RoadHouse Momo & Grill has a casual, comfortable atmosphere with unique decor. Visited initially when the restaurant opened up and remembered enjoying the dishes, especially the chilli chicken. On a recent visit, I wish the dishes could be better. The traditional momos were good!

Google
A must try Jhol momos (lil slow service hence when it came we just could not wait to click pics) and Nepali nonveg Khanaset The other items we ordered were chicken chowmein where the chicken was too chewy and hard. Taste of the chowmein was very good so the kids ended up removing the chicken from the dish. So order veg chowmein as that’s yum. Chicken sizzler - again the chicken was very chewy over fried hence unedible but the rest dish was decent. The khanaset chicken was juicy as it was a gravy based but anything fried chicken item will disappoint you. Good ambience but the service definately needs to be better.

This is one of our favorite Nepali restaurants in the area. The food is great but the service is even better. Thank you for always taking great care of us and for making us feel at home. My entire family (9 of us!) recently visited the restaurant to celebrate a birthday, and the servers were very helpful and took great care of us. We tried a variety of dishes and everything was great! So happy to have a Nepali restaurant close by!

Went there with a group. Really didn't know what to expect but the service was excellent and they walked us through the menu. Never had Nepal cuisine before but everything was delicious and cooked fresh. I would say it's a cross between Chinese and Asian. Service was great and it was nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again

Google
Amazing service. The orders take time and the food is a bit spicy. Prices are expensive compared to other nepali restaurants in the area but the quality is good.

Excellent food! We kept ordering dishes and each on was delicious. We started with the sautéed mushrooms, well spiced but not too spicy or salty (recommended). Then veggie momo and the timure chicken, wonderfully seasoned, but the spice builds so you may want to get it with rice (and a glass of water). We finished with Jeri Swari. All are recommended really and you can see the photos with this post.

If you have a chance to come here please please try Pork Belly and Makhmali Chicken and ask them to cook more spicy! Super good i swear .

Google
Excellent food and service! We went there for Valentines Day and had a wonderful time. It was our first time trying Nepalese food, and we loved it. Especially the momos were absolutely delicious, we will be back for those. Also the staff were very accommodating with us since we had our baby in stroller with us. If you are looking for a place with good food, ambiance and service, then definitely check out this family and baby friendly restaurant.

Yelp
Good food, good tea, and great people. The first time I came here was when they opened and I'm glad to still see them around.

Yelp
So I don't typically go do Momo spots often but when I do I expect perfection. Glad to this place was very good! The decor and well well done, it was warm and inviting which is what I want from any restaurant. The service was also very good. He was very attentive and his recommendations were also well done. But the thing that matters the most is food. We ended up getting veggie momos, a peanut salad, papard, paneer curry, veggie chowein and Mango Lassi. I really enjoyed everything except for the paneer curry I am not sure because it's Nepalese style but it wasn't great. The lassi was different as it was more on the yogurt side but I like that kind of lassi but I might be in minority in that lol. Overall great place and I hope to be back if I am in the area.

Yelp
An amazing first time experience trying Nepalese cuisine here at Roadhouse Momo and Grill! Been seeing lots of folks recommend this place, and I literally live like 5 mins away, so of course we had to check the place out! Would also always see and pass by the restaurant, but never thought to go inside. BUT LET ME TELL YOU! The spices, the seasoning, and the meat were cooked to perfection - we were shook! The restaurant itself is very beautiful inside too! I was obsessed with their Sekuwa, and I loved the Makhali Chicken sauce (would just take the Naan and dip it in!). Highly recommend of visiting if in the area~

Yelp
A friend and I decided to check this place out after seeing a Tiktok! When you walk, the restaurant is decorated quite nicely and feels kinda fancy. Our server was friendly and gave us some great recommendations. Pork Momo: (5/5) This was absolutely delicious!!! I would get this again. The momo is like a dumpling and the inside was quite juicy. The skin also had a nice bite to it. Makhmali Chicken: (4/5) The server said this was kinda like butter chicken and it did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and the curry was thick and creamy. Definitely would come back if I visited the area again.

