from the beach and a good height from the balcony to check the SWELL. Breakfast is delicious and fresh. The best you'll find in the area. Across from the hotel is Kahuna Bar - where you'll want to be every night. The people who work here are really cool too. Rooms are clean and cool. They come with a mini fridge. There's a small convenience store across the road you can shop at (or go downtown). The shower pressure is great. They also provide pool/beach towels everyday. The bar downstairs serves AMAZING hot sauce. So authentic a 90 year old farmer makes it (I think that's what they told me or else it was my hangover). Start off your day with their Bloody Mary's and you'll be good to go. Barefoot yoga is a 5 minute walk along the beach. So you're covered from surfing to yoga to beach to food to drinking. Honestly, if you stay anywhere else in Rincon, chances are you'll be coming by here. It's where all the action is. Side note: You can also avoid the hassle of the shady property managers at other places by staying here. Please beware of scams others are running around town with. Do your research so you don't get screwed once you arrive and are asked to chalk up more cash regardless of what was agreed upon. Trust: Good food + surfing + yoga + nightlife = good times with good people! Lastly, anyone who has ever been to Rincon would agree that this hotel rightfully defines their rooms as 'suites.' Yes, in middle America they would be considered a standard room. In Rincon (or even NYC) they're called suites. Most other hotels in Rincon will charge you $50 a day for a fridge! Lol. Again, do your research.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at Case Verde! The rooms was very clean and spacious and the entire staff was extremely friendly. The spacious deck with comfy furniture was an added bonus. They had some great live music one of the weeknights (some finalist from the Voice). The only real negative was the loud music until early mornings on weekends. We asked for a room furthest away from the bar but could still hear it. Either join them or bring ear plugs (app noise maker also helps). The main restaurant was closed and it would have been nice to know that but we were in the off season so I guess that was to be expected. Either way, I would stay here again for just how friendly and helpful everyone was!

Yelp
Painted freshly mint green, this super-clean budget motel appeals mostly to younger people. It's convenient having a restaurant/bar on site, and breakfast is served there as well. Staff is super-friendly. Second floor rooms have balconies with hammocks and other quaint details. Tropical landscaping is done well. Decorating in rooms is tasteful and truly gives off that seaside feeling. The bar at night is quite a scene, but not so loud that it disrupts sleep. Larger rooms come with well-supplied kitchens. Truly beautiful for a budget motel.

Yelp
Cute little boutique hotel in the best part of Rincon. This little hotel has been recently updated. Nice staff, good location near the best beaches and surf spots. The burger bar, Kahuna, has awesome burgers and drinks. We just love this little gem of a hotel in Puerto Rico!

Merbin C.

Yelp
This location has potential. However, rooms are mis- advertised (Junior Suite is not a Junior Suite... it is just.a standard 2 beds regular room), no Wifi in the rooms, and front desk service is not adequate. I will try another spot next time.

Charles R.

Yelp
It is the worst place to find. Wait we drove around and never found it. It you want people to stay there you should have better signs. Even gps didn't work.

Yelp
Just came to the restaurant/bar & it was a perfect island place! Came back multiple times during our stay. Had a great low-key band one night, AMAZING hamburgers that went on happy hour right about 3:00. Good view, super nice bartender who makes gorgeous jewelry - must try rum punch! It was our favorite Rincon spot for food and drinks & we made our way around to several spots.

Yelp
Probably my favorite place in Rincon to get hammered. During the surf season, this is the place to go to slam some Medallas back and then stumble over to Tamboo

