"The Öresunds Bridge, a Continental Connection Driving across this bridge is a push for peace in my mind – probably because I’ve always been fascinated with border cultures. Territory lines naturally create false separations of identity, whereas the human, cultural, and physical identities of two places coming together are much more of a blur. This bridge, called the Öresundsbron, connects the two major hubs of Malmö (Sweden) and Copenhagen (Denmark) and has sparked the movement to recognize a regional identity. A consortium of twelve universities from both countries has opened up all classes and libraries to all students, teachers and researchers of the region. Equally as fascinating: the ports of Copenhagen and Malmö have since merged into one company. This is the first port merger of two countries in history. Wow! Sponsored by Visit Sweden"

The Øresund Bridge is an impressive feat of engineering, seamlessly connecting Denmark and Sweden with stunning views over the strait. Whether crossing by train or car, the experience feels smooth, efficient, and scenic. The combination of bridge and tunnel is unique and adds to the sense of scale. It’s not cheap to cross by car, but the convenience and beauty make it worthwhile. A must-see landmark for travelers in the region.

Love it — Öresundsbron is a striking feat of Scandinavian engineering—a combined cable-stayed bridge and tunnel linking Copenhagen, Denmark, with Malmö, Sweden. It spans nearly 8 kilometers over the Øresund Strait before descending into the 4-kilometer Drogden Tunnel. Its sleek pylons and elegant symmetry embody Nordic minimalism and functionality. Visiting offers breathtaking sea views and a tangible sense of crossing between nations and cultures.

I took a train from Copenhagen Airport to Malmö, Sweden, and it couldn’t have been easier! The train crosses the Øresund Bridge, which connects Denmark and Sweden — the ride itself is smooth and takes only about 30 minutes. There are helpful staff at CPH Airport who guide you on how to buy tickets or use the kiosks, so it’s very traveler-friendly. I went to Malmo, Sweden mainly to visit the Apple Store for a battery replacement (since Copenhagen doesn’t have an official Apple Store, only authorized resellers). The trip was quick, convenient, and a nice little cross-border experience —Highly recommend it if you’re in Copenhagen, have a few hours to kill, and your iPhone decides it needs a little Swedish vacation for battery therapy. 🇸🇪🔋😄

Øresund bridge is a stunning feat of engineering. God attempted to keep the Danes and Swedes apart when he created the Øresund, but the unbreakable spirit of man prevailed to keep the two nations connected in a unique and inspiring way. Today the bridge carries both road and rail passengers, allowing those who own or do not own cars to make this once perilous journey in an easy and convenient fashion. I took my bike on the train to cycle in Sweden from Malmö up to Helsingborg before taking the ferry back over to the homeland of the cinnamon roll. The journey was quick, easy, and convenient. I could've easily been on the Elizabeth line or any other form of easily accessible rail in the UK or across Europe. Isambard Kindom Brunel would be proud of such a feat of engineering. I'm sure his modern contemporaries are.

The train from Copenhagen Airport to Malmö, Sweden, is incredibly convenient. It crosses the Øresund Bridge, which connects Denmark and Sweden, offering smooth, scenic views along the way in just about 30 minutes. Travelers visiting Copenhagen should carry their passports, as border checks may occur. The bridge also accommodates cars, making it an essential link between the two countries. It stands as an impressive example of modern engineering and technology, symbolizing the strong connection between Denmark and Sweden..

What a piece of human technology and engineering! It’s costly but it’s worth to see it and drive it. If you are in Copenhagen, it’s probably a good idea to visit Malmo too!

Travelling under Øresund Bridge via train was an incredible experience! The fact you can see out to sea and see as the lands of Denmark 🇩🇰 fade away and Sweden 🇸🇪 appear was a beautiful moment. When travelling from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 to England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 or England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 to France 🇫🇷, these types of crossings by train are usually underground so it was particularly special to see this!

Very neat, we crossed coming back to Copenhagen from Malmo. We even stopped to take some better pictures on the Sweden side.

Yelp
We crossed this bridge when we took a little detour from our tour of Sweden and ventured into Copenhagen. It was pretty rainy while we were there but even so it was a very pretty architectural design joining the two countries. The bridge is about 5 miles with part of the crossing being underwater. From the bridge you can get a great view of the Denmark and Swedish coasts as well as the Oresund strait. There wasn't much traffic when we were there and you can get from downtown Malmo to downtown Copenhagen in about 20-30 minutes. The real downside is that crossing by car will cost you around 45 euro each way! Now if you can leave your car on one side or the other and take a train or bus it will only cost you about 10.

Yelp
WHAT? The bridge is interesting and the views are beautiful, but I was charged about US$60 ... EACH WAY That's bonkers for a bridge crossing. I have never seen that TV show about a murder on this bridge so that aspect meant nothing to me, but I guess fans of the show geek out about that.

Yelp
Transportation AND Destination On our recent trip to Copenhagen our extended family enjoyed a daytrip to Malmo. This was made fast and convenient by the train over the Oresund Bridge. It's hard to beat travelling between two countries in under an hour downtown to downtown with service every 20 minutes. The icing on the cake was the view of Denmark, Sweden, and the Oresund strait.

Yelp
It is the fast way and the beautiful way to go between Denmark and Sweden! It is deadly pricey, but oh so smooth. SEK395 / DKK345 which is abt USD55 or €45. They accept AMEX. Tale the lane marked with a card. There are also manual stations.

Yelp
What if the border between two countries was a beautiful bridge with a stunning, breathtaking view? Well, this is exactly what happen at Öresundsbron. If you are traveling from/to Sweden and Denmark, in a train or car you will get to see this place in the best way possible. It took about 5 minutes in a train to cross the whole thing, and gladly I was recording it, so I can see it over and over again. The next station after you cross the bridge is Mälmo's central station, which is also conveniently downtown. Really worth it to take the 5h train ride from Copenhagen to Stockholm just to go over this bridge. s2

Yelp
Well, unless you're traveling for business, you might take the train since it is much cheaper to get over the bridge that way. For a car, you can expect to pay some high prices - I think roughly 30 USD each way. It's a great bridge and beautiful from many angles. Let's face it - if you're driving, there's really no other way since the ferries are ridiculously priced as well.

Yelp
On a trip last week to Copenhagen we decided to take the bridge to Sweden and spend a day in Malmo. It is surprisingly easy traveling from Copenhagen Central Station, Denmark to Malmo Central Station, Sweden. The trip takes about 35 minutes station to station and is quite an exciting trip. After leaving the airport, the train travels through a tunnel under water out onto an Island in the middle of the waterway separating Denmark and Sweden. From there you are elevated onto the large Oresund Bridge and into Sweden. The cost is expensive to drive, although the views are supposed to be incredible (i believe about 45 Eur each way), the train was probably about 10 Eur each way. The bus is priced similarly and gives you the great views too however the train gives you the speed and leaves you right in the middle of Malmo.