Yelp
Amazing flavors and aromas. Good service. Reasonable prices for the quality and portion sizes. There's lots of like about the Roadhouse Momo & Grill. Loved the pork momo. Savory pork dumplings with a mixture of Nepalese spices wrapped in a nice pasta. The dipping sauce was also very tasty and similar to a curry. Also recommend checking out the chicken bara: a savory Nepali pancake made from ground black lentils, topped with spiced minced chicken. A real good mix of flavors and textures. Wine list is short but solid. Full bar and cocktail options available. Online orders and reservations can be made via the website https://www.rhmomo.com/store/

Yelp
Random place we found after a work trip. We wanted something different and this place sounded good. I got the sizzler and it was a ton of food with delicious seasoning. I wasn't expecting French fries but it worked, I would have preferred more veggies and chicken.

Yelp
This is my very first experience with Nepalese food, and it won't be my last! I had no idea what a momo was, and it is a delicious dumpling. I shared that with my husband and he got the goat curry! His curry was so tender and the broth very delicious. Note we got the hot sauce for the dumplings and it was HOT! It will light up your taste buds, without a doubt. I loved it! Sorry for not having other food photos, but we were hungry, intrigued and anxious to try everything. You won't be disappointed! The beauty of NoVA is the ability to try far away foods and experience it first hand! We liked several things on the menu and will return to try more!

Yelp
4.5 stars! Very solid place for Nepalese food! Looks a bit extravagant with the decor and huge Buddha statues. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The manager checked on us multiple times and even offered us a very spicy chili sauce. She really warned us and said to eat very little. She did not lie... SO SPICY... but unfortunately, spicy was all I could taste, no flavor at all. I asked a server about the Nepali Famous Soda Drink like what it was and taste like. It was not a very clear answer, but I got it anyway and immediately regretted it. It was straight up carbonated salt water. I've had salted SWEET sodas and enjoyed them. My friend ordered Sprite so we could mix the two to make it a little better. We started off with Chicken Wings marinated in traditional Nepali spices. It came with lime which made it absolutely perfect to complement the flavors on the wings! We also had steamed Chicken and Buff Momos that came with Jhol on the side as sauce. All very juicy and flavorful! I loved the Chicken Chowmein!!!! So much flavor and deliciousness! I got to try some of my friend's Makhmali Chicken (similar to Butter Chicken), and it did not disappoint!! Creamy and delicious. I did not love their Roti since it was more hard and dense than flaky. I also loved my friend's Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower). Would order this and the makhmali chicken again.

Yelp
You must stop by and try Roadhouse momos if you are anywhere nearby. The made from scratch food and service are some of the best I have ever had. This a wonderful family restaurant. It always speaks well of a place when you walk and see the owner spent time on the details and ambience of the restaurant. My family and I started with the Mono Sampler. The Sampler includes Beef (buf), chicken, pork, and veggie. They are similar dumplings but were well flawed and came with a wonderful orange. Sorry don't have a picture of it, we ate it too quickly. If you are thinking of something to try, select the veggie or beef. All where amazing but the veggie and beef were standouts For dinner my family tried 4 Very different Dishes. Chili Fish(Spicy), Shrimp Fried Rice, Chili Chicken (Mild), and Timure Chicken. Each was perfectly cooked, well paired, and full of flavor. My only caution is make sure to ask the spice level before you order. They have multiple options, some of the items are very spicy. Each dish was spectacular and had its own merits. The timure chicken has schewaun pepper so be careful, but the sauce it comes with is a great balance. All in all try as much as you can. Everything is well done. The cocktails are great. They make they own drink mix of fresh lime juice, fresh ginger, and sugar. They mix it in several drinks, but it is something special you can't get anywhere else. This nepalese restaurant was so good I wish I lived closer and it is a must try for anyone who happens to be in the area.

