Very interactive,hands-on museum. We can spend all day here! The museum has areas dedicated to specific topics, such as space, human body, dinosaurs (tiny section), airplanes, architecture, etc. There’s also live animals (snakes, spiders) and an aquarium that has many species (alligators, turtles, sharks, puffer fish,etc). On our last visit, they had high school students doing internships and they were so helpful! They were all so excited to share information about the animals we were looking at. Loved to see this initiative! As an adult, I actually learned a lot during my visit! The playground inside the museum is included in your entry. You can add a 3D movie from the IMAX theater (additional cost) and shop their store. Some educational movies are included in your entry. Tip: bring snacks and water if you want to save some $ (I paid $5 for each water bottle). Step into their balcony to take in the waterfront views.

My kids absolutely loved this place! We showed up at 11 am and left at 2 pm. I really loved seeing the amenities for mothers (nursing room) My oldest really enjoyed the splash pad. He was soaked! My youngest favorite room was the room for little children and the ambulance! She liked dressing up as the doctor and cooking in the kitchen. When we visit Fl again, we will be back!

My first time visiting this museum with my 2 year old son. There is so many activities to do and they can learn as well. We truly enjoy coming here all the way from Cutler Bay. It was a far drive, but so worth it. We spend over 2-3 hrs enjoying the facility. Its so fun for kids all ages. Recommend to families 100% of the time.

It was awesome sauce. I loved the hurricane wind thingie me and my friend felt like the main character xd. Loved the shop and food too the popcorn was super tasty and not dry. Even the little kids section was fun and the slides were epic! 5 stars 👻👻👻

I went to see the Dino exhibit with my son. Good stuff. If you’re local and you think your kid will like it a lot, I suggest getting one of the memberships. It’s $44 for 1 kid 1 adult without membership. And for what it is, that’s a bit expensive. But it’s still a great day for any kids 10 or under.

Absolutely awesome place to be! 😍 The giant clock at the entrance ⏰ sets the mood for an adventure right from the start. Perfect for curious minds of all ages — truly a playground for adventurous homo sapiens 🧬🦖. The IMAX theatre 🎬 is spectacular and makes every show an unforgettable experience. The exhibits are mind-blowing 🤯, super fun 🎉, and incredibly educational 📚. Every corner sparks wonder ✨ and excitement 😄. Highly recommended! 🌟🛸

So many broken exhibits. See the pics. For $50 for an adult and child. Would of been nice if things worked. Kid was disappointed when he went to try something and it was broken. Over 10 exhibits were broken

I had the opportunity to take my sons here over the summer multiple times while using the south Florida adventure pass. Every time we went, it was a different experience. My boys love the Discovery Spot play area. Just make sure you reserve your spot when you check in at the front desk. They do fill up fast on the weekends. This area allows for their curiosity to take over with so many learning opportunities of cause and effect. We also love entering the Magna-tiles room found on the second floor. There is a space limit so sometimes you have to wait to enter. Again, usually only on the weekends. Our last visit had the Paw Patrol exhibit. All the little kids present were having a blast! I’m sure it was a little kids paradise. If you get the chance to do an IMAX documentary film, try it out. Our kids actually made it through the entire showing of Wild Rescue! My kids never say no to a day at MODS!

The Museum of Discovery and Science isn't just a building with exhibits -- it's a rite of passage if you grew up anywhere near Fort Lauderdale. For me, it started as a kid, jaw practically unhinged the first time I sat in that IMAX theater. Back then, it was one of the first true giant screens in the area, a massive portal that made you feel like you were falling headfirst into space, or diving nose-to-nose with a shark the size of a school bus. And then years later -- full circle -- I found myself here again, older, louder, standing in line to see U2. Yes, U2, live in that same temple of light and sound where I first saw documentaries about dinosaurs and the deep sea. It was surreal -- Bono in IMAX scale, except it wasn't a film reel, it was the real thing. That's Fort Lauderdale for you: sometimes the city surprises you in the best possible ways. Over the decades, the museum itself has grown and adapted. Kids race to the giant kinetic energy machine like it's a roller coaster. Families still cluster around the exhibits where the alligators lurk lazily in the tanks, giving that perfect South Florida wink of "yes, nature wants to eat you, but isn't it fascinating?" And the IMAX -- still king. Every time I walk in, it feels like stepping into my own personal time machine. Fort Lauderdale is a strange cocktail of beach traffic, neon bars, and spring breakers, but tucked right downtown is this reminder that the city also knows how to inspire wonder. The Museum of Discovery and Science is one of those anchors that's been here long enough to see the skyline shift around it, and it's still holding its ground. Bring your kids, bring your friends, or bring your sense of nostalgia. It's still amazing to behold -- bigger than life, smarter than your average tourist attraction, and proof that sometimes science and art collide in ways that make you feel like a kid again.

