Common in Roppongi has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. My husband and I stopped in for a mid-afternoon break and ended up staying much longer than planned because the space feels relaxed, warm and surprisingly spacious for this area. There is a good mix of seating where you can either open a laptop or just sit and talk, and even when it is busy it never feels chaotic or rushed. We ordered a hot matcha latte and their house herbal tea infused with honey, and both were genuinely delicious. The matcha latte was smooth and comforting without being too sweet, and the herbal tea had a soft, soothing aroma with the honey giving it a gentle natural sweetness. The drinks are definitely on the pricier side, but the quality is there in the flavors and the way everything is prepared, so it felt worth it for a sit-down experience rather than a quick grab-and-go. The food menu leans more toward café-restaurant than simple snacks, with sandwiches, toasts and light plates that work well for lunch or a long work session. I like starting with something small and shareable and then moving on to a hearty sandwich or toast, and there are usually desserts or cakes at the counter that pair perfectly with one more drink. Location-wise it is very convenient, only a short walk from Roppongi Station, which makes it an easy meet-up spot before or after other plans in Minato. Overall, Common feels like a thoughtfully designed café where you pay a little more but get calm ambience, good drinks and food, and a place you actually want to linger in.