Yelp
Thought the food was good! Felt like it could have a little bit more spice (not just the spicy kind, but different spices overall). The staff was very sweet and attentive , and the decor was also pretty nice. We arrived sharply at opening time during the weekend and it wasn't too packed. It was nice to see Newari (an ethnic group in Nepal) cuisine on the menu since most of Nepali restaurants in the DMV don't have Newari cuisine. I liked the paneer chilly the best.

Yelp
Ambience : Lovely interiors with spacious seating. One of the best interiors in the area. They have cute embossing of their restaurant name on literally everything you touch. Waiters are very quick on feet and patient. We got some very nice suggestions from them Food: My review is based on 3 visits to this place. I must say they are consistent with their dishes. Chicken chowmein is our absolute favorite. I must say it's best to stick with spicy. We asked for very spicy once and could barely eat. Chowmein has a very authentic taste! Chatamari is the second best in our list. Very unique and quite filling. We had both fried momos and steamed momos both with chicken, nothing to complain here. They were delicious. The chicken burger is not too bad but I don't think I will try that again. Chilli chicken was a little sweet for my liking. We also tried their dessert Jeri swari, I felt the flat bread was too oily. I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. Definitely impressed by this place. Parking: there is always ample parking in the common parking lot.

Yelp
I've seen this place on Yelp come up a lot so we finally decided to grab it for a Friday Night dinner. I'm not too versed in Nepalese food since I've only started eating it in the past few years. I did talk to some family that's had it and got some recommendations from them. We ordered the Chicken Sekuwa, Buff Momo, Chatpate Chicken, and the Goat Curry. I accidentally forgot to set my pickup date and time but I was able to call and they set me straight. Whoever helped me was super polite. Order took about 20 minutes and I was picking up a little more than an hour before they closed. It's located in Ashburn Village Center. Wasn't really busy around there at all at 9PM and the inside only had a few parties there. The inside was nice, not too big. The person who gave me my order was super nice and I think it was the person from the phone. The food traveled well. I wasn't sure about which of the accompaniments went with which dish until later. Off the top, the Buff Momo and the Chicken Sekuwa were our favorites but everything was good! The Momo were a good size and the buffalo meat was so flavorful without being too salty. The chutney that came with had a nice little kick. The Chicken Sekuwa was juicy and also very flavorful. The sauce went well and was more cooling (if that makes sense) than the other foods. The Chicken Chatpate was probably the most flavorful and spicy. Probably one of the spiciest things I've had in a while (I try not to eat spicy stuff too often). The Goat Curry was good flavor wise but I was getting mostly bones. Rice was cooked perfectly though. Overall a pretty nice experience. I'd probably want to eat in next time so I can have everything asap. Definitely worth a look if you haven't had Nepalese food.

Yelp
We went on Valentine's Day. We had a reservation. They sat us late. Then we ordered asked to change tables (due to cold mist) and we went to a different table. Then one waiter came after 45 mins and told us that our orders were given to someone else. Very poor service!

Yelp
I am so happy to have this warm, inviting restaurant in my neighborhood. Offering an upscale yet friendly and accessible feel, Roadhouse Momo & Grill gives surbanites a chance to sample lesser-known Nepalese dishes that one would imagine finding in major cities like NYC and Toronto. They have thukpa, a noodle soup of Himalayan origin, and variations of a rice crepe called called chatānmari. This dish was stunning! I loved the complexity of its flavors and the beautiful texture of the crepe. Gobbled it up with joy. The staff were so helpful and sweet throughout our visit (I even told them so.). Couldn't ask for more in terms of customer service. Can't wait to return and try more dishes. I will definitely try their noodle soup and one of the enticing items on their cocktail menu.
google avatar

Bob M.

Yelp
I'll say it loudly - best service around. They are very concerned about the spices and allergies. He also guided us well. Food is good, genuine and elevated. We sampled a number of dishes all were very unique. Why did I not give them a 5? It's a 4.5. One reason was the momos - good but there is a gas station in Dulles better and the chilly buff was tough - tasty but real tough.

