We went there during lunch time on a Tuesday. It was a bit busy considering it was a weekday. The staff was nice, friendly and attentive. We were given a small noodle soup as an appetizer. It was very good and also on the house. The side dishes were great especially the mashed potato salad which was surprising. We ordered GamjaTang(Pork Bone Soup), Haemul Sundubu-jjigae(Seafood Soft Tofu Stew) and Chicken Katsu. The soups were flavourful and the cutlet has a large portion. They also serve the meal with free hot tea which was refreshing. All in all great dining experience. It is now my new Korean spot in Scarborough.

I was genuinely excited to try De Chou after seeing it pop up on TikTok. We headed over around 9 pm starving, but the moment we walked in, something felt off. The place seemed empty up front, and the only person I noticed coming out was a server lugging a mop bucket. When we said hi and asked for a table for two, there was no warmth in their greeting and she barely replied and silently led us to a table. We ordered the jajangmyeon, the chadol doenjang-jjigae, and the popcorn chicken “deep-fried karaage.” The noodles were a standout! They were perfectly cooked, flavourful, and easily my favorite thing we ordered. The chadol doenjang-jjigae was decent, solid enough. But the popcorn chicken was a letdown. I was expecting larger, traditional karaage style pieces not tiny, KFC style popcorn bites and definitely not worth a $12.99 price tag for that. We never once saw our server again. No check ins, no “do you want more sides?”, no “how’s everything?” All she did was take the empty plates and felt like I was bothering her if I was to ask for something. It felt like we were there strictly to eat and leave not exactly what I think of as hospitality. Which is a shame, since I had built it up based on hype. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend it based on my visit. Maybe it was just an off night, but the whole thing.. cold greeting, one and done service, pricey tiny chicken left me wishing I’d gone elsewhere for Korean food

The pork bone soup had great depth of flavor with a lot of umami. In contrast, the beef broth soup was subtle and tasted clean. They gave some salt on the side in case we wanted to adjust the saltiness. Also, they gave a warm mini bowl of soba at the start in addition to the usual Korean side dishes. Service was quick and food was yummy!

Gamja tang, the pork bone soup is my all-time favourite! It’s truly authentic, with napa cabbage leaves and perilla seed powder. The flavour is rich, and the pork meat is so tender. My only comment is that I always wish there were more potatoes, though I know potatoes aren’t meant to be the main part of the dish. Donkatsu, the fried pork cutlet with rice is also surprisingly good, with a huge portion. It’s thin-cut yet still crispy. The spring rolls however, were a bit disappointing. They tasted like something store-bought and didn’t feel particularly special.

This was my third time coming here, and I have to say this was prob my worst experience, I have been here before and always had a pretty good experience. I ordered bulgogi hotplate, mind you its 28 dollars, when I got it, it had all veges no meat, I dont think people want to be paying almost 30 dollars for veges. I also got Japchae, the noodles was 17 dollars, the portion was so small, and the taste was so mediocre and just slapped with veges. I wouldnt recommend coming here anymore, the portions are so bad, and the service was just mediocre, waiter didn’t seem like he wanted to be there, and it was only slightly busy.

I love the traditional Korean-style décor here. The place is clean and tidy, the food tastes amazing, and the service is great. I’ll definitely be coming back often!

Was craving soondae, jok bal and bossam. This place had all 3 to satisfy my craving. All the dishes were delicious. Food was tender and seasoned perfectly. The sweet and sour pork tang su yuk had a nice thin layer of batter and lots of meat. Really enjoyed everything and I want to come back to try the rest of the menu. Service was quick, efficient and kind. Nice decor and atmosphere and background music

Went here for Father's Day dinner. I've never gone here with a large group/ordering a la carte but was worth it and highly recommend! Huge portions and between 6 people and 5 things ordered there's enough for several meals tomorrow. My parents are not super familiar with Korean food but had a great experience and ate more than they usually would. Everything was delicious, came out timely and staff was very attentive and friendly despite it being busy.
