Masses Bagels

All bagel enjoyers need to try this place at least once. Such delicious combinations in a beautiful space, served by the most lovely kitchen staff. Water or sparkling water available by tap 10/10 and take away containers are conveniently placed next to it for those wanting to take leftovers home. A small detail that makes a big difference! You can customise your order by picking your preferred bagel type- off the top of my head the available were: cinnamon and sugar, everything bagel, salt, sesame & habanero and rye & malt. We tried the salt & beef and pickled green tomato bagels. So good. My personal favourite was the pickled green tomato (I rate 8.4/10) and my partner’s was the salt & beef (he rates 8.6/10) though he says they’re both close contenders. For to drink, at the time of ordering the matcha soda flavour available was mango cilantro which works well together. A nice and light approach to matcha but not a must try 7.5/10. We came at 1:30pm but were fortunately able to find two free tables despite it being in the thick of lunchtime. Happy we stopped here on our short trip

I visited at 11am on Saturday and it was pumping! Awesome staff and service; they were so friendly and things were moving quickly. At the same time, I didn't feel like I was being hurried when ordering. From lining up to receiving my order it took about 20 minutes. To take away, I ordered the banksia honey (my favourite), pickled green tomato (my 2nd fave), egg gribiche (nice, but wouldn't order again) and also tried the sourdough cookie (yum!!)

It was our first visit to Masses Bagels and it turned out to be such a good choice for lunch. We had the pickled green tomato on a sea salt bagel with ham, and the hot smoked trout on an everything bagel. We also tried the matcha soda, which was light and refreshing. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Service was just as terrific! No regrets at all, and we’d happily come back.

A great morning start at Masses Bagels! Jack and Carmen are such pleasant owners, and the space is full of light and freshly baked bagels. There’s a spread for every taste — from savoury to sweet — and the Market Lane coffee is a big plus. I had a sesame bagel with butter and Comté cheese: chewy inside with a thin, crisp, beautifully blistered crust. Such a great spot — thank you!

Came here for a very late lunch with two others and we shared three bagels as pictured. All were very tasty, I especially liked the smoked trout bagel. They also sell other baked items like cookies but I will try these next time!

I walked past this place and also came across it while scrolling on Google Maps, so I ended up inviting my friend to try it with me. The menu here is mostly meat-free, which is funny because we’re both big meat lovers lol. Personally, I’ve had bagels elsewhere that were juicier, which I prefer. Honestly, I’m not even sure whether bagels are supposed to be dry or soft, but I definitely like them on the juicier side. That said, the pickle green tomato flavor I ordered was surprisingly good and really refreshing. I’d actually recommend that one!

Personally my favourite bagel place in Melbourne, The flavours and options are complex but still have great basics, the bagel itself is crispy and fluffy with slight tang from the sourdough. Our favourites were the green tomato and the trout. We were skeptical on how good a green tomato on a bagel could taste but it was an explosion of flavour - must try! The trout was minced, fresh and easy to eat. Love this place, 10/10

Visited twice during my trip to Melbourne. Best bagel I had ever had so far that I would definitely visit again if I go to Melbourne😉Unique topping is a plus point to me and everything taste so fresh 🤩 I absolutely love the chewy texture of bagel with slightly crispy outer crumb. This is a real bagel 🥯 Make sure you don’t miss out their coffee too because it was so good and I promise it pairs well with their bagel! Some more it’s in a cute cup😙
