The 20 Best Things to Do in Bogotá, Colombia (Updated 2025)

"I joined Bogota Bike Tours for a daily bike tour and enjoyed covering a lot of ground in a leisurely way: the tour visits local fruit markets, a traditional coffee roastery, the bullfighting stadium, the historic center, and many plazas, parks, and neighborhoods over about four hours." - Matthew Kepnes

We did the bike tour through Bogotá and absolutely loved it. Riding through the streets gave us a great impression of the city. We stopped at a coffee place and at a fruit market, where we could try many different things. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the bikes worked perfectly. Overall, a fantastic experience – highly recommended and suitable for everyone.

Had an amazing first introduction to Colombia and Bogotá with this tour. Would 100% recommend this tour to everybody who’s visiting. The tour is accessible for all ages. It not only covers the history of Colombia/Bogotá but goes very deep in the artistic roots of the city. Furthermore, they take you to a local coffee roastery and explain how the country is structured geographically. We had David as guide and Miguel as mechanic. David is an artist who is well known about the history of Colombia and Bogotá. He is not afraid to give his own opinion on events which makes the tour very authentic. Miguel is aiding the group in navigating the (sometimes) busy streets and helps you in case of any bike troubles. Both of them made a great team and made the group feel safe and entertained. Thanks!!

On the bike, what a great way to see Bogotá. Mike was our guide for the cycle trip this afternoon. He spent the last 20 years in Colombia and with a background as a journalist, he is a incredible well of information and background stories on the history of the city. The tour covered much of the city, the architecture, the history behind the murals and a bit about the violent past. Especially enjoyable was the fruit and vegetable market. We must have tasted over 25 different types of fruits, amazing. The break at the coffee roaster and Mike’s stories about the layout of Colombia and recent events were a real eye opener. Just so much to enjoy. Our tour lasted well over 4 hours and I am sure we saw all the best parts of the city. Mike, you made us true beliebers 👊. Many thanks!

Our guides Mike and Luisca were amazing! The tour was great, we got to learn a lot about Bogota and Colombia as a whole. My favourite part was the food market, were we got to taste a ton of fruits! This tour is definitely worth it! The only thing I would say is I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it if you’re not super comfortable on a bike as we were zooming around crowds, cars and buses the whole time. Overall, a great experience!

Absolutely wicked experience in bogota! the guide was full of information and fascinating facts about the area. My advice is to do this on a sunday as that's cycles day in bogota and really enhances the ride, as you can ride in more places.

Exploring Bogota by bike was a ton of fun. Eduardo, a true biking aficionado, took us through different neighborhoods and explained many interesting facts about the different districts and Bogota itself in an excellent English. We stopped at a market and tried out so many tropical fruits that we have never tasted before despite spending quite some time in South America. A true discovery! We had some spare time and also opted for a morning ride to the Guadalupe viewpoint and the countryside behind the city. It proved to be a fantastic ride and workout and if you are athletic (expect 1,200 meters of positive elevation on a regular mountain bike) then it's really worth the ride! Bikes were in top shape and of good quality. Highly recommended!

We had a brilliant time on this bike tour and would absolutely recommend it. One of the real highlights was stopping at the fruit market. We got to try loads of different fruits and vegetables we’d never seen before — including learning that there are around 100 different varieties of avocado. Tasting so many unfamiliar flavours and having them explained properly made the experience feel really special and genuinely local. We also visited a café where we got to see coffee being roasted on site and even had the chance to buy some straight out of the roaster. Seeing the process up close and tasting coffee that fresh was a great touch and something you wouldn’t normally get to do as a visitor. The pace was relaxed, the guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and it felt like a great way to see the city while actually understanding what you’re looking at rather than just passing through. A fantastic experience from start to finish — easily one of the most memorable things we did.