Yelp
Finally got around to visiting this place, kicking myself for not coming here sooner. It's beautiful, really nicely decorated. The owners could not be more wonderful and helpful, explaining everything on the menu. Being a first timer to Nepalese food, I appreciated it. I had the khana set which is made up of several small dishes of vegetables, and I choose chicken. All served with rice. My wife had chowmein which was incredible, very different firm what you get at a Chinese restaurant. Wait ! Save room for jeri swari, a fantastic dessert, kinda like funnel cake meets taco. Will be back soon.

Arun J.

Yelp
Overall we felt like food was above average. We liked Aago (Nepali restaurant) better. However, what we loved is the ambiance and customer service. There is a 18% service charge which is okay as the service is exceptional. They deserve more than 18% tip for sure.
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
The customer service here was outstanding. I went here with a couple friends, and we all liked the food. I can't remember what they got, but I ordered buffalo momos which came with a sauce, a burger, and some drink with tajin. I asked them to make the drink non-alcoholic, and they went out of their way to make it really good for me. The waiters and owner (I presume?) kept coming by to make sure we were being tended to, enjoyed our meal, and made our drinks right. I loved the attentiveness. I also liked their decor and food. The fries could've had more salt, though. Still, we each enjoyed the food and drinks and would definitely go back. They gave us some favors as we left which was really sweet of them. They were wooden can openers that had their restaurant name on it. They just opened; check them out!

Yelp
Step out side the box and try something new. This place is delicious and the service was great.

Yelp
New Nepalese place, the interiors look lovely. Tried take-out, Veggie Momos were perfectly cooked, a strong hint of ginger. Chicken Thukpa was perfect for a rainy evening. Staff was friendly, will try dining in soon. Can't wait to try more dishes.

Yelp
I love love love this place- the first time I went there I thanked my stars & fortune because it brought me great homestyle food in a foreign country. The place is very rustic & is tastefully designed. The decor, theme and music make the experience very high quality. Over multiple occasions I have had the following momos: chicken fried, chicken jhol, himalayan chilly, chicken tandoori, veg fried, veg cheese and veg jhol. Additionally, I have also tried the Himalayan style noodles (veggie, egg, chicken) as well as the Himalayan style fried rice (egg). And not to forget- the lychee lassi!! From the above, I only don't recommend the fried rice because it tends to be fairly dry and needs some wet element with it like a gravy or so. The server- Soorya is great- very kind natured & polite. Always has a smile on his face and always wishes us well. Highly recommended 12/10 place!!!!!!

Yelp
First time visit. Wow! My boyfriend is less than adventurous, but we were looking for something local that we haven't tried before. As long-time Ashburn residents, we've tried nearly every restaurant over the years, and Roadhouse ranks right up there with us now. We tried a couple sampler platters, and absolutely loved everything (even picky boyfriend, who would normally order a burger at a place like this!). The momo sampler was super fun - the pork was our favorite with the buff a close second. Everything was homemade, including the dumpling wrappers. Then the Chilli Chicken, Fried Rice and Buff Sukuti came out. OMG! The chicken was cooked to perfection, and that sauce!!! With the rice!!! The chef came out and checked on us with each dish. If you haven't tried this place, you absolutely must! Oh, and the boyfriend said he loved everything and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Food was great. The flavor and spices were amazing. Service was fantastic. Decor was very nice

Yelp
We are not strangers to momo's or nepali food and this place is the best we have tried. We were a group of 4 and we ordered the bara bara, chili chicken, chicken sekuwa, goat chops, lo mein as well as two orders of buff momos and one veggie momo. Everything was delicious, but the best dish of the night were the buff momos. Extremely flavorful and satisfying, we could easily eat them everyday. The veggie momos were surprisingly good too, but it is hard to surpass the buff. The only thing that was not absolutely incredible was the chicken sekuwa. It was good, but lacking in overall flavor. That being said, the spice on the goat chops was incredible, the chili chicken was scrumptious, the bara bara was a fantastic surprise as no one had tried it before and it was beyond tasty, and the lo mein was far better than any I have had elsewhere. I cannot say enough good things about the food here and would absolutely go back.