Had a blast with our family! Family was in town and the boys are around two years old and what a blast they had! So much to do for them and so much for them To see especially the exhibits upstairs. The great questions of "what's that?" Were numerous but the boys were just absorbed with everything. The interactive displays held their somewhat short attention spans for a good length of time. Nothing beats the sound of children laughing and to hear them laughing and playing was nothing short of wonderful. I did find the prices for admission to be pretty expensive and also parking was a little confusing. My SIL ended up parking at an open parking area and almost got a ticket for the length of time. I think parking should be clearly or better marked. I'd definitely go back and def recommend it for the little tots (2-4). We did not watch the 3D movie that was included. During the summer months the place gets very busy wi the the summer camp day trips so either be prepared or return in the off season. Also if you can check on possible reciprocity from other museums To help with your admission fees maybe helpful for those with many people in their party. Have fun! Educate the Kids as they are our future!

I have come here so many times throughout countless number of years... My oldest likes an area on the top floor with wooden pieces to build things and he had been wanting to visit so we came by today. My kids are now older and I'll probably never come here again but I do recommend it for parents with smaller kids (toddlers and a bit above), as it's geared towards that age group. My suggestion to the museum is to maybe do a few upgrades as the establishment is looking a bit worn out. Perhaps add a few different attractions, as not much has changed.

A really nice kids museum in Fort Lauderdale! I went with my three year old daughter and spent a good two hours there. Perfect for that age. I like that there is convenient parking garage next to it. They have aquarium with fish and outdoor park and also Paw Patrol new play set. Very nic and clean, friendly and helpful personal. Will definately be a spot to go with a toddler .Florida residents discount is a nice bonus.

Magnatile natzis 1000%. If you let kids play with kid toys then kids will play with them by placing them on the floor.... Why is this a rule?! It's ridiculous and annoying. And if kids build things and it's been up for hours or overnight and toddlers come and knock it down why are the employees so angry?!?? Young employee with paw patrol shirt who was training a new employee was soooo upset as if this was her personal creation..... It's a kids museum. If you don't like kids find another job!

MODS is a classic! I used to come here for field trips all the time when I was a kid, and just recently visited as an adult for the annual hurricane prep education day. First, the event is so needed here, perfectly timed right before hurricane season, and both entertaining and informative. I've been in Florida for most of my life so I know a decent amount about hurricanes, and I still went home with some great resources. My husband and I had so much fun walking around the interactive exhibits about the human body, dinosaurs, weather, and more, and learned a lot of really interesting fun facts! They also have animal exhibits, including my absolute favorite: otters! They also have an imax movie theater, which shows both educational films and movies that you'd see at the theater. The gift shop prices are very reasonable compared to what you'd expect at a gift shop, and you can usually find deals on admission. If you're looking for something fun to do with your family, definitely check out MODS!

I appreciate them looking after my fellow veterans and all. But the place seemed quite dated and in some disrepair. I really hope they revitalize the place because it's showing some early signs of heading the way of the Miami Seaquarium. My grandson enjoyed himself and so did the special needs children that were there. We can't let this place fall apart. Check them out and show them some support.

Perfect for the sub 10 year old crew. The little ball display with suction provided a good 20 minutes of entertainment alone. The IMAX isn't one of those fake ones so you get the full 70mm massive screen experience. Our friend's kids in their teens were a little bored after a couple hours but our younger ones kept going for the full term.

