A well deserved name. Emerald color water against an imposing backdrop of snowcapped mountains. You have to do a bit of boulder scrambling to find the right perch, but once you're settled in, it's quite magnificent to sit and take it all in.

This was truly an amazing hike. It was a great place to rest and eat a light lunch. The hike from Bear lake all the way to Emerald Lake was truly remarkable. Truly one of the best hikes in the US.

Rarely go on hikes but this one was worth it, I’d recommend this hike in a heart beat just do be mindful of the limited parking!

In Rocky Mountain National Park, starting at Bear Lake, the less than two-mile trail ascends gradually past Nymph and Dream Lakes to Emerald Lake. Rewarding views along the way. Vista at Emerald Lake is spectacular no matter what time of year.

Absolutely breathtaking spot. Well worth the hike out and back. I recommend getting there early and packing a lunch. Once you get all the way up there you're gonna wanna hang out for a while. The views were incredible second to none. The hike was great too. Not rough at all. Kinda long. The scenic views just get better and better so enjoy it.

Pictures of views on the way to emerald lake as well. It’s about a 3.6 mile out and back trail of moderate difficulty. Took us about 3.5 hours with lots of photo sessions. There’s an elevation gain so at times you may be out of breath but definitely doable.

This is an absolutely beautiful hike!! I went the first week of April and wore snowshoes. I wound definitely recommend microspikes at the very least. There were quite a few people struggling without spikes. It’s not worth an injury when you can pick up a pair of cheap spikes for $30 on Amazon.

Emerald lake is gorgeous. The hike there is amazing passing several beautiful lakes including dream lake. I also love the little waterfall right outside the lake.