AJ S.

Yelp
Okay so here's my honest review, if I could give them a 0 I would. Food was 1/5, I give them a 1 only because the appetizer was okay. We got some wings and aloo. Main dishes were absolutely horrible, every dish was bland and the fried rice was so salty. Service was absolutely terrible, we were the only people in the restaurant and never got asked once how the food was or if we needed anything. I truly understand why the place was dead empty. The only reason we didn't just get up and walk was because we had some fantastic company. Just find a better place or go to a fast food joint
google avatar

Olya R.

Yelp
Service was welcoming. Decor was nice. But I did not care for the food at all. My vegetarian curry felt like the ingredients were thrown together the last minute. Very overpriced for the quality of food.
google avatar

Yelp
If you are like me and never had Nepali food go try Roadhouse Momo. Authentic and delicious food. Pristine clean and beautiful ambiance. Food I'm vegetarian tried Veggie Momo and Bara both were The family loves to try different food Bhuttan, Chowmain, and Karang all were spot on. Drinks A long list of traditional contemporary cocktails to beer/wine. Service Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.

Yelp
This is a gem in the suburbs and I will be sure to bring friends next time I'm in town. It's the best food I've had in Ashburn so far I had the chili chicken sampler with chow mein and pork belly. It was a little more than I could eat, but should be fine for American portions. The chili chicken was the best I've ever had, with just the right spice level. The breading was light and not too heavy, as can easily happen with this dish. The solid beer and wine selection was a nice companion to the food. The staff were super friendly and attentive and helped me navigate the menu, including my allergies. The atmosphere was calming, and the nose level low making for a great place to have dinner conversation. Bring your friends and family!

Brian F.

Yelp
Authentic wonderful food and great staff! Highly recommend!! an open but still cozy feel, great place to enjoy a fabulous meal!

Joe G.

Yelp
First time I ever had this type of cuisine. It will definitely not be the last. This restaurant sets the bar high. Food and service was excellent. In the famous words from some guy named Arnold. I WILL BE BACK. If you don't get that you were probably born after the 1990s.
google avatar

Rick K.

Yelp
I have to give this place 5/5 as the service was excellent and Singh was exceptional with service and bar drinks. The cook gets lot of credit as the food is exceptional, awesome and delicious. I asked for super spicy and it came just the way I wanted my food. Great place and good the 20% gratuities are included with check. This helps them provide exceptional services.

Ryan D.

Yelp
Amazingly kind and prompt service and the food was delicious! A must try in the area.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Ordered take out and WOW was I impressed. I ordered the chicken chow mein and the chicken momo (steamed). Perfectly steamed and the flavor of both the dumplings and the sauce were superb. The chicken chow mein was equally delicious. Just the right amount of spice, chock full of fresh ingredients. The service was very fast, unbelievably friendly, and very accomodating. The ambiance inside was wonderfully classy and chic. I'm kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. Can't wait to come back!!
google avatar

Jason F.

Yelp
We have been here twice so far and have really enjoyed every item we've tried. The first time it was four of us and we did a tasting of at least a dozen things. I'd recommend coming with a group and doing the same. It was a good mix of flavors and spice levels, and for indecisive people like me it made it easy to pick from the mix of different meals.

Durga K.

Yelp
The best spot for authentic Nepalese cuisine. The flavor and masala's are just mouth watering. Loved Momo and nepali dishes. Must stop place for food lovers. Deep Kunwar

Vijay N.

Yelp
Food was ok. Vegetarian monos didn't impress and the Rotis were really hard. But they had some interesting salads native to Nepalese cuisine.

Chitanya C.