This has Everything. Great community engagement and opportunities to learn. My daughter went to the kid area that has water engineering spots and such. I go three to four times a year

PROS: Absolutely fabulous exhibit for kids! Some really awesome hands on features and great activities for young minds. The citrus ball area is the COOLEST My 3 & 5 year old could have spent the whole day there. There were lots of animals which is awesome (otters, sloths, reptiles, etc). They also have the IMAX with different stuff showing throughout the day. CONS: The cafeteria definitely leaves something to be desired. A number of the computer style interactive exhibits weren't working - almost every one we ran into - but I can't say that list happened because of the large number of middle school aged kids. We went during June and there were a number of school groups which was a bit of mayhem (pressing the emergency stop button while we were going down the escalator was the final straw for me).

The museum of discovery and science is one of those places I've gone to for years and very surprised I've never reviewed. Whenever I've gone the staff is usually friendly and my recent trip they were all friendly but some of them seemed as if they couldn't be bothered to be there, making it a little bit of a downer for a little. The pricing is a little bit on the higher side if you're older because, while there are many fun exhibits, a lot of it is geared towards children. I do love the touchtank and other hands on exhibits here because that's my favorite thing about this museum. The IMAX theater is wonderful and you can see a showing of one of the videos they play with admission. The quality is amazing and being able to witness shows/movies on this screen is my favorite thing to do when I visit here! The gift shop is cute but filled with a bunch of items that you can easily find elsewhere for cheaper. This museum is one of my favorites in the area and it is very very easy to spend an entire day here if you want to look at absolutely every little exhibit here! They have many different exhibits that are there all the time and a few exhibits that change every few months!

This is a large museum in downtown Fort Lauderdale. There is a 3D IMAX theater in there as well. When you walk into the lobby, there is a large gravity clock. If you have a Bank of America card, you're eligible for a discount. If you have a baby carriage, you can park it in the designated spot up front, under the stairs. We went into the toddler section to the left. There's a big play area with water and toys. When you leave the toddler section, you can bring your baby carriage with you. There is a cafe that sells snacks onsite. Throughout the museum, there are animal exhibits such as otters, stingrays, snakes. I've been there twice but I've never seen the otters out, maybe because it's just too hot. Also, the insect exhibit was closed one time; the other time I went, it was sparse and there were no insects in their cages. In the ocean life area, I do think it's awesome you can pet the stingrays. We love the dinosaur exhibit and the baby room. Another notable structure was the huge shark. The hurricane area is pretty decent; it showcases what the damages of different categories of hurricanes can do to a structure. They have a huge playground outside but it's just too hot to enjoy it. Parking can be found in the paid garage nearby. Everytime we go, this place is packed on the weekends but on the weekdays, it's not too bad. Overall, it's a decent science museum; not the best I've seen but not the worst.

I recently attended an event here for the Wine, Spirit and Culinary Celebration and can't wait to return for their Scooby Doo exhibit which seems intriguing. It was nostalgic to say the least.

We had such a good time at the science center. We probably spent 5 hours here and the kids were still not ready to leave. The had so many activities to keep them interested. Another cool thing they had was a 3D theater. We watched the T-Rex movie and it was some of the best 3D I have seen.

I'd like to start by saying we've visited numerous science centers from Florida to Arizona, and this one has been the kids' favorite so far! It offers a variety of engaging activities, including IMAX movies, animal exhibits, an interactive dome, educational activities, and well-themed areas. The center is also thoughtfully designed and very clean. When we're back in town, we'll definitely return and highly recommend it to others!

Excellent local museum that has all different kinds of exhibits. It's great for all ages.

Very interesting little place. Seemed very old fashioned like the exhibits were definitely aged. Lots of broken equipment. Sadly, animals confined to tiny spaces as usual. I went on both of the rides in the space section upstairs, they were ok I guess. Not as exciting as the Frost museum in Miami which I still have to see, as that one has a planetarium and this one doesn't. The garden outside was a little weird and the entire backyard outside was a little unorganized. Some of the exhibits brought back childhood memories, but there will never be the same experience as the museum experiences I had growing up in Miami. I didn't get to see the IMAX theater this time around so I'll definitely be back, one hot feature I won't find in Miami museums, though.

