Kilkenny Design

When I'm in Dublin, I inevitably head to Kilkenny Design Centre. It's definitely touristy, a tourist attraction, but it has a good selection of authentic Irish products from Beleek china to Waterford crystal to woolen items from Donegal and elsewhere. It's a nice place to buy a few gifts to bring home from a trip, a one-stop shopping destination. And prices are not particularly bad, and service is good.

Beautiful shop and lovely restaurant (though a little overpriced). The shop staff were very pleasant and helpful. We ordered a few items for our home, and the team suggested they could be delivered to the UK. If I had known what I know now, I would never have agreed to have them posted. It’s been 1.5 months, and the items were only recently sent via An Post, with minimal (to no) communication from their team - most of which we had to chase ourselves. Customer service has been very poor and unreliable. I strongly advise against having your purchases posted; you may never receive them. I’m gutted, as some were meant to be Christmas gifts for our family. Kilkenny Design, you cannot charge premium prices for your products without providing premium service. Two stars for the pleasant staff and beautiful products.

This is just in relation to the cafe upstairs, shop below is lovely. Not much value for a 5 item Irish breakfast, given that it’s self service and doesn’t include coffee/tea. By the time we had gotten the food and made our own machine coffee and waited at the till.. the food was no longer warm. Staff pleasant

Kilkenny was my place to go when in Dublin for work but not anymore. I used to be delighted with their quality and variety. Everything fresh and top notch but not anymore. I had a scone which was a dry stone with what looked like jelly marmalade, my husband a cake which was dry too. It's just not fresh and the ingredients are poor. I had a chowder which at this point I confirm being the worst I ever had. It's more a tinned soup you by at Tesco's. My husband had the meat with the mash potatoes and veggies. Dreadful. The meat was tasteless and vegetables soggy. Prices have gone up too which would not be a problem if they kept quality. Sad that everything comes to an end. Buy Kilkenny, see you never again

It is always a pleasure to shop at Kilkenny Design. The ladies at the reception were nice and helped us with the discounts. We went there to buy pearl bangles and we bought a beanie as well because the ladies at the reception told us about the discounts.

Restaurant very loud. Toilets smelly and not clean. Won't eat here again. I usually go to the Kilkenny City Establishment and it is so much nicer! Didn't recognise it at all here in Dublin.

The food hear is so tasty!! Had the full breakfast and I was pleased. Also so the lunch paid out so nicely. The service is fast and the environment is perfect, the staff were very friendly. Highly recommended. You must try thier Guinness cake, it was delicious!

Very poor customer service. Told me item I ordered was no longer in stock/now sold out (and week after I placed order). I then asked to cancel order entirely if that was case as it had not yet been dispatched, which they would not do. Order arrived almost 2 weeks after it was placed in the end (despite 5-7 day advertised when purchased). Didn't even arrive on time for me to use for Christmas gifts as initially planned and customer service most unhelpful at request to return parcel. Extremely disappointing customer service - would not recommend
