Gast Cafe is a spacious coffee - quite full during lunch break. For a start, their menu boasts both sweet (pastry and pancakes) and savoury options, which is great. I went originally for the Cesar salad but they didn’t have it anymore on the menu, so I opted for scramble eggs on Parmesan bread with avocado and bacon.
Parmesan bread was very original, and the chilli oil on top made the whole favours more interesting. The bacon was sadly very hard - barely able to cut it.
Food was good, and the portion was filling.
Sadly, the coffee was disappointing. A flat white, which should have 2 shots of espresso, didn’t taste as intense as I’d expected. Sadly to me it felt a bit like a watered latte, which made me regret not having tried a simple espresso.
I knew this place was not for speciality coffee, but somehow, due to its popularity, I thought it was more resembling a stronger aroma. Still, this is a good place to chat with a friend (and even work with your laptop, but mind their timetable!).