This spot is great for locals with kids. As many have said in the comments, it's probably not the greatest discovery and science museum, but also not the worst, especially considering it's in a "small" city. We have been going there since our daughter is 6 months old and she is now 16 months. It's very appropriate for her age, and there are still a lot of things for her to explore and learn from as she grows. We love going to circle time, which happens twice a week in the morning. It's generally not crowded, and the person leading that--Sebastian--is great and always trying hard to entertain the kids. The museum is quite big, and there is a lot to do. As many have mentioned, there are indeed many outdated or old activities that should be replaced. But there are also brand new rooms and great facilities. The discovery room is very well designed, and kids love it. There is also an animal section with plenty of animals to see. If someone from the museum reads this message, please do something for the bunnies. They are bored to death, and it's heartbreaking. The otter(s) attraction is definitely nice. There used to be two of them, but now there is only one, for some reason. They also have an outdoor area. Unfortunately, many attractions are damaged because of being used too much, and the elements, rain, and sun are rough in Florida. But it's still a nice place to hang out. We have a year pass, and it's well worth the money, especially during the hot summer months. It can get crazy on weekends but quite empty during weekdays. It's free on some weekends, but I would avoid these days. Overall, we love this place, and we are very grateful to have it in Fort Lauderdale. If you have kids that are not too old (maybe under 7, just a guess?) it's worth a stop.

MODS is INCREDIBLE. This museum has something for everyone - tons of indoor AND outdoor delights and most importantly, the absolute best experience for the under 7 crowd in their Discovery Spot. It's like a giant indoor playground with a large climbing structure and tons of science-oriented play stations throughout to engage littles in gross and fine motor skills. We have used the heck out of our membership and it has been the BEST - adults can sit and rest while the kids go nuts with so much to do. They also time the play sessions and sanitize between sessions - YASSSS. There is a nursing room and quiet spot as well as soft stuff and reading nook for the super littles. The Magna Tiles Studio is always a hit too for the littles, bigs, and super bigs. The IMAX experiences are always fun too. Looking for animals? Blow kisses to the otters and go wave to the gators, turtles, and other critters! MODS truly has it all and their traveling exhibits are always interesting. Can't wait for the holographic theatre to open up this summer! Insider tip - quiet restful space also on the second floor outdoor deck with picnic tables and front row seats to the awesome kinetic sculpture.

Half of the exhibits didn't work and they need to be sanitized around the clock. The tanks where the fish and turtles were need to be cleaned.

Don't pay full price to come here. We had free tickets luckily or I would have been really mad paying. I could tell this probably was a really cool place back in the day, but everything is broke. Some of it was down right dangerous. They really need to check stuff, there is an injury waiting to happen. We went to use the paper plane launcher, and it totally fell back off the base, from being previously broken. My husband caught it, but if it was a small child their finger or hand would have been smashed. No animals in exhibits, except for a few. Kept waiting for the otters they never came out. The bathrooms were very clean which was nice. Overall this place needs an update and repairs. And people need to watch their kids to prevent them from breaking things. I saw numerous parents letting their kids go buck wild, while they sat on their phones.

Awful experience. I can't name a single thing in the museum that was not broken. Every button and activity was completely useless. When I went, there were hundreds of kids, all in summer camp groups. I understand the museum can't control how the kids act, but they can control how many groups go in at once. Having what looked like 40 groups of kids in there is completely chaotic. I couldn't hear myself think. It was sticky, it was loud, and it was not fun.

I was in Fort Lauderdale on a business trip and had an afternoon on my own. I decided to visit the Museum of Discovery and Science. There is plenty of paid parking nearby. The gift shop was very nice and the IMAX was well kept and very clean. The cafeteria left a lot to be desired if you want something other than a soda bottle. The microwaved chicken sandwich was utterly forgettable. The Museum was very nice. It was clearly focused on children, although I enjoyed a lot of the exhibits as an older adult visiting by myself. I particularly enjoyed the booth that simulated the wind speeds up to hurricane force wind speeds. The otters were very cute. I did not enjoy the snake exhibit, but that is a personal preference. All in all, well worth the time to take the family for an afternoon, especially during the week when it is less crowded.

