"Celebrate Freedom on the Impossibly Blue Waters When you think of reasons to party in the former British West Indies, few are better than Emancipation Day. And few ways of marking the occasion are better than getting out onto the iridescent waters of the Exumas and watching a classic boat race like the Black Point Regatta. Running from Staniel Cay to nearby Black Point, this race has been gathering local sailors and their traditional sloops together for the past 42 years every Emancipation Weekend. (Why just have a day when you can have a whole weekend, right?)"

Convenient to get to and from by boat or plane. The main yacht club has a great bar and atmosphere! The island has close accessibility to Big Major with the swimming pigs, Fowl Cay with a nice restaurant, the Grotto, and hundreds of pristine beaches ensuring you will find your own perfect slice of heaven.

Staniel Cay is a mecca for sailors and tourists alike. The Staniel Cay Yacht club is a must when you visit! A fuel dock and three small groceries make it a good reprovisioning stop.

Staniel Cay has the Yacht Club where we met many others enjoying the beautiful area. There is a restaurant and bar with music and a pool table. Gas, ice and a small gift shop plus groceries near by.

Stopped in for provisions. Cute little dinghy harbor. Walked to the laundromat/liquor store for beer and wine (not a great selection and very expensive). Continued on foot to the "blue" store. The delivery ship had just been there so lots of fresh produce and other essentials. Again, pricey but at least there was choice!

This place is beautiful! Bring your own food though. Don't expect to find milk or cheese. Eggs and bread, yes. But you need to reserve your bread the day before at the pink store. Go to Lindsey's boutique. She's such a sweet lady and prices are good and pretty much the only place to buy souvenirs other than the yacht club.

Goes without saying that this place is heaven on earth. The pictures really don't do it justice. Beauty everywhere you look, above and below the water. Put this on your bucket list and GO!!!!! You won't regret it, and you will return again and again, I promise you!
