"Hidden down a sidestreet in the Vasastan district, café Gast has been serving decadent kanelbullar (cinnamon rolls) since 2017. With a seasonal menu offering rich brunch platters, fluffy pancakes and coffee, it has established itself as a local favourite for daily fika coffee breaks. The interior is adorned with classic Scandinavian furniture that the owners acquired at auctions, to help the café’s visitors to relax in style."

Gast Cafe is a spacious coffee - quite full during lunch break. For a start, their menu boasts both sweet (pastry and pancakes) and savoury options, which is great. I went originally for the Cesar salad but they didn’t have it anymore on the menu, so I opted for scramble eggs on Parmesan bread with avocado and bacon. Parmesan bread was very original, and the chilli oil on top made the whole favours more interesting. The bacon was sadly very hard - barely able to cut it. Food was good, and the portion was filling. Sadly, the coffee was disappointing. A flat white, which should have 2 shots of espresso, didn’t taste as intense as I’d expected. Sadly to me it felt a bit like a watered latte, which made me regret not having tried a simple espresso. I knew this place was not for speciality coffee, but somehow, due to its popularity, I thought it was more resembling a stronger aroma. Still, this is a good place to chat with a friend (and even work with your laptop, but mind their timetable!).

Really cozy place and a nice presentation of the eggs benedict with avocado that I ordered. However, there was barely any flavor apart from the chili, the bun was bland, and the eggs were inedible - watery liquid ran out as soon as I cut into them🫣

I’m a big fan of specialty coffee, and unfortunately, this café didn’t quite meet my expectations in that regard. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk (56kr), which tasted more like warm milk than coffee and took a bit longer than expected to arrive. I didn’t try any of the food, so I can’t comment on that aspect. The service felt somewhat impersonal — the young staff seemed busy and focused on delivering orders, but there wasn’t much interaction or warmth. The space itself was crowded and quite noisy, which may appeal to those who enjoy a lively atmosphere, but it wasn’t really for me. Overall, it’s probably a better spot for people looking for a bustling café environment rather than a specialty coffee experience.

Nice place, good food, very busy on the weekends, a bit hard to find a table. Service could be a bit more welcoming :) Still came here a couple of times, as all was good and tasty. Coconut brownies - to die for!

Worth the walk! We walked from the ship terminal to Gast and i'm glad we did. They had really nice friendly staff, easy to use English, cozy inside, great accomodating for allergies and could swap in and out ingredients. I enjoyed my matcha and eggs benedict and got inspired to poach eggs in the future. What could be better would be bigger gluten free toast or to double that portion, also the toilet seat was a little dirty and no hand soap.

Sooooo good! Went there 3 days in a row. Lunch and brunch were both amazing. Crispy chicken bowl is spicy, so you know. Avocado toast was crazy good. Matcha was the best I had in a while. Prices are normal for Stockholm. Greetings from Slovenia. 🤎

Google
Super popular brunch spot with a great vibe and lots of customers. Even though there was a long line, we didn’t have to wait for a table because there’s plenty of seating. The food was really tasty, drinks came out fast, and the lady at the counter was very kind, making it overall a great experience!

Yelp
Fabulous cardamom buns and sandwiches, a perfect grab and go to kick off a day of touring. Looks like a great place to grab a sandwich from their large menu! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Delicious! My friends and I came here for our last breakfast in Stockholm and I wish we came sooner because I want to try their offerings. The place is really cute inside, very "grammable" photos. We stepped inside on a cold morning around 10am on a Wednesday. It was moderately busy but we found a window seat near the door. I ordered the scrambled eggs on toast and a cappuccino along with a cinnimon bun. My friends ordered the avo toast with an egg, which is actually a small portion compared to my dish. The service was fairly quick and pleasant. This atmosphere is great if you're looking to get some work done or enjoy a Fika with some friends. Highly recommend! Enjoy!

Yelp
Probably my absolute favorite cafe in Stockholm, and I've been to a lot of them. Gast is incredibly spacious, with multiple areas with different vibes, good for catching up with friends, enjoying a fika, and doing work. Wifi is good, access to outlets are good, and since the place is so spacious it never really gets too loud. The area with the skylight is my favorite, really lets in the little light that Stockholm has haha. Coffee with free refills, and the food is absolutely amazing. A lot of really fresh, healthy options. The salmon bowl is my absolute favorite -- really generous portions of salmon and avocado, and quite filling. Prices are on the higher side, but entirely worth it.

Yelp
Cozy cafe with all the standard coffee options and Swedish baked goods, plus a lovely matcha latte, Asian fusion salads, and more fun stuff. Simple but elegant. A good value but not cheap.

Yelp
Very nice hipster interior and feeling. Good regular fika menu. Nice polite workers, good service.