I've been here two times within the last year and both experiences were very different. the first time I went alone with my boyfriend on a casual date and to be honest, it was not very fun. We did have a good time, but there really isn't much to do this year with the child which is completely understandable. Just wasn't our cup of tea! Now the second time I came here was with my two nieces and nephews, and we had so much fun and such a blast. There were so many activities to do. And we even went home with a giant squishmallow! I would definitely recommend coming here with someone under the age of eight

I love the museum of discovery and science, especially when needed to entertain a toddler. Last year they opened up a section, Discovery Spot, specifically for toddlers, and it is so cool. Definitely a great spot to go, especially when it's too hot outside but you need to get the kiddo's energy out. The Discovery Spot is very clean, which is impressive for a toddler play area. They also have a family bathroom with child-size potties which is so cute- great planning! They have nursing areas and quiet areas, too. I highly recommend the annual pass for local families. You're able to put two adults and four children on your account, and if you go just a couple times it pays for itself.

this is a really good science museum. i wish we had something like this back in seattle. our science museum near redmond is more just like a lot of toys in rooms, but this science music has so much interactive learning along with the rooms of toys. there's always something interesting to look at, and the employees were all so nice

Had a fun filled Saturday at the museum. It's super big inside and has two floors of fun filled activities. They also have an outdoor area as well. I went on 5/4 so they had a theme which was May the 4th be with you for Star Wars Day. They had tables all around the museum with people doing cool science tricks. They were giving out coloring books & fun items for the kids to take home.Also because it was the first Saturday of the month, If you are a Bank Of America cardholder you get one free admission into the museum. Which was perfect. There is a parking fee to park your car. Overall the museum was very fun and my family and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I got the membership so I can bring my toddler her throughout the week and it's totally worth it. We love the toddler room upstairs. Great place for kids of all ages.

We've been here so many times over the years that I've lost count. When they first opened we brought his kids then later his grandkids. We have also attended charity events here in the evening. And when I worked for AutoNation (one of their sponsors), we used to host an employee visit to see the latest IMAX movies. But frankly, it's been a number of years since we've been here. So when AARP had a free tour offering, we had to take advantage of a return visit knowing they've done a bit of updating. They separated our large group into smaller groups . We got to explore the upstairs floor -- the section about the body, the section about aircraft and space, and a quick look at the temporary exhibit on dinosaurs. We even participated in a paper airplane building -- and throwing -- contest. After the exhibits, we headed downstairs to get our 3-D glasses and see an iMax movie: To The Arctic. Stunning views, animal closeups, and a peak at all the changes that have occurred there. There's a little something here for everyone -- including the first floor about animals and the environment. Kids especially like that this is a hands on museum with lots of touch and feel and participation things to try (and learn about) which makes science and learning much more fun. I'm glad we came.

I haven't been here since I was a kid. I ended up coming with my family because my mom had won tickets from work. This is definitely a good place to bring your kids so they can learn more and get a visual on certain things. We got to enjoy a 45 min documentary in 3d which i thought was great. And I'm normally not a 3d person.

We brought our two boys here yesterday and all of us had a wonderful time! I didn't expect to have as much fun as them as an adult but was pleasantly surprised. We spent almost four hours here and still weren't ready to go by the time we did because there was so much to explore! We didn't even make the show we booked because the boys were so involved in there other activities. The magnatile room was A1! We spent the most time there. We'll definitely be back for part two. Tip: if you're a BOA card holder, go the first weekend of the month for a discount. We missed it this time around but it was well worth paying full price.

We loved going with our grandchildren. Today we went with our great grandchild. The price was higher and a lot of the exhibits didn't work. We were disappointed. I am unable to walk up and down stairs and the escalator wasn't working. The elevator was fine but I had to walk further to get there. Not worth the trip until they fix what's broken. So sad. This place was a lot of fun a several years ago.