Yelp
I checked in to Case Verde at 5 PM on a weekday, on my last night in Puerto Rico. I was hoping to relax and decompress by the ocean. The room itself was fine - not particularly modern, but clean. (Some odd things - no phone in the room, so you had to walk over to the front desk, and there was a mop and bucket in my room. Was I supposed to clean up?) Unfortunately, the room shared a wall with the kitchen of the hotel's bar, which was incredibly loud. At 8 PM, I talked to the front desk staffer and told her this was an issue. I said I wanted to rest and get to sleep early, and asked when the bar would close. She told me midnight. I was not offered another room. It became clear by 1 AM that the bar may have stopped serving drinks around midnight, but they never asked patrons to leave. So at 1:30 AM, people were still shouting and singing, about twenty feet from my room. And there was nothing I could about it, because the front desk closed at 10 PM. There was literally no one on site who could address an issue until the next morning. I slept terribly. The next morning, I explained what had happened to the manager. I asked him if the hotel would do something to make things right. He offered me a "very good rate" on a room the next time I visited Rincon. I explained that I didn't plan to ever be back (unfortunately) and asked for a partial refund. He told me the owner would not allow management to make refunds. And that was that. If the hotel was much less expensive, I might have expected less. But at over $200 for a mid-range room, I think some basic service and customer appreciation would have been appropriate. I got neither. I gave management an opportunity to make things right, and they declined. I would not pay to stay here again, and I suggest anyone considering this hotel think twice. There are better options, with better service. (Note: I have also posted this on TripAdvisor. I think it's totally fair to share this review widely, since I told the management I would be writing it).

Yelp
Went for an early dinner after a long day at the beach. The outdoor seating is beautiful.. nice light breeze while the sun was setting. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Chili wings for an appetizer - little wings, but huge flavor! Black sesame garnish was nice. Fresh scallop and veggie risotto special was delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Steak was well seasoned and juicy, but overcooked :( the potatoes were creamy and luscious with a side of fresh haricot verts. We took the caramel bread pudding home for dessert. One of the best I've had. Real caramel, coconut flakes. Mm!

Yelp
Great hotel and the owner Billy is very helpful. The room we stayed in was nice and large. Great location in Rincon, one block from the beach.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Burgers and wraps were ten out of ten but drink menu is simple. All day everyday happy hour just means that's the regular price for there drinks everyday. Ask the bartender for a mami vice(half daiquiri, half pina colada) he said straight up NO. Then goes on how If they did have it that he wouldn't even make it. 1/10 for bartender, he had no respect or skills for just saying " we don't make these type of drinks here, sorry." Won't be going back here , right down the street restaurant called Tampoo has great food and drinks.

Yelp
Just arrived back to Isla Verde and happy to write this review... We were looking for a place in Rincon that was not your typical hotel and we found it! Casa Verde was excellent! Clean, nicely decorated, safe and spacious. The balcony was equipped with modern outdoor furniture as well as the room itself. Which was very nice if you wanted to sit outside especially in the evenings. Very modern look.. The check in process was fast and efficient. We asked to see the room first and Pedro Acosta, Manager was more than accommodating. He heard our fears and guaranteed that we would be happy.. We were!. Thanks, Pedro and your staff.. Beds were comfortable as well as the pillows which is something we have a hard time with when we travel. Sheets and towels were very clean and smelled great! We did not have to put the AC on because it was very comfortable in the room. Our room was a front corner room on the second floor. We had partial ocean view and tropical setting.. Which was lovely... Morning continental breakfast was more than adequate. They served toast, bagels, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurts, several types of pastries , juice and coffee. They maintain a great facilities... Worth a visit if you are in the area and looking for a boutique hotel...You will be pleased!

Yelp
Very clean, spacious rooms. Very comfortable. Continental breakfast was nothing to write home about. Staff attention was excellent. Walking distance to Sandy Beach

Yelp
First time to puerto rico. Was told to check casa verde out by sandy beach We went for lunch and had an great burger. Great location and a cool place to hang out. Service was very good and would recommend this place. Daily special 3-5pm get one burger the other half off. Cant go wrong

Yelp
Having been here several times over the years, I have to say I'm a little sad they took down a lot of the funky décor they had in the bar before they redid - that used to be my favorite part of the place! The burgers (I had a Kali Burger) were amazing! I was surprised as I was just expecting your average bar food but it was really good! Service is just so-so, drinks so-so - me and two of my friends got the coconut mojito and it was way too strong to be enjoyable, one of my other friends got another flavor mojito and that one was much better. And of course you can't go wrong if you just stick to Medalla! I loved the few nights here they had live music - great vibe going on!