Yelp
First the positives, ambience very good and service is great too. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. Negatives: where do I start? the food is cold, the Momos are dry as hell and totally bland. We ordered kulfi for desert and I don't think I can call it kulfi at all (bland, dry and hard) Over all it is an average experience but when you see the bill, the experience becomes below par! Very overpriced for the quality provided.
google avatar

Lynne C.

Yelp
If you have not tried it yet, go to Roadhouse Momo & Grill. The food, wine list, service, decor, and atmosphere are amazing. They also do door dash but the in person experience should not be missed. We tried Momos (dumplings), chicken chili, chow mein, and bura. The food is spicy but can be adjusted. There isn't a lot of rice, but this is not Chinese food. It's a accompaniment. Portions are substantial.
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
I've never had Nepali food and went here with my sister who recently went to Nepal. We loved the food! Their vegetarian momo is great. I'm not a fan of dumplings in general, but I loved their version. Customer service is great and the bar manager (I'm assuming) was very helpful and welcoming. I had a ton of questions and he was very patient. Also love their Nepali milk tea!

Sue A.

Yelp
The food was great - tasted homecooked, good quantities, great options for vegetarians, and kind, friendly service.
google avatar

Zenie N.

Yelp
Such a great place. Their Buff Momo is amazing and their cocktails are very cool. We've returned several times and the food has always been delicious and consistent. The wait staff is so friendly and accommodating, always going out of their way to explain the dishes and flavors. I can't say enough about this place - love it.
google avatar

Yelp
What a wonderful surprise. Fresh, clean, bursting with flavor, quality ingredients. Wonderful! Customized cocktails, great service. Could not have been more pleased. Cannot wait to return.

John G.

Yelp
Most delicious meal we have had in a long time. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was amazing. Helped us make selection to a cuisine we were not familiar with. The chili buff momo were incredible with the right amount of heat. The chow mein was off the charts and the curry tasted like it has been melding flavors all day. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yaz R.

Yelp
Really great spot and beautiful inside! Service was attentive. I hope they get more business as it was pretty quiet. Loved the food here! Sooo fresh and delicious. The chicken momo were huge and super tasty as an appetizer. They give you a lot!! I also loved the veggie chowmein. It was a great serving size and not oily or greasy at all. Also tried the platter and my faves from that were the chicken curry and the lentils were delicious! Not too spicy at all. I would come back for sure.

Ashley T.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are on a mission to try out Northern Virginia magazine 50 best restaurants. The service and food was 10/10! We had the Momo sampler - Amazing Bara Chicken - unbelievable Then topped it off with kurauni and Jeri swari for dessert. THE BEST COMBO. Seriously. I'll be dreaming about this dessert for days to come. On top of it all our server detailed all the spices and cooking process that went into each dish. Amazing experience!
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
Food as always was amazing! The service is always very attentive. They are always willing to go over the menu and explain all the dishes in detail! The layout of the restaurant is great lots of great wood work, comfortable chairs and great seating for groups. The staff kept the water glasses full and always checked on us. They did a great job bussing the table as we finished our plates. This is a real gem in Ashburn!

Lisa D.

Yelp
This was our first time trying Nepali food, and we loved it! The staff guided us with amazing recommendations - and we ended up ordering steamed Buff Momo (not pictured, but similar to dumplings), Nepali Sizzling Chicken and Chicken Chatamari. All of the food was so flavorful, the spices were on point, and the restaurant had a great vibe. Will be back!
google avatar

Cassy W.

Yelp
Came here on a date night, and had a pretty good time! We ordered the aloo chop, the bara with chicken, and the pork momos. The momos were by far our favorite, however everything just felt like it was missing a little something and none of the sauces were something that we enjoyed.

Yelp
Nice enviornment and delicious food. It's kind of like Indian food with Asian influence. There were som einteresting sauces and flavor combinations I had not tried before. They have water Buffalo meat which I had never tried. I enjoyed eating here and would like to go back to try some of the other menu items