Absolutely great place! The toddler area is fantastic. You do have to get a reservation. Museum pass holder can go into the museum 1 hour before opening. So this lets you into the toddler area without a massive amount of kids. The otters were active and the whole place is clean and staff are friendly. We were there for almost three hours with a three year old and a one year old and we never made it to the second floor. That's how much fun the kids were having.

I seriously don't know how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. It's amazing! First it's huge - it's like a natural history museum, aquarium, amphibian zoo, technology center, outdoor experiment/play area, and children's museum in one! And they have a fantastic little kid area for kids under 6 that's absolutely wonderful. Not to mention all the extra rooms where you can build stuff, a room with a play kitchen, a magnatile building room! I could go on because this place is awesome. Perfect for my energetic 3 year old. I can't count the amount of times he excitedly yelled "mama look!!!" We spent about 3.5 hours there and that actually wasn't enough time to see everything! Very well done.

Great experience for little ones (and also for adults). There are sections for smaller kids and some for older, so anyone will find something interesting to see or do. My 3 y/o loved the planes, building blocks and smaller kid area. I loved the building blocks myself, too! I think this place is not something to come and visit every few weeks. I think 1-2 x per year is totally fine.

I came here to see Oppenheimer because everyone claimed that the imax experience was so good and they were right. From the visuals to the sound, I had to give the experience 5 stars. It's an intimate theatre but heads up, everyone wants the middle seats for best visuals. It is worth it to get the early entry ticket (sold separately) if that's an option for you. They do have a fully operational concession stand and the popcorn was fresh during our showing. Parking is fairly easy to find as there is street parking and a garage across the street. I would def go back for another film.

it's been over a year since me and my grandson, age 7-1/2 have been there .A lot of new things but so many of the technical things are broken. At his age group he was very interested in the health section . The cyber knife wasn't working right and the da Vinci robot didn't work only 1 controller worked. something that you pedaled only 1 pedal a working. the car with the driving under th3 influence didn't work. Again at the Broward Health screen, you couldn't hear what the CT scan was, the cyber knife and a few other things . th3 voice was too soft and with all the noise around it my grandson kept saying "what did they say? and asking me a lot of questions! there a a lot more things that didn't work and what a shame! you charge a lot of money and you should check DAILY that everything works!! We were both very disappointed. You end to check everything and fix things that are broken and make sure things can be heard.

This review is coming from a couple with no children: don't bother stopping by. We love museums! Especially interactive ones. This however was not designed for anyone over the age of 7. I think the biggest disappointment comes from the South Florida Adventure Pass... we got the pass thinking this was going to be an awesome stop during our trip but sadly it was not. We would have skipped the pass and only went to Flamingo Gardens and Butterfly World (but to make the pass worth the money you have to go to at least 3 out of the 4 places). I wish someone told us before we bought the pass that the museum was for children (very young children). Many of the "exhibitions" were either out of order, or very outdated.

What an awesome museum! I had previously been here over 4 years ago and I had forgotten this place existed. I came back with my oldest as a chaperone for his school field trip and we had so much fun. There was so much to do and see that we didn't have enough time to check everything before we had to head out. They have everything for little ones and maybe up to 10-12 years old if they are interested in science. They have a cafe outside and a gift shop. I will definitely be back with both of my boys next time.

While the museum has great potential and probably was awesome when everything was working, it is much too expensive for so many broken exhibits. Without completely counting, I would estimate 20-30% of the exhibits are inoperative. It honestly seemed like every third exhibit we tried to learn from was broken. When it cost over $100 to bring a family of four to the museum, you would expect more functioning exhibits. I hope the museum management reads this and fixes all the broken exhibits.

I've been to MODS before being a parent and after, and I have to admit as a parent it's much more enjoyable. In full transparency I should have seen a movie or two at their IMAX theater, but hindsight is always 20/20. We recently became museum members because our son loves the aquarium parts, and their STEM room on the second floor is perfect for babies and toddlers. Plus, they have pretty fun events for kids, such as their New Year's Eve celebration (countdown to noon, because...kids), and it was a fun time. Although we will be moving out of Florida next month, the great thing is our museum pass can be used at other museums across the country which we'll be taking advantage of.

Unlimited fun for kids, we enjoyed all the different areas here although their was some areas closed like the everglades exhibit and upstairs traveling exibit. The airplanes upstairs are immersive and have screens in them to practice "flying". The mars rover ride was interesting however I do not recommend for small children since it is loud, dark and "scary". We spent most of our time in the discovery center on the first floor and outside in the science park which I think are the best exibits there. There is also an otter exibit and it's adorable the kids definitely enjoyed seeing it. Parking is across the street for $3 an hour and the park across also offers a free water taxi

Half the exhibits were not working. Even though it is large and has many things to do, potentially, it was just too crowded with not enough functioning exhibits for kids. Wouldn't go here again.

Great for kids and solo travelers! I went here as part of my layover in Fort Lauderdale. I saw lots of kids but there are also activities and fun for adults. The exhibits are fun and interactive. As a former teacher, I would take my class on a field trip here. They have animals, exhibits in all kinds of nature- biology, space exploration, prehistoric Al, health/anatomy, and more. I would return if I had more time.

Cute museum with a couple of fun things to do. I wish they added a bit more to it or renovated the inside a bit more. There's a huge open space in this museum on the main floor with a few interactive games around to play.

This place was so much fun! We uber-ed over after disembarking from our Disney Cruise. I mention this because if you too are coming from a cruise before heading to the airport- they have a large room and will hold your luggage for you! The museum also has ASTC reciprocity so check if you have a children's museum membership elsewhere. This place was large and had lots of fun areas. There was a toddler area (Discovery Spot) where our kids loved pretending to work in an orange orchard. There's an area housing reptiles and amphibians. Outside there's lots of large, interactive displays to demonstrate principles in physics. Upstairs there's a couple immersive rides with changing programs every hour. And my favorite part of the museum was the imax movie theater! We watched the Serengeti museum and we were mesmerized getting to see so many animals in 3D! We ordered lunch off site and ate outside on some of their benches. What a great spot!!

My daughter and I love this museum. It has so many different things for kids to do and see. We are currently planning her birthday party there and am super excited to bring all her friends to hang out at the museum. One of her favorite things to do is watch a iMax documentary. Now that we have become members we will be coming more frequently.

My son is at the discovery age so for his 3rd birthday a friend of our gifted a family trip to the Museum of Discovery and Science. Pulling up to the building presented a real "WOW" kind of situation- not only for a 3 year old but for all of us. The front entry was so inviting- you have your cafe, gift shop, seating and of course that super cool ball concoction that my son could stare at for hours and not get bored... LOL. Making our way through the crowd we were welcomed and greeted with a smile by staff multiple times. It was nice because it was our first time there- and one of the staff members Elspeth actually stopped and gave us almost like our own private little inside scoop pre-tour full of informative tips to make our experience efficient and fulfilling. She was very nice and she made best friends with my 3 year old. He was very wow'd by all of her knowledge and actually wanted her to stick with us for the adventure LOL... but obviously we didn't book a private tour or anything so she had to work hahaha. But I thought that was super cool because even with how busy it was, all of the staff were present, helpful and touched in with the guests as they made their way through the place. There were so many cool things to see and to do... my son LOVED making slime! Also, the corner area upstairs to play with tiles to design things was ultra fun as well. He's imaginative so he really enjoyed that! My sister, who is an adult, was like a kid at Disney! She enjoyed all of the little gadgets and games and planes and everything just the same. I'm more scientific so I enjoyed touching the stones and reading about them. I tried to make a paper airplane- that was a sight to see. We had such an adventurous time and we will definitely be suggesting this place to our friends and our family that come to town to visit. I have to mention how awesome the popcorn was-just saying! My favorite part of the experience was definitely the staff. Nothing makes a new experience better then feeling right at home and that's how it felt... almost like they were your friends welcoming you in. Especially Elspeth. I specifically remember her name because again, her and my son became friends LOL... and she also gave us an exit greeting when she passed us on the way out. I think she may have been a manager, if not- she should be lol. We can't wait to see you all again. I feel like this is the kind of place that you can go to time and time again and always see/learn something new... so we will be back!!!
